Two Weeks until Two Weeks! - Update 3/22 - NEW TR LINK!

You are so close. :goodvibes

I am so excited for you. I can't wait to see all the FB pics- I can checkit on my phone now!!!!

FB is my "go to" app on my phone when I need to kill a few minutes! I hardly ever even get on it on my computer anymore.

:cool1: About time!! (just sent you my friend request)

LOL! She's going to be flooded with DIS friends! :goodvibes

i am not a hundred percent sure if Henry would be tall enough but i think if he can ride test track and he wears the "tall shoes" he would make it.;) plus if he is tall enough you have the option of how much of a thrill you want to make it. i know that you will love it:thumbsup2

I love that there is an option on how thrilling to make it, I think he'd have fun just even sitting in the big arm thing!

I think Henry will be thrilled with meeting the Handy dude :thumbsup2 And you can have your Mickey waffles!! :cool1:

A 40th Anniversary iPhone case? Oooooh!! I can't wait to see all of the merchandise live!! I have the aliens from TS as an iPhone case right now...waiting for the rumored white iPhone to come out for At&t....which is really stupid because I have white now and it is covered up :rolleyes1 It's okay....even I don't understand my thinking process some of the time  I saw a collage of something for the Anniversary and there was a picture of a Christmas ornament that I have....so between that and my old metal lunchbox I am officially vintage!!

Oh and we will have to compare your F&G pictures with MEK's in May (our designated paparazzi) to see how everything has grown :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Tracy

I am looking forward to those Mickey waffles!!!! More than one will be devoured this time. :teeth:

I thought I had read about the iPhone case somewhere, of course I could have been dreaming/hoping. BUT, I will report on FB if I do find the 40th Anniversary one.

You are too funny about the white iPhone! It is a bit strange that they only have it for Verizon. :confused3 I suppose they don't have to push things because they know everything related will sell well!

Are the collage prints for the anniversary beautiful? How cool that you have some of the items! I look forward to seeing the prints in person and checking it all out.

It seemed laid back to me and the characters are so cute! My DD's didn't even know who Jojo and Goliath were but they still loved hugging them and taking pics.

Do you think Bo missed me? I missed him! He's always smiling when he sees me.;)

So cool about the DVC dining! Ugh, I'm so torn about joining. I feel like if we did, somehow it'd force DH to want to go more since he wouldn't want to be wasting money or points!

Oh, PLEASE text him some pics! Let's see, he isn't that into snacks (I know, weird) but he loves Test Track, Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, Dinosaur, Indiana Jones, etc. Can you imagine, him getting random texts from you with pics?? He'd be like, who the heck is Brook?? Actually, that's not true, I did tell him that you have some of the best TR's on the boards so he knows your name at least!

I just knew you'd appreciate that article! That line is hilarious! Make sure you post of pic of you stuffing your face with them!

I think JoJo and Goliath are gone now...I think? Did you go this past trip? Henry wouldn't have a clue who they are either, but he'd still like hugging them! LOL

About joining - have you browsed around on the various threads on the DVC boards? There seems to always be one that asks about regrets, or what you would do differently. I do wish I had read a few of those before we bought - BUT, even still I don't regret it for a second! It's a lot of money, but I love having it. It truly makes it easier for us to go, being the room is "paid for". Plus, if we can't go for some reason, we can rent out those points and have a bit of income from it.

You are so sweet about telling him about my TR! :goodvibes: And yes, I will TOTALLY text him pics! :rotfl: PM me his number!!! I'll send a pic then mention a few things about how lovely October at the World is. ;)

I am soooooo looking forward to those lovely Corn Dog Nuggets!! I like a side of ketchup, but I'll have to try the mustard as the article suggests.

Two weeks from today...March 5.

We will be saying good-bye to the beautiful Boardwalk and hello to

Bay_Lake_Tower_002.jpg

I am very excited to stay here and have just a short little walk to MK! We have a lake view room reserved-and did not put in a room request, but I certainly wouldn't be disappointed with a partial MK view so we could watch Wishes from our balcony with the music streaming through our TV. :cloud9: I wouldn't be disappointed with a full lake view either though! Both views are incredible!!

We won't be rushing over here, just taking it slow and getting there when we get there. I am still undecided about letting Disney take care of our luggage, or if we should just deal with them ourselves. The one other time we did a split stay we didn't get our bags for a VERY long time--like 7 pm late, and it was a tad frustrating to me. Of course our room might not be ready and our luggage won't matter anyway... For those of you who have done splits, what are your thoughts on this? Cab it over with the bags, or let Disney take care of it?

