This is an area that I was never happy with. It always looked yukkie and the dog would frequently lay there. Well, there are plenty of other shady spots for the dog to relax in so I didn't feel guilty last weekend putting up this little fence. The two hostas I had divided from a larger one last year. The one further away was originally just a couple of leaves when I planted it there and the dog would lay on it, so I am quite surprised that it has survived, even though it is still quite small. Closest plant is a zinnia I picked up the other weekend. On the other side of the gate, is a smaller area like this and I put some pachysandra there this Spring that seem to be taking nicely.

The area on the other side of the gate has some bricks as a border. I had at one point tried to do the same on this closer side but the cement work around the dirt is weird and I could not dig down deep enough. The dirt is always coming onto the walkway, even in the area that has the brick edge. My hope is that in a couple of years, the two hostas will just cover the entire dirt area and the pachysandra on the other side of the gate do the same.

This is one of my houseplant that became a disaster once I bought outside -- Mother-in-Law's tongue. It didn't burn like the other plants but it is quite a sorry sight. They are suppose to be upright. Actually, I think they are no longer appropriate for the Snoopy container.

Thanks again for viewing my photos. This is fun but I better get to work! :earseek:

Lookin' Good Tuli :)

What can you say about a MIL Tongue sometimes they burn, sometimes they get burned.

Nice job Tuli!!!! I love looking at others work and getting ideas and seeing the different plants...some I've never even heard of.

love the snoopy - I have no idea what that plant is supposed to look like - but it made me smile!
