Do the vacuum cleaners in the 1 Bdrm suites have the hose? Specifically BLT.

Just thinking about getting some of the space saver bags which will be fine on the way down, but would like to utilize them on the way back too.

Thanks

we were there in aug. but in a gv, i used the vac and it did not have the hose just regular upright. i never called mousekeeping to see if they had one i could use with the hose though, you may want to check ahead if they have one you could use while planning. :flower3:

You can buy the type of spacesaver bags that don't require a vacuum - they just roll up without sucking all the air out.

Personally I don't like any of those bags except for pillows or blankets because they make everything wrinkled. I wouldn't pack my clothes for a trip in them and expect to be able to wear them (and I am not an ironer - like once a year I pull out the ironing board - so I'm not that picky)!

I've never had a DVC villa that had a vacuum cleaner with a hose.

Our BWV 1 bedroom May, 2010 had an upright with a hose. We had space bags and planned to ask mousekeeping for a vacuum with hose but we didn't need to do so. I have no idea if all of the BWV rooms or rooms at other DVCs have the same type of vacuum.

I was planning on it at SSR a few weeks ago and no, there was no hose. I fortunately had a car seat bag where I was able to throw that bag too. Never thought to ask Housekeeping--course they were banging on the door for us to leave.

We had extra stuff because we went to the beach. Otherwise I only use them like ziplocs--a place to put potentially wet things, like suits, that are too big for ziplocs.

I used space bags for Europe, but not too much for quick trips to WDW.

The upright vacs don't have enough power for the Space Bags. If you have a car pack the bags and take them to a gas station with a car wash that has the large Vacuums, I know there is one at the Hess station near BW, because I have used them there for the exact same reason, and they worked great. And it only cost a buck. The CCC probably has them too.

The one in our room worked fine for us. :confused3

That is a great tip that I never thought of.

I bought the roll up kind just so I didn't have to worry about having to find a vacuum. However, as stated they do wrinkle everything. Either I iron it or I try to lay them out in the bag to keep it to a minimum. We have done a lot of hopping lately and they work great for dirty clothes. This way clean and dirty don't mix and if we are in a studio we don't have to make the time to go wash them.

We are using space bags to condense the clothes we are leaving in our owner's locker. I looked everywhere for some type of mini vaccum and eventually found a small vaccum that inflates air mattresses for camping. It has a reverse switch so it will deflate/ suck out the air in the space bags. It can fit in a carry-on,but we'll keep that also in our locker.

Interesting idea, guys! I love them! We use Space Bags for storage of outgrown kids clothes. Using the car wash vacuum is an awesome work-around. If you really want to do this "en suite", I'm sure that there is a vacuum hose attachment somewhere on the net that just covers the bottom "mouth" of any vacuum. Seek and ye shall find...