After we check-in, if our room is ready we will go up to it and check everything out, and if it's not ready we will most likely head straight to MK since it's just out our front door! :woohoo:

You've already heard about what we want to do at MK over the course of our trip, so let's move on to later that night.

Sometime that night, after 4 pm, we will be going to Animal Kingdom.

And we have a mission.

We will be taking part in the 5th Birthday Celebration of Expedition Everest!!!!

Expedition_Everest_02.jpg

This event, for Annual Passholders, opened for sign-up yesterday and is the EE Event I have been alluding to. At 12:00 I logged on in attempts to snag us 3 tickets. 1.5 hours later and a bazillion page errors, I FINALLY had our tickets in hand!

Of course Henry isn't big enough to ride this, but I still thought it would be fun to be in the park after hours, see what there is to see, and Joe and I can take a few rides apiece on EE with very minimal lines! I haven't a clue if they will have other attractions open, but I hope they do. If not, we'll probably just stay an hour or so. If the Boneyard is open, we'll be there all night. :rotfl:

And...I just can't believe it...WE LEAVE IN ONE WEEK!!! :jumping1:

If we aren't FB friends already and you want to follow along with the trip, PM me!

How wonderful that you could get the tickets!! :thumbsup2 It sounds like a great event. I hope they will turn on the Yeti for it! I saw the Yeti in all its glory in 2007 and he was so much more visible then!

I have to say that when BLT was first introduced I was not particularly interested. But the more TRs I see from there, the more interested I get. I'm sure you are going to love it!!

How cool you will be there for the EE AP holder event. I also wonder if the Yeti will be working for this event. Of course, I don't really know what this means as I am FAR too chicken to have ever been on this ride. :rolleyes1

I have heard that AK at night is a totally unique and amazing perspective. Can't wait to hear what you think!!

ONE WEEK!! :banana::banana::banana:

Very cool!! I read about the special EE event for passholders... I was hoping they let passholders bring guests because I'm the only passholder (for now) in the family. We may upgrade Tim to an AP if, before the end of this trip, we decide to go in November, but that didn't help me out yesterday.

Have fun!! I'm jealous...

Oh about the luggage... mousescrapper did a split stay with one night at POP before their BLT stay started & had trouble with their luggage transfer. I'd take it over myself if I were you.

Your trip is so close! :yay:
You are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE BLT. The walk to the MK is just wonderful. :cloud9: Your trip is the perfect balance; EP resort area, then MK resort area.

I'd love to follow along on FB, sending you a PM. I have a feeling we may have similar friends.

Hey, that's great you got your tickets!! I had no idea what you were talking about when you alluded to it- now i know!!! I never did get to see AK at night- since I'm always there when it closes before it's dark.

We didn't have any problems with our luggage getting there when we needed it, but then again, we were spending the whole day at the parks and didnt' need it. I imagine it will be different for you guys.

In regards to the luggage for your split stay I think it really just comes down to if you are willing to pay for a cab or not. You already know that your luggage might make it there it a decent time OR it might not. I would bet that luggage transfers don't start until 12pm from Boardwalk (that's what time they start at Pop) - an hour after check-out time. BTL could be one of the first stops or one of the last stops. :confused3 I would suggest packing your carry on bags to get you thru the evening and transfer them yourself if you have Disney move your big bags for you. That's what I did, and I didn't stress about it because I had my carry on stuff.

fun fun and more fun!!!!! That's what I see :)

Hey, if you happen to take a picture of F&G coffee cups...I'd love to see what they have!

Fun fun fun and a Happy Birthday to EE to boot! I imagine it will be LOVELY with Henry being a hop, skip and a jump from the MK.

BLT, Magic Kingdom a stone's throw away (okay, maybe a bit farther :rotfl:...but still :goodvibes), an almost empty park with rides on EE and LEAVING IN ONE WEEK??? Life is GOOD! :woohoo::yay::woohoo:

Hi there, I loved your last TR and can't wait for this one!

:thumbsup2

I think JoJo and Goliath are gone now...I think? Did you go this past trip? Henry wouldn't have a clue who they are either, but he'd still like hugging them! LOL

About joining - have you browsed around on the various threads on the DVC boards? There seems to always be one that asks about regrets, or what you would do differently. I am soooooo looking forward to those lovely Corn Dog Nuggets!! I like a side of ketchup, but I'll have to try the mustard as the article suggests.

I'm pretty sure Jojo & Goliath are gone too. They needed to go though, they're not relative anymore!

I'm going to do some more DVC research. Thanks for the information!

Ya, you're famous Brook, even my DH knows who you are! Sigh, October seems to be drifting further and further away for me...

