Two Weeks until Two Weeks! - Update 3/22 - NEW TR LINK!

Page four already. This is what I get for not paying attention. Can't wait for more.

I promise I have a good excuse for being late.....I've been packing!!

We plan to start our drive at the same time your flight takes off. Wonder who will get there first?? :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Like others have said, I absolutely LOVE your countdown calendar! What a fabulous keepsake :goodvibes

Good call on getting the service to the airport in lieu of taking the train. I think the train would be a nightmare with all you'd have to lug around with you that morning. Definitely worth the extra $$ for that convienence.

I am so glad to be in from the beginning. Can't wait to see the plans.

Wow, two weeks in Disney! That's going to be so much fun. :woohoo: I love the Countdown Calender. Henry did a great job on that. :goodvibes

We are sooooo much alike! I love how you have your arrival day planned down the the minute! I do the same thing! In fact, I'm already trying to think like that for my next trip and it isn't until September!!!

 I love to plan out the entire day and just get something down on paper (or in my case, in my phone). But, I do leave everything open to whatever we are feelin' for the moment. This day has already adjusted some just from this evenings discussions with Joe.

Departure day sounds great, Brook. And I'd definitely be using that car service.

I think the countdown calendar looks great. It doesn't matter how "neat" it is, it matters that you have one. :goodvibes

The extra money is worth it in this case! Thankfully our return flight lands at LaGuardia which is very close to our house.

That's what I figured with the countdown too! It's kinda extra special and fun because Henry was directly involved in it too.

Woot! Another one from Brook. Glad to be in again! :goodvibes

Yay! Glad you made it over here!!!

Plans look great! You just reminded me that I want to try Chick Fil A, maybe on my way home in May.

So excited you are returning to the BW. Although still creeped out that George's eyes glow! Just love how that location allows for a go with the flow afternoon/evening and lots of options if crowds are high.

Two weeks from today! :yay:

CFA is yummy!!! I hope it works out for you! They are closed on Sunday's though (I can't remember what day you are flying out, but just wanted to throw that in there, just in case!).

I am hooked on those Epcot resorts and can't wait to stay at your Beach
Club someday! It's so wonderful being able to go with whatever we feel like doing, makes the trip truly relaxing. :cloud9:

Joining in!
2 weeks sounds fabulous.
Hmmm, I'm going to PM you for the name of the car service that has carseats. (I'm in Queens also.)

:welcome: Glad to have ya! Where in Queens are you? We are in Astoria. The only LGA flight was at 7 am and we don't do mornings well...so we are trucking over to JFK. Blah. Our return flight it at LGA though! :thumbsup2

The car service is Eastern Car Service. When I called earlier today they said it would be $40 only. I am thinking that is the rate without a car seat though, which is an extra $5. Pretty good deal!

/
I also LOVE the countdown calendar. Definitely a keeper.

I'm sending you a PM for FB. I don't think I'm gonna hold out this time. I'm finding I have less and less time for the DIS lately.

Late to the party, but ready for the ride! Looking forward to another Brook/Joe/Henry adventure!

Glad you made it over here!!!

Great job on that Mickey head, Henry! :mickeyjum

Henry says, "Thank you" :goodvibes

We have 307 days until our trip. I am looking forward to reading about your trip to help the days pass a little bit faster. Thanks so much for sharing!

:welcome: I hope it helps you pass through the next 307 days more quickly! I'll be doing a few live reports from the World and also a lot on FB (you can PM me if ya wanna join up over there too). It will probably take me close to 307 days to finish a 15 day TR....

Love the countdown, so cute!! We decided to make a countdown chain. Aiden was super into it for the first 4 or so...then he looked at me and said "Ok Mommy get to work" so I finished solo :)

Good call on the car service, it will be money well spent I am sure!!

Still can't believe we are checking in to Boardwalk the day after you check out! Hopefully I will catch up with you and some other Disers at some point, maybe over corndogs or popcorn :thumbsup2

That is EXACTLY how our chain went last time. :rotfl: Henry helped me on about 4 of them and got bored! Too funny! This one he was very into...as you can see!

What day do you arrive again? Sorry, I'm SURE this has been covered, but I am getting everyone's travel times mixed up. :flower3: You arrive on the 6th? We gotta meet up!!! ::yes:: Our plans are super flexible, so lets figure something out! I'll PM ya.

I LOVE that calendar!!! This sentimental old Mom would keep it forever! Woo Hoo to riding in style, that is what I would pick as well. SO happy for you!:goodvibes

:rotfl2: I'm the same way! I have kept a few of our past ones, and I have about 30 pieces of Henry's artwork adorning our walls....

Congratulations on the new addition ;) Have a great trip! I love hearing about your trips as my DS is just a few months behing Henry in age. Your reports always give me great ideas on things to do!!

Second Week is just what we've always wanted! Glad my reports help! Taking a little one to the World is a whole different experience, isn't it? I just love it. It will be so fun to watch our kids "grow up Disney". If you have any tips/ideas for me, please share!!

