Two Room Planning Question

Hopefully someone can help alleviate my concerns. I found it was cheaper to book two Atrium Club rooms in the Contemporary main building than it was to do a cash reservation for a 2 bedroom at BLT. I made the reservations today, but when I look at my planning party and my upcoming plans I only see my own room. I have the emails etc for the room my parents will be staying in, but I can't see them at all in My Disney Experience. For future things (like paying off the room/tickets when we get closer to the trip), and for booking Genie plus for ALL 5 of us instead of just my husband and daughter and myself, how do I go about doing this? I haven't had 2 rooms for a family or friend trip in ages and certainly not since Genie+ started. I am the planner in my family, so I do all the LL reservations and want to make sure I'll be able to buy Genie+ and do this despite it not showing their reservation in my MDE.

Also how, do I make them Park Reservations?

I have two separate reservations for a group of 7 at a different resort. Did you link both reservations in MDE? Once I did this, while on the computer, I can see both reservations and all 7 individuals. I could make park reservations for everyone. I have a place to make payments for both reservations.

Are your parents MDE profiles in your account or do they have a separate MDE account? If they have profiles in your account, you can manually link their resort reservation in your account and then assign that reservation to them. If they have a separate account, you can link the reservation there and then link your accounts through Friends and Family - make sure you check that you want to share all plans.

That's a good idea. If they haven't given you permission to plan and share with them (it's a two-way street), you won't be able to do much of anything. Be sure to share photos both ways too - so only one person in the group needs to buy Memory Maker or have the PhotoPass Downloads on their AP.

So even though we were all friends and had the option to share all plans, myself, my father, mother, husband and I (my daughter's account is managed by me). I still can't see their hotel information and it still shows that they don't have any plans with me.

I just reread your original post, and I have questions.

Can they see their resort reservation in their MDE? I don’t think that you can see it in your MDE after you link it to them.

Can you see them in your F&F list in your MDE? If so you will be able to click them and include them in purchases of Genie+, ILL$, etc. You do not need to be able to see their resort reservation in your MDE. You only need to be able to see them and be set to make plans for them.

They don't share any plans with you. Their hotel reservation and your hotel reservation aren't "shared plans."

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to be able to make all the payments from my account as well, but it's fine that I can't see their room reseveration. How can I tell if they did put in the information about us traveling together and we'd like adjoining or nearby rooms?

If you have their name, address, and confirmation number, Disney will let you make payments against their reservation over the phone. Not quite as simple as doing it ride from your MDX, but it's something.

They can put a "traveling with" note on the room reservation but it's nothing you'll be able to see on the user end.

Also, I noticed using the 50th Anniversary APP , opens up almost everything you would ever need to know about your friends and family. .. I was just checking out all the different things on the APP and !!!

Not sure if we are talking about the same thing, but I can "see" my friends reservation on my MDE. No I can't make changes/payments but can see it (including their confirmation #)

Yeah I cannot see the reservation for my parents. I made both of the reservations at the same time.
