Two Very Merry Un-Birthdays - Feb 2010 (Updated 8/9)

It's a priority for us too :thumbsup2 I'm actually glad it's on a Sunday night. Usually it's on a week day afternoon at like 2. I don't get home from school until around 3 and I need to see the whole game, including opening ceremonies ::yes:: One of my friends once said to me "Can't you just tape the game and watch it later?" My response was "NO!!!! IT'S NOT THE SAME!!!!!!!!" :rotfl:

Yup, it's fun to have someone who was there at the same time!!!

My cousin goes to bed with hers in sometimes  She has the kind that you throw out after one day so maybe that makes a difference

Definitely not the same! My dad was wondering if they would still have the jets fly over the park. I hope they do because that's my favorite part, and getting to see them from my living room window seconds after seeing them on TV, and then seeing them on TV again, was really really cool!

Charles has the ones that I had -- the monthly ones, that he wears for way more than a month to make them last longer, even though a couple of years ago he got an ulcer on one eye from doing that. He went to the doctor about it pretty quickly, so it healed just fine, but he STILL does it and it bugs the crap out of me. He is doing it right now, actually. :headache:

I forgot to say that I really like the coat hanger! I want one for my room!

I remember during the playoffs in 2008, game 5 of the ALCS. The one where the Sox made the amazing comeback against the Rays. That game was on until like 1 AM and the next day at school I was like this :faint: :rotfl: Again, my friend was like "you should've taped it!" What?! I couldn't have gone to bed in the middle of a playoff game

I have the monthly ones too. If they still feel okay after a month, I'll keep wearing them in case I break or lose a pair which happens to me a lot  Once they start to irritate me or they won't go in my eye easily anymore, I throw them out. I won't wear them longer than like 6 weeks.

I love the coat hanger :goodvibes

Well...I thought I fixed the pictures. Apparently not :rotfl: I'll figure it out tomorrow! I need to get to bed. Good night DISers!!!

Okay, so apparently I did fix my pictures, it just didn't show up on my computer correctly until today. I told you this computer is against me. :rotfl: I think I'll do another update in a little bit, since I didn't get to do more last night!

Yay!! Getting back on here will again be my reward for getting homework done (this time getting ALL of it done that I can get done without having to observe :rotfl:)

:rotfl: I have a chem test tomorrow but I've been giving myself a break for a few hours. I had to stay late today to work on a project. I didn't get home until 3:30. School started at 7:30. :faint: Hey it's pretty funny that we were talking about contacts last night, because this morning I dropped my left one on the bathroom floor. I threw it out and since I had been wearing that pair since January I threw out the right one too. The new pair feels better than the old one!

oh yay, you started your TR! :cool1:
great start!! can't wait for more...popcorn::

i have a chem test tomorrow, also! on 'kinetics & equilibrium'.
not a big chemistry fan. :headache:

Thank you :goodvibes

Good luck! Mine's on hydrates, empirical formula, and molecular formula :headache: It's not that I don't like it, it's just REALLY hard!

You people are hurting my brain just reading about it! I'm glad I teach elementary students. ::yes::

Time to continue with our first day!

After leaving the room, we went to catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom! It's amazing how excited I get about riding the bus in Disney. When we got to the bus stop, there was an empty MK bus waiting for us :upsidedow My mom said "Good morning" to the driver. It was 1 PM. :rotfl: She used the "We've been up since 4 AM" excuse ;) We ended up being the only two people on the bus! When we got off we headed this way.

I got very excited when I saw the train station!

I apologize for the blurry pictures. I was too excited to stop so I took them while in motion

We knew we'd be eating breakfast there the next day!

We got our bags checked, went through the turn stiles, and approached the entrance to Main Street!

Disney2010028.jpg

A train was going by.

We're here!!!

:cloud9:

We hadn't eaten since before 7 so we were starving. As usual, our first meal of the trip was here.

Disney2010034.jpg

It's not my mom's favorite counter service, but she likes it. I loooove the corn dog nuggets  Of course we couldn't find a table  So we ate standing up and put the tray on the trash can. The food never came close to touching it so it didn't bother us too much. I remembered to take a food picture, but not until some of the food was gone. I was very proud of myself for remembering food pictures the whole trip. The only time I forgot was Crystal Palace on Sunday.

We had some entertainment!

I took this picture when we were done eating.

I'm stopping here for right now. I need to study!

You people are hurting my brain just reading about it! I'm glad I teach elementary students. ::yes::

:rotfl: I'm in the high-ish chem class. It's not AP or honors but it's harder and more fast paced than the other chem class. I'm very proud of my B- in high chem! But my brain hurts a lot in that class  I'd love to go back to elementary school sometimes :faint: But then I'd have to go through middle school a second time  I have no desire to be 13 again

I wonder how long he has been there. We have seen him so many times. What a job!

Your room is on the same side where we were this summer, except we were on the ground floor.

Does any of that look familiar? :)

I remember us texting when you got there!

I just got so excited because we saw the same piano guy, then I remembered that you guys got there on Kailyn's birthday, which is the exact same day we saw him. I'm just getting old. :lmao: He was awesome! I got some video of him, and when he noticed Kailyn's birthday button in the mirror, he wished her happy birthday (without missing a beat in his playing.) After he finished what he was playing, he started playing "Happy Birthday" for Kailyn! Of course I didn't get any video of THAT. Oh well.