Ketchup on a hot dog? Oh girl, I ONLY put mustard on mine so I highly recommed that you eat your golden nuggets with it!:thumbsup2

Ok, that EE event sounds AMAZING! That's it, I'm hopping a plane to Florida and will meet you and Joe there! Oh, I'd love to ride it at night. And I'm sure the park will look incredible as well. Is there anything else special they're doing for it? Did you have to pay for your tickets?

:yay::yay:wow how cool do to late hours at AK AND a Birthday EE ride. that sounds awesome! I can't wait to hear about it from you!

sigh less than 2 weeks....you are so close.:banana:

That's cool that you were able to (after much perseverance) get tickets to that EE birthday event. I'm looking forward to your report on that.

Staying at BLT will be lots of fun! Even if you don't get a view of the MK, you can always head up to the Top of the World Lounge to watch the fireworks.

Celebrating EE's fifth year will be a blast!!! How neat that you were able to get tickets to it! :thumbsup2

I'm with C the more and more I hear about BLT the more and more I really can't wait to stay there!!!! I will get there one day!!!!

BW and BLT, it doesn't get much better than that!!!

OOOOH the EE event, I have to tell you I got my Monitor in the mail yesterday and I saw that event and I was wondering if you knew about it and if you were going to go!! I'm so glad you did YAYAYAYAYAYAYA!!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!! You guys will have a great time!! Parks at night are amazing!!

How wonderful that you could get the tickets!! :thumbsup2 It sounds like a great event. I hope they will turn on the Yeti for it! I saw the Yeti in all its glory in 2007 and he was so much more visible then!

Oh man, I would LOVE it if they turned the Yeti on! We saw him in 2006 too, I don't remember him exactly swiping us, but I do remember my reaction of pure terror and SCREAMING!!! :rotfl: It would be amazing if he was working!!!!!

ONE WEEK!! :banana::banana::banana:

That is exactly how I was about BLT as well! I saw the model rooms and all, it just wasn't interesting to me.

Then I saw it in person. Walked down the hallways. Gazed out the windows at the views (both sides!). Saw the rooms with natural light.

And I was IN! It's a beautiful resort, truly beautiful.

:lmao: about EE and the Yeti! Him being "on" means he does what he used to do - swipes his giant arm at the train car as it races by! :scared1:  It was sooooo amazing. Currently he is frozen in time with a strobe light on him and has been nicknamed "Disco Yeti" by many upset fans. I don't know if it's as easy as just turning him on, or if there is something majorly broken with him. Regardless, even just his HUGE LOOMING presence on the ride is quite a sight! I'd love to see him working again, but it doesn't ruin the attraction for me.

AK is awesome at night! We've done it twice in the dark. EE is INTENSE! AK itself is very dark and totally different looking/feeling. I enjoyed all the crazy light fixtures in Africa being on! I hope to snag a few decent pictures this time, I have only gotten a couple in the past.

Oooh, that stinks about AP holders not being able to bring guests! I was kinda wondering how it worked because it just asked how many tickets you want - and you could put whatever - but I guess there is always the fine print of "you must present your AP at the gate."

Oooh, that news about mousescrapper sounds like a repeat of our mess back in 2008. I'm leaning that way even more now...thank you for your advice!

Wow! What a special experience! And hooray for one week!:cheer2:

I cannot believe we are at one week!!! :hyper:

Your trip is so close! :yay:
You are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE BLT. The walk to the MK is just wonderful. :cloud9: Your trip is the perfect balance; EP resort area, then MK resort area.

I'd love to follow along on FB, sending you a PM. I have a feeling we may have similar friends.

I am beyond thrilled (and feel quite spoiled!) to be staying at two different resorts that are walking distance to parks! :yay: It seems a bit unbelievable actually!

Sounds great about FB! I will be checking my PMs later today.

So when you got back to your rooms your luggage was already there? Hmmm....we won't be spending the WHOLE day at the park, but certainly some time. We could do a small bag with swim suits and things - or hit up the Community Hall too to spend time, or hop on the monorail and shop/play at the other resorts too. Hmmm....decisions, decisions!

That's what I did, and I didn't stress about it because I had my carry on stuff.

You know what's funny....after reading the couple responses already here on this topic and debating back and forth with Joe...we decided just about exactly what you wrote here! (Which makes me smile, because seriously, woman-you are so organized and smart with this stuff! :thumbsup2) We will have enough stuff to get us through the day (suits, extra shirt for H, etc.) and plan on luggage arriving late. We will have plenty to do right there in the BLT area between the Community Hall, the other monorail resorts and the pool. I think we will be okay! Thank you, as always, for your excellent advice Heidi!
