I'm planning a wishes wedding and was wondering if anyone has price ranges for a two tier cake like the ones they use in escape weddings? Will they let wishes wedding couples use those too? I think they're so pretty and I'm not wanting a huge cake. I'll probably have around 40-50 guests and I don't want to keep the top layer so that should be enough cake for that many guests, right? Thanks! :)

A two-tier cake is going to run $200-$300, depending on the intricacy of the detail; a 2-tier Mad Hatter cake costs $450. For a Mickey's Delight cake like the one that comes in the Escape package (the one with Mickey Head stamps) I'd figure on $250.

Just make sure your planner knows that you don't intend to save the top layer for an anniversary, since it is DFTW's practice not to include it in the guest count of the cake. Also, they think the Escape cakes only serve 20, but most people have so much leftover they could easily have served 30 or more. If your planner is really insistent that a 2-tier cake won't feed your group, you can order a 1/4 sheet cake for $55 (serves 25) or cupcakes starting at $6 apiece.

Wow, thanks for all that info lurkyloo, you're awesome! That's exactly what I needed to know!

Some of Lurkyloo's info is incorrect.

2 tier cakes are priced on a per request basis. Along with the cake cost, a delivery charge is levied to offset the cost of the cast member delivering.

If the bakery at your event location can provide the cake, then your cost is reduced. If the cake must come from the Grand bakery, the delivery charge is required.

She is correct with her quote on the 2 tier hatter, but her info on the other 2 tier cakes is a bit low.

Last point, a standard 2 tier Escape size cake is a 6" over a 10". By DFTW standards, the 10" serves 30. This is the number used to calculate servings of any custom cake.

Just an FYI to avoid some disappointment.
