Two rest days, or two half park days?

So I can't seem to decide, so I'm curious what you all would do! I had a trip planned, and I was only supposed to be there for 4 full days, one park per day. I got crazy and decided to extend it, and now I'll have 6 full days. Lol. I haven't gotten to do anything like this since the earlier Disney days, where it was cheaper for me to do so. At first, I was just going to use the two days to see the resorts, go to Springs, pool, etc. But now, I'm debating adding a park day (or two), but not doing full park days.

I was thinking of still having my relaxation time in the mornings, and spending my nights at the parks, or vice versa. There are some things I really want to do at the resorts, but like I said, I haven't gotten the opportunity to go to a park more than one day on a trip for a longggg time. It would be nice to be able to go back to my favorite parks, and do stuff I missed.

I would definitely go with two half days.

I will start with I'm not a big DS fan. We went for the first time in about 14 years on our last trip. I can see going back on arrival day or do another morning there but I can't see myself spending a whole day or even a complete half day there.

We did rest days our first 1-2 trips because that's what the boards said you needed to do to have a good trip. Well it didn't work for us. by 4-5 pm I am itching to get into a park.

We go for 8-10 days and get length of stay tickets. We mix up our days with RD (we try to do each park once for RD), midday break and PM park and late starts. On the late start days we sometimes just sleep in and hit a park by noon and sometimes we do the pool and hit a park by 3 pm.

This works really well for us and allows us time to sleep in and get lots of rest but we also get to do so much.

I love having more than one park day per park. It lowers my intensity levels knowing that if something I want is down that's fine, I'll have another shot at it. I'm also more willing to take some time to see shows or wander shops, it doesn't feel like I'm wasting valuable ride time.

All that in mind I think you can wait and see how you're feeling as I think you can add days to your tickets until park close on the last day you use them- but verify the details with our ticket gurus on the ticket thread first before depending on it ;)

On our last few trips we've had just enough time to spend one day in each park. Even on older trips when we would go for a week, we always had at least a 1/2 day in a park. It's just our nature - we are doers and not good at sitting still. LOL.

It sounds like you would love the flexibility to go back to a couple of parks during your trip. My advice would be to go for the extra days on your ticket. Closer to your trip you can decide if you want to go for the mornings or evenings depending on your mood, the weather, any new shows, etc. Have fun with whatever you decide!

^This is how I see the best way to balance park time with recharging and exploring. Instead of taking full days off just mix in some shorter park days instead. Makes for a smoother pace. Our next trip is 8 days and that’s the plan with an 8 day ticket. It’ll be nice having sleep-in days, spreading out time to enjoy our resorts, more chances for VQs, helps working around party dates, allows more flexibility for backup plans, etc.

6 park days can weave together a better flow with more room for adjustments.

It really makes park touring enjoyable. Once you get to 5-6 days adding park days onto your ticket isn't that much more money so it just made sense for us.

It was such a good deal in my head during FP+. I knew I would be walking into a park around 5-6 pm, ride 3 rides and catch the nighttime show. I actually like G+ (minus the paying for it part) and this works really well with stacking too, especially with a late start at DHS.

Last trip we were there during Hurricane Nicole. The parks closed early and the next day started late. Having length of stay tickets let us make up that time and really didn't effect us at all. We just swapped a few things around.