Good luck on your test! I am with MeMom, you are hurting my brain just reading about all that. I'm not a math/science person at ALL...I'm awful at all of it.

That does look familiar ::yes:: We were one floor up this year.

We had the ground floor on that side a couple years ago. Maybe we had the same room :)

I remember you texting me about seeing the piano guy! He's really good! That was so sweet of him to play happy birthday!

I'm terrible at math. When our chem stuff is all concepts and no math, I do fine. But when it involves math... :sad2:

I loved watching him! I showed Charles because he really likes piano playing and he was highly impressed. I still need to get the video onto my laptop (Charles has the little gadget that lets me get videos on here) but I can't wait to upload it. It will take forever for me to get to that point in the report but whatever :rotfl:

Even the concepts and stuff I have trouble with. It just doesn't stay with me. :sad2: Probably because it doesn't interest me. I do find some of it interesting, but not interesting enough to remember

Sounds like you had a great trip so far! I just started writing my first PTR & found yours so I thought I'd read it!

How was the weather on your trip? We are going in December...we usually go in March/April so I have no idea what to expect.

I need to figure out how to get my videos onto my computer. I could do it a few months ago but for some reason now I can't

Yeah, for me it really depends on what the concept is :rotfl:

Welcome!!! I'll go check out your PTR!

The first few days it was in the 40's but it was in the 60's towards the end of the week. It hit 70 by our last day. Usually when we go in February it's mostly in the 60's or low 70's!

Happy Friday! :woohoo: Any plans for the weekend? I'm working and doing homework.

I didn't realize when I bought my camera that the software for it was not Mac compatible. I can upload my pictures via iPhoto, but that's just pictures. I have to use some thing of Charles's -- it plugs into a USB port and has slots for memory cards, so I can just upload the videos to a folder. I always seem to forget about uploading the videos, though. :confused3

Hello to any readers that I still have! I apologize for randomly disappearing for 3 weeks. I was really busy with hospital visits and a funeral. My aunt was in the hospital for a little while and she passed away last week. It's been really rough on all of us, but we feel better than we did before the funeral. It was such a nice service and I think it helped all of us.

I'm busy with make up school work, since I missed most of last week. I'll resume this TR some time this week! Hopefully tomorrow or Friday. Definitely by Saturday!

I know I responded on Katie's and my report but I'm so happy you're back!

I'm happy to be back too

I apologize for not updating over the weekend like I promised :guilty: I had a lot of make up work to do. But now I'm finally resuming my TR!

Let's see...at the end of my last update we had just eaten at Casey's.

For some reason, the Haunted Mansion is almost always our first ride, so we headed that way. We walked by here

Disney2010039.jpg

We knew we would be having lunch with Pooh on Sunday!

Then we headed over the bridge and walked by the yucky red water

Disney2010040.jpg

I'm not sure why it was like that. I know they had drained all the water the week before we were there.

There had just been a Dream Along With Mickey show and people were flooding out.

Disney2010041.jpg

I like this area. There's usually no one there.

Disney2010042.jpg

Although I imagine it gets crowded around there when Tiana is in her gazebo.

Disney2010044.jpg

Meghan(Megablocks) had told me that the Haunted Mansion line was really long, but I wanted to check it out for myself...I should've listened to her :rotfl: It was crazy! It extended out of the roped in area and they had to have a CM holding a "Haunted Mansion Line starts here" sign.

So, instead of getting in that crazy line we turned around and headed through Frontierland.

Disney2010048.jpg

Our destination was...

Disney2010049.jpg

Which also had a very long line. I think it said 45 minutes. At this point we figured that every ride would be like that, so we hopped in line. It only took about 30 minutes to get through the line :thumbsup2

After Pirates, we went to visit the Tiki Birds! I don't have any pictures from when we were walking around Adventureland...I didn't take a lot of pictures the first day, but I have a ton from the rest of the week. I had somewhere around 1,200 total

Anyway, we grabbed some fastpasses for the Jungle Cruise before heading back towards Liberty Square. We decided to just suck it up and get in the Haunted Mansion line because it's one of our favorites. This line was insane. It wound all the way down that ramp next to the queue area, up the stairs on the other end, and all through the roped in area. I took these when we went down the ramp.

I'm not sure if I took that last one in line or after we rode.

This was a very unpleasant line experience. The two teenage boys behind us were complaining the whole time because they wanted to be spending their vacation with their friends instead of in Disney with their parents. Then the kids in front of us...3 little boys with their dad. Probably between the ages of 3 and 5. These kids were SO annoying! They kept fighting with eachother and not moving when the line moved and sitting on the ropes and everything. A CM talked to them about it at one point but they didn't speak English. Their father was COMPLETELY oblivious. He didn't notice his kids weren't with him half the time they were in line :confused3 I think we were in line for about 35 minutes, which is by far the longest I've ever waited for the Haunted Mansion!

I'm stopping here for now. I might do more later tonight. If not, I'll update later this week. I won't have time tomorrow, but I think I will on Thursday! I'm very excited for the long weekend, especially since I'll be meeting up with Meghan on Friday or Saturday :goodvibes I hope everyone has a good night!
