Tying Chase Rewards Redemption card to magic band?

We will be using our reward dollars from our Disney visa to cover food/souvenir expenses on an upcoming WDW trip. Does anyone know if it is possible to load these cards on our magic bands so that we can use the magic bands to pay for things? I know you can load a regular credit card on the magic bands, but not sure if we can load the reward redemption card.

You don't "load" a card, you can link it and it is charged later. I think for the rewards card, you just charge everything to your room with Magic Band, then pay off the room charges with your Disney rewards

Can you link a Disney gift card to your MDE account? If so, you can go into a gift shop at Disney World and use your Disney Visa rewards card to buy a Disney gift card. (I read here that the Disney Visa rewards cards expire, but Disney gift cards do not expire. So you use your rewards card to buy a gift card and don't have to worry about the expiration date. That's where my line of thinking came from.)

Nothing is loaded onto the magic bands.
You cannot link a gift card to your MDE account/room reservation.
You could link your credit card and then go pay off your balance at the front desk with the redemption card.
But what would be much less of a hassle would be to just bring the redemption card to the parks and use it.

You cannot link gift cards which is essentially what the redemption card is.
Redemption cards no longer have an expiration date on them.

I actually find it easier to pay with gift card than Magic Band. For Food & Wine, I have a GC on a bracelet I use to pay. It's quick & no pin required. The first time we visited WDW, the magic band system was down & I had no cash or credit card with me. Thankfully DH had a credit card.

It is always recommended that you do bring a secondary form of payment since technology does have its flaws at times.
Glad your DH had one! :)

Yeah we were total newbies and the trip was one disaster after another. That was the first of many issues we had that trip.

Thanks! Yeah, we were prepared to just bring the physical cards anyway, but thought, if we can tie them directly to our magic band we could just easily use the band for everything. But we can't, so cards it is.

We charge everything to our room using the magic band. Then every couple of days we go to the front desk, and pay off our balance with the rewards card or gift cards. We like doing it this way because at the end we get a print out, and can see every charge we made. I just like seeing it all printed out to help plan for the next trips. Just make sure you pay it off before you hit the room charge limit. If you hit that limit they charge your credit card. We had that happen before. Luckily they did reverse it for us so we could use the gift cards.
