I rented points for two stays at Boulder Ridge, the first being 12/14-12/17 and the second 12/17-12/18. I had originally booked the first stay but then wanted to add on an additional night. I know there's a good chance we'll have to switch rooms for the last night which is fine if that's the case but is there anything I can do to mitigate those odds? Any way to link the reservations?

TIA!

Each reservation can be noted with the reservation number of the other as a "continuing/linked reservation". Each owner will need contact Member Services.

I would also mention it at the front desk when you arrive.

You most likely will not need to switch rooms.

Thanks!! I'll have to see if the companies I rented from are willing to have the members call member services but I'll at least do what I can from my end!

Yup, have your rental company contact the members. We had to add on an extra night on the front of our reservation like this and we didn’t have to switch rooms.

Last year we had a 1 br. villa for a couple of days followed by a 2 br. for several days. Since we were at Jambo and all the 2 bedrooms are lock offs (1 br.s w/ connecting door to studio) I hoped to just stay in the 1 br. & have the studio joined w/out having to check out/in. I had them linked (they were my points, so I can call MS myself.)
When I arrived I spoke to the front desk and they said no, I tried again the night before the switch to 2 br., still no. Thus, I packed up & stowed the luggage w/ Bell Services & vacated the 1 br. villa at the end of the 1 br. stay. Couple hours later I got my new villa assignment via text - I got the same 1 br. I’d just left + the studio next door, sigh.

Oh my that had to be so frustrating!! I am preparing myself for something like that but thats even worse since they were all your points!

I actually think since you are staying in the same size villa you have a better chance of not moving & not having to repack/reunpack.
I knew going in that we might have to move, & actually figured it would be less of a hassle for housekeeping to not have to do a between guest thorough cleaning if we weren’t moving, which is why I was a bit more politely inquisitive than I’d normally be. I just laughed about it when I got the new villa assignment text giving us back our ‘old’ villa. It was nice and clean :)

Agree with PP - very frustrating. You could have stayed in the same room, not having to pack and unpack again, saved time from not having to check out and check in again, etc. and Disney did not have to spend the time/resources to clean and prep you room. Oh well, at least your bed was made up again for your return.

I had the same scenario at Kidani last year and they worked it out so we didn’t have to switch. As long as you have it noted on your reservation and you are booked into the same room category it should work out. I also sent a fax a few days before that noted both reservation numbers.
