Anybody out there have two Tivo systems? We have one in our living room and thinking about getting one for our bedroom also. Our existing has 35 hour capacity. When we go on vacation it's never enough. Plus, I'd like to watch shows while I'm on the treadmill which is in my bedroom.

If you have 2, how much is the extra cost.

Thanks,
Deb

We have 2 DVR systems through our cable company. Each box is $5 per month and the service is $10 per month, per box. So $30 a month for two. We love it and 1 box just wasn't enough for us.

I need to start watching some stuff so that everything will record while we are on vacation.

Question about Tivo -

To have an actual Tivo box, do you have to have DirectTv?

When I had Tivo through Tivo the extra box was 9 a month a believe. We've now dropped Tivo as we have it through Direct TV, however when I called to cancel with since we were only getting 1 Tivo box with DirectTV, they offered to keep the other box active for just 7 a month. So no matter what I'll call to see if yoiu can get a better deal

I read something in the paper today, I didn't follow it that closely, but I understand that if you're purchasing a Tivo right now it should be able to handle HiDef? Otherwise it won't be usable when HiDef TV starts? I'm not even sure when that change takes place, I know everyone will have to have a new TV or some kind of adapter. This TV technology thing is way beyond me.

Our Tivo is through Direct TV so we can Tivo two shows at one time. Last time we went on vacation our house sitter messed up the system and none of my shows recorded! It was good things too, like the end of Big Brother and stuff. I figure if I have one in the back, she can't mess it up ;)

I'll call and see if they have some sort of special

Our tivos are through Direct tv also. We have 3 soon to be 4 when my mom gets hers for her birthday/christmas. I don't know what the cost is but can't imagine just having one tivo now that we have a few.

I have two TiVo boxes. They both have wireless adapters and are on my wireless network so that I can transfer shows from one to the other or to my computer. :)

WHen my boyfriend moves in, we'll have 3!

We also have 2. We have the directtv dvr, I think it is an extra $4/ month. One in the family room and one in the playroom/exercise room.

We have two tivos. We had one tivo connected to our directv satellite, I could tape two shows and watch a third. We then switched over to comcast cable and I was going bonkers because I was used to being able to tape two at the same time, so we got a second one for the upstairs.

The neat thing is we have them networked over the cable modem so I can send shows to the downtstairs tivo from the upstairs one and vice versa.

Also, you can request shows be recorded on the tivo.com website and it will send the request to the tivos via the cable modem. Neato!

The comcast installer guy commented that tivo was "Like crack for white folks". He then admitted he had FOUR in his house, one for each member of his family. He was laughing, he was so busted.

Tivo rules...

ps our directv dvr was a combo unit with the satellite programming and the tivo dvr combined in one Hughes unit. It doesn't work with Comcast cable, for which we had to purchase two actual Tivo brand units.

Anybody want to buy my Directv dvr?

We have 2 TiVO's...one in the den and one in our bedroom. Got the second one free with an offer from Penney's. It just came about a week ago and we haven't hooked it up yet. Not sure what the cost is. Sorry.

Another Two TiVo family here -- we actually have three, the third one being one of the original Series 1 TiVos (which doesn't network with the others, but also still works without a service subscription). I believe the second TiVo's service charge is $6.95 per month -- a bargain, especially since you can now buy the box for just $50.
