About a month ago I got a great deal on 5 nights of our previously booked 7 night stay at WL.

The first two nights of our stay are at the posted value season rate and the remaining 5 for about $70 less. The CM on the phone said he had to create a new reservation for the special "code" price and he told me I would have to check out and check back in on the third day. I may or may not get the same room.

At the time I was just so thrilled to get the deal it never fazed me but now that we are 16 days away, I am starting to panic a bit.

Has anyone ever had to do this? Do you really have to pack up and move? Is it possible to take care of everything on the day we first arrive?

You will have to check in and out again, but you should be able to keep the same room. They have to do this so they can issue you new room keys/IDs. We did this 2 years ago and it was no problem. Just make sure to mention when you check in the first time that you have 2 reservations and that you would like to keep the same room.

Hope you have a great trip!

No worries, happens all the time... Make sure when you check in that you mention to the CM that you have a continuing reservation and would like to make sure you are in the same room. As long as both reservations are booked for the same category (room type) it is not an issue at all. The only thing is that you can not check both in when you arrive, the computer thinks you are 2 different people, so you will need to stop at the desk and check out and check back in, this takes about 5 minutes, sign a new regestration card and get new room keys, but you will no be required to pack up and move out (again provided the reservations are booked for the same room type).

It truley happens A LOT so don't worry they will know exactlly what you are talking about and will more than likely already have it blocked for your continuing reservation anyway, just make sure when you check in.

We also have two reservations for the same stay. I wanted to be able to take advantage of our Length of Stay passes, so I booked an extra night after the package nights so we could hit the parks during the day and catch a flight home the next day. But if we check out and check back in and they give us new room cards, will they deactivate the ones with our LOS park passes on them?

I am not an expert on this, but I am pretty sure that "length of stay" passes are good until the parks close on the day you check out. You should be fine.

MsSpinShady, you should be fine. Your passes will not be any good the day you leave but they will be good to use the entire last day in the parks, even though you will have to switch room keys. Make sure, though, that you talk with the CM when you are checking in your first day. Have fun and DON'T PANIC!!!

Thank you cathy59 and pratersloveDW - I will sleep much better tonight now! This is the first time we've ever purchased our tickets with the room so I'm not sure how things work.

I'll be sure to talk with the CM when we check in.

Aloha!