Have you eaten at La Cantina yet? NO, DOH, cause it wasn't open when you were there last. :rolleyes1

I vote for that because I am anxious to try it and I was drooling over it when I was there in September. It opened the afternoon I left. :headache:

What? No chik fi la???? :sad2:

It opened like 2 days weeks after we left. BOO! I'm very much looking forward to trying it. It WILL be eaten (at least once) while we are there. Joe and I are big on Mexican food and are very excited to try it. I will put up a review/pictures on FB right away for ya....wait, you aren't on FB, are you?

CFA is on the plan for the return, no worries!

I just got home from officiating a swim meet and I had to drive thru Mc Donald on the way -a caramel sundae was calling my name.

In the Drive thru I saw a sign ...

MC CAFE SHAKES
- Guess what ? It is the Shamrock shake !!!!

So excited but I couldn't order one- the machine was down. :headache:

:yay::yay::yay: Must. go. back. Must. Order. One.

Oh, I love the countdown calendar! It's so sweet, kinda reminds of Chef Mickey's actually! And that is one fabulous Mickey head Henry drew too! Your little man did a great job!:thumbsup2

I think the car service sounds perfect and would be less stressful than all those trains and stairs:eek:! Good thinking!

Your arrival day plans sound good too. I try to keep it very low key too, who wants to rush around like crazy when you've been traveling all day? We usually hit the pool and then have a nice leisurely dinner.:goodvibes

And good news that you'll try to update on here too, I'm not on Facebook. Yet my 76 year old grandmother is!

I can see the Chef Mickey's in that, now that you mention it! I was very surprised at Henry's Mickey Head, it came with no prompting even.

I don't mind the train usually, but it is quite a haul with all the gear. We'd have to climb stairs to our train, then again at the first transfer. Then go down about 4 floors using this crazy system of elevators---I think it's 3 different elevators and a total pain. The $40 is worth the ease and peace of mind.

We've done that rush around on our travel days and it just does not bode well for our family. I am amazed at what some people can accomplish on their travel day even if they woke up at 3 am. We have learned the hard way to make no plans!

:rotfl2: about Facebook! There are a few holdouts. Joe didn't have an account until about a year or two ago, then he caved. I'll really try to do a few updates here and include some pictures! :goodvibes

Great update Brook! And I love the countdown calendar. That is so great that you got Henry to help out. It looks so cute. And, I'm with Kathy...I'd be going car service all the way.

It was a fun project for a snowy afternoon! I had gotten out some stencils and things at first, but Henry really wanted to get his hands on it-he loves to paint/draw/ANYTHING with art, so he was very excited about it all!

I love your countdown calendar. It will be a hidden Mickey hunt each day to fine the correct day.

:lmao: That's exactly what it has been too!!!!

page four!!! I am feeling like a total failure! Love the title and the intro! And I am very interested in your planning and then your experience since I am planning this 16 days trip for October/November... And I am not really sure yet on how to approach planning for this. :confused3

You aren't a failure! No worries! :goodvibes I've been moving pretty fast lately due to time constraints, so it's hard to keep up.

Planning for this trip has been interesting. I went from having every single day marked with a park (or two) or a "no plans", to half the trip with park days and half with "no plans" days, to what I currently have which is almost nothing! I figure we know the parks well enough, and we know what we like to do, we'll wake up each day and look at the crowd calendar (or look it up the previous night) and go from there. A couple things are decided on, but overall it's very, very loose. We are more focusing on things outside the parks that we've always wanted to do but haven't. It's been way more difficult to plan for and keep the days straight than a shorter trip.

Yes, that countdown calendar is just precious! And anytime a few dollars can save you that much time and frustration it's worth it! :rotfl:
Can't wait for the rest of the report!

Marce

And that's just it! We figured by the time we got to the airport with all our gear we'd be exhausted and a bit on the annoyed side. The extra money is worth it this time!

Woo Hoo!!!! You've started!!! :yay::yay::yay:
I am really looking forward to hearing about all of your plans! You are going to feel like you live there.... 2 weeks...aaaaaahhhhhhhh :cloud9:
Our tradition on our first day when we stay at the BWV's is get pizza at the window and eat at one of the tables overlooking the water and enjoy the atmosphere. :goodvibes I am sooooo jealous!
I'm glad you are only 2 weeks away.... will you do fb updates?

And I can't believe we are going in 2 weeks! :woohoo: It totally seems unreal at this point still. We were listening to Disney music earlier tonight and just dreaming of it all. It was so fun!

Oooh, I like your BWV tradition. ::yes:: After some discussion tonight we figured we would run over to the Hess Station instead of ordering stuff for the room, so we'd grab dinner there or on the BW. Have you ever walked over to that Hess Station? I tried to find what kind of stuff they have, but can't find some good solid details anywhere!

And yep! I will be doing FB updates! :thumbsup2

You're going to love JetBlue...they're so much better than all the other options out here! It's actually gotten to the point where I've been flying out of JFK, even though it's much more of a pain for me to get to than LGA, just because they have so many more JetBlue choices!

I LOVE hearing that! :hyper: We've done Delta so many times and I'm kinda meh about them. We did Sun Country last trip and that was actually pretty nice. JetBlue has some amazing rates though! :thumbsup2

Sorry I'm late, Brook! I'm in:goodvibes

No worries! Thanks for joining in!!!!

