Our family of 5 with 3 DS being ages 11, 8, 5 next summer are considering either Alaska or Mediterranean based cruises. I have been researching so much as our last cruise my parents were along and we got connecting verandah rooms and our oldest slept in their space. I am considering doing either 2 connecting navigators verandah or one verandah and one inside room (one adult would sleep there). Both of these options appear to be cheaper or just about the same price as the Large family room. Has anyone else done this option or booked similar? Thanks so much.

To connecting rooms will give you more space, two bathrooms, and then a separate area for the adults from the kids without the adults having to sleep in separate rooms.

We are a family of 5 and always get two rooms. At your kids ages, we would get connecting verandah rooms and put the 3 kids in one room and DH and I in the other. Now that our kids are older, we sometimes put the older two in an inside across the hall to save some $. When we do that though, at night I stay in their room until they get in for the night and then go back to my room, which can be a pain. Sometimes the $ difference isn't worth it to me and we still get the connecting verandahs.

Time to go price exploring again. Thank you all for your help! I just can not imagine doing another cruise line right now as we are use to Disney and the level of service.
