Since we got in late last night, and were checking out today, our plan was to sleep in a little. Yea right, sleep in. Mousekeeping was knocking on our door at 8:00, wanting to know when we were planning on leaving. Told her well be out by 11:00. I couldnt sleep anyways, I was too worried about how difficult it was going to be getting through security. And my stomach decided to go nuts during the night too, so I didnt get much sleep. DH packed up our bags while I made breakfast. I called Tiffany Town Car to ask them to pick us up at 6:30, instead of 7:00 (give us more time for me to get through security). Bell service came around 10:15 to get our bags to store for us until our limo picks us up. Talked to Matt our bell man, asked him how Disney will deal with the hurricane, he said he was most concerned about moving luggage for 80 guests checking out tomorrow, on the carts with no protective sides! Matt left, and within a minute, theres Mousekeeping knocking on our door again, when are you leaving? We were having one last cup of coffee, so we downed it, and left.
When we were down in March, we took pictures of our new home (still under construction), from DTD so we wanted to get pictures of it completed. Decided to catch a bus to one of the monorail resorts so we could take the monorail to MK. Whichever one came first would be the one we went on, it turned out to be CR, well it was the trip that wouldnt end! There was a tour bus (not Disney Transportation) that skidded off the road, and blocked the roadway near WL. Then we got to CR, walked around, a little to check it out (havent been in here in 10 years) got on the monorail, and it took forever to make it around the lagoon to MK.
Today was the day Little Legs was going to meet Cinderella. We were to meet in the back of the castle at 12:55, so to kill time, we let her ride the carrosel again, then they escorted us back stage. Not only was Cinderella there, but the Fairy Godmother, and most of the cast of the Cinderella and Friends show! They gave Little Legs hugs, and posed for a few pictures. I couldnt help it, Im crying, and trying to take the picture! After many, many thank yous to the cast, we stepped out of the castle, and its starting to rain. There went our plan to ride BTMRR! So, we left MK and rode over to MGM to ride RNR and ToT one last time (and grab some food). Took our stretch limo back to SSR, talking to our bus driver, Gabriel, all the way. He was looking forward to Charley (silly guy!), told us that they were going to move everyone out of the campgrounds, and relocate them at the convention center at CSR, and would bring in food for them (yea, that could be a problem if people planned on cooking over a campfire!). Waited for our limo, talking to Todd, from the DVC desk (that cracked us up too, a DVC desk in SSR! - o.k., we amuse easily!). We had the same driver, whos first question was, did I find my license?
Got to the airport, checked in with our airlines. DH and Princess had their drivers license to show (DH even had our family picture in his wallet ready to show if they questioned who I was!) Since I was on a round trip ticket, and had flown the first leg of the trip, there wasnt much problem. I had to go through additional security. The TSA guard was very nice. Guess lots of people were changing their plans, and flying out early (we heard from our limo driver the airlines were cancelling flights already for tomorrow, so lots of people were changing their plans.) Guess if you change your plans, you go through additional security, so they were busy! They let me through, so all my stressing was for nothing I guess. We boarded on time, left on time, got home on time. They managed to avoid the nasty weather from Bonnie.
Final thoughts, the resort is beautiful, the construction wasnt distracting, actually it was cool to see the buildings in different states of completion. We didnt notice any noise from DTD, and the bus service was reliable, it was hot and humid, but we took water with us, and kept drinking it! We are SO glad we bought into DVC, and were already planning our next trip home (this time with DHs sis and her sons family). But a trip to Vero may be in our near future. And next time, Im holding on tight to that darn license!