Page four already. This is what I get for not paying attention. Can't wait for more.

 What does it mean when I end up on page 27 of someone's report then? ;)

I promise I have a good excuse for being late.....I've been packing!!

We plan to start our drive at the same time your flight takes off. Wonder who will get there first?? :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Okay first. I'm a tad jealous that your ticker says 14 DAYS and mine says two WEEKS. Days always sounds like less time. I want days!

And packing? Wow girl. I'm impressed. You are amazing!

I truly hope we win the race to the World, otherwise that would not be a good sign for the vacation! :scared1: :rotfl:

Like others have said, I absolutely LOVE your countdown calendar! What a fabulous keepsake :goodvibes

Good call on getting the service to the airport in lieu of taking the train. I think the train would be a nightmare with all you'd have to lug around with you that morning. Definitely worth the extra $$ for that convienence.

We've done the train to JFK before, but not while dragging our own luggage - only when dropping off/picking up someone else. So they dragged their luggage. ;) I think it would be awful. Truly awful. We will probably end up with 3 suitcases, 2 backpacks, 1 stroller and 1 three year old. Ya, it would be ugly!

I am so glad to be in from the beginning. Can't wait to see the plans.

Yay! Glad you made it!!! :welcome:

Wow, two weeks in Disney! That's going to be so much fun. :woohoo: I love the Countdown Calender. Henry did a great job on that. :goodvibes

I still find it hard to believe we are really going for two weeks! It will probably be our only chance to do it for a loooooooong time and I'm glad we are seizing the moment!

I'm late! But I'm just glad to be here! :goodvibes

I'm glad to have you!!!

I also LOVE the countdown calendar. Definitely a keeper.

I'm sending you a PM for FB. I don't think I'm gonna hold out this time. I'm finding I have less and less time for the DIS lately.

I got your PM! I will respond/find ya on Facebook! I understand about the DIS, lately I've been doing a lot of planning/organizing, so I'm on here a lot - plus doing a PTR actually helps me with the trip, so it's almost a necessity at this point for me. :rolleyes1

I just got home from officiating a swim meet and I had to drive thru Mc Donald on the way -a caramel sundae was calling my name.

:yay::yay::yay: Must. go. back. Must. Order. One.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! What a TEASE! Why oh why doesn't NYC get these? I so so so so so hope they are in Florida! Please, please be in Florida!!

Though, a caramel sundae sounds mighty fine as well. Yum. I love McDonald's ice cream!

Hi Brook!

Followed you over from your last TR, and cannot wait to hear about your 2 week adventure! I can't remember the last time I went on vacation for 2 weeks anywhere! Although I guess I do get 2 1/2 months in the summer, 2 weeks at Christmas, and a week in the spring :rolleyes1

Shamrock shakes? I *think* they have them down here in FL. I know I've seen them advertised in the past, but haven't seen them yet this year. I actually have never had one - my Irish ancestors would be horrified

Okay, so I just spent 20 minutes researching the Shamrock Shake. :rolleyes1:laughing: They were IN NYC LAST YEAR! I haven't heard anything yet about this year, but fingers crossed!!!! And they are being reported in Orlando, so I will be searching one out during our trip!

I can't really believe we are getting two weeks either! Though 2.5 months would be mighty fine. :rotfl:

I went to shamrockshake.com and someone from Orlando reported them arriving. I am going to check in the airport and during our off-site day when we have a rental car. I must get one! If they are in fact back in NYC this year, I won't be so determined during our trip...but we'll see.

:rotfl2: about your Irish ancestors! I'm sure they would be! All this madness over a green shake!!

I was just making my Graden Grocer list and them remembered we were near the Hess and I might just do that instead! We do need diapers and wipes delivered but that's all the must haves on my list.

So if Henry asking for certain rides etc? I am sure he remembers so much from your last trip that he will have his own touring plan

Oh and did you hear about the boats not running? I am so confused about it all, first I heard it was just not stopping at BC then I heard not running in the area at all! I hope that isn't true, DH and I don't mind walking but the extra walk is kind of a drag for my dad but if we took a bus to Epcot, would it drop us off at the main entrance?! :confused3 Defeats the purpose of an Epcot resort!!

Shamrockshake.com? Seriously? :confused3 I know they have hit Delaware (saw the sign when I went for coffee the other day) but honestly, I think they are kinda gross. DH would disagree with me tho.

Love the countdown calendar! :thumbsup2
Arrival day plans sound great! :cool1:
I will be stalking my local McD's this week to see if the Shamrock Shake has arrived...:yay:

:welcome: Glad to have ya! Where in Queens are you? We are in Astoria. The only LGA flight was at 7 am and we don't do mornings well...so we are trucking over to JFK. Blah. Our return flight it at LGA though! :thumbsup2

I'm in Bayside. JFK always has better flight times. I try to avoid LGA even though it's so much closer.

Thanks for the car service link. I usually use Carmel when I'm traveling alone or with friends. I have to keep Eastern in mind when my nephews are joining me.

You are going to LOVE BLT. You'll get so spoiled by the walk to the MK.
