My first trip to WDW since i was a kid in the 90s is two weeks away as of yesterday, and I was wondering if they is anything else I should do other then pack. I did my fast passes at 60 days, i received both my Magic Band and Magical Express luggage tag in the mail and put them away for safe keeping till I leave. I am Shopping for some new jeans, I reserved a Uber to the airport, and I am keeping a eye on weather both at home and Orlando. Anything else experinced travels know I should look at or do during these last two weeks?

Did you want to order any snacks or water from a grocery store? (i.e. garden grocer), reserve mail/papers, arrange transport at home airport, alert family members that you will be out of town.

If you are planning on doing any table service dining you will want to book those ASAP.

Have you completed your online check-in? You'll want to do that and if there are any special requests or locations within your resort you want I'd include those in your online check-in. I would recommend reading the first few posts and last few pages of the thread that relates to your resort. Normally lots of great information there.

You may also want to alert your credit card company of your upcoming travel.

Have fun! We'll be leaving around the time you arrive.

reserve mail/papers
You know totally forgot to have post office hold my mail. Thanks

Have all those except one day I have open for a flexible day, thinking of reserving a table at the Edison that night to try it out

Also totally forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder.

As someone else suggested, are you going to place a grocery delivery order for your arrival day? Sites like Garden Grocer let you "build a cart," adding and deleting items along the way before placing your final order. Remember that you can have the Bell Services department put your cold items in their fridge until you arrive, so you can order things like milks, juice, beer, and other cold items. I arranged a delivery time a couple of hours before my flight was due to land, so everything was waiting for me when I arrived at the hotel.

It's a great way to order bottled water!

If you are flying southwest, getting your boarding passes 24 hrs before your flight

Put the magical express luggage tags on your bags before you leave for the airport

Buy chewing gum for your ears for takeoff/landing

Review the park maps as well as your resort map. Since you haven't been since the '90's you will be shocked with the changes. Get a "lay of the land" in all the parks as well as your resort. I realize you don't have your room assignment yet but get familiar with the resort layout ahead of time so you're not totally lost when you get off the bus. You'll have a security check at all the gates so try to avoid a backpack. While you're in line, open not only your bag but any smaller bags you may be carrying (I have a bag inside my larger bag to store pens, paper, eye drops, my meds, etc.). If you're carrying ponchos or light jackets in your bag remove them...in other words...make it easy to get through security quickly. I also like to keep all my reservation numbers on a hand written note in my wallet; you could loose your phone or not have service for some reason and this still gives you proof of reservation. I also carry a small folder with copies of all my fastpasses, reservations, room reservations, airline tickets and a schedule for each day along with park EM hours and times for fireworks and parades. I hope you've reserved a day for Disney Springs. It's beautiful and there are so many new eating establishments and shops as well as the hot air balloon...which I recommend. A great "adventure" :yay:! Enjoy your trip! :tink:

Remember to unplug any unused appliances......tv.....washer (turn off water so no floods to come home to with the cold temps if you live in northern states)...dryer.......

I also use timers for some lamps set at different times.

Do you have extra $1.00 for tips for bus drivers, bell service etc? I always carry a few in my pockets just in case.

We always notify the local Police department, have our mail held at the post office, turn off water and if its summer time, we have someone come by and cut the grass towards the end of our vacation.

Pause your mail and newspaper. Let your neighbors/police know. Clean out the fridge and the trash cans. Clean the house (so you come back to a nice clean place). Put your lights on a timer to go on and off, or have someone come over and randomly do so. Set up someone to watch the pets.

Ooh, I have another one. Don't forget to put your tickets, ids, money, credit cards, etc in a bag that you are taking with you on the plane. Don't put them in your luggage! Put that bag on top of the other bags, and don't forget it!

And pay your bills. It would be bad if you are on vacation and got a notice they were turning off the water because someone (*cough DH*) forgot to drop the payment off...doubly so if you don't have a smart phone (*cough DH*) and the wonderful and amazing wife has to spend several hours on the phone getting it paid and taken care of (why several hours? No one could find the account...even by address. Glitch in the system apparently)

If you're like me, the best advice is to try to avoid living, sleeping, and breathing your upcoming trip and be productive at work. Oh -- who am I kidding? Get on YouTube, watch a bazillion videos of resort and park walk-throughs, drool over menus, and anytime something annoying happens, realize that in __ days, you'll be in Disney!

Pack rain gear. You can purchase at the parks but a whole lot more expense. It rains just about everyday at some point.
