1) Worried about banking deadlines?

I thought that if you bank your points as soon as you get them and therefore not worry about the deadlines that you can always borrow them back during that year. So why not just bank right away until you decide on a vacation. I am thinking I am missing something. Am I?

2) If I purchased an add-on (promo at SSR) would I be able to request it as a separate contract. Ie. my first contract is at SSR and I do not want to have these extra points pooled with my original points in one contract. I would like to have two separate contracts in case I want to sell some of my points one day. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I can't believe I am thinking of an add-on.....

Thanks.

1) Banking and borrowing are irreversible transactions. If you bank your points for this Use Year, you would need to borrow from the next Use Year if you later change your mind and need points to travel during the current UY. You can not undo the banking transaction.

2) An add-on is just that- it will be added onto an existing contract and will have the same Use Year. If you want a separate contract altogether, just make another 150 point purchase and you'll be all set. For any purchase, thru DVC directly ,of less than 150, it will be an extension of an existing contract.

Enjoy!

I knew I just had to be missing something. I banked all my first year points but I just remembered that the ones I just borrowed were not those banked points but the ones from 2006. Oh boy...too good to be true.

Question....curious.......what if your add-on is an add-on from a different resort from your original contract? It can't be one contract in that situation. yes? no?

oops....just went over your response you said any add-on under 150 points is one contract. But it can't be with a different resort because I see all those small contracts (former add-ons) on the resale sites. Help Doc...Help?!??!

The above is incorrect as to the add-on being part of your original contract for the purpose of a future sale. The add-on will be in the same use year and count with your other points when determining how much you can bank and when, but the add-on contract creates a separate and new property interest that can be sold separately from your original contract.

While your add-on will be part of your initial contract, the ID # will have a different suffix so that you would, in the future, be able to sell it separately if you wanted. Example: initial contract number is 5000.000 and add-on number would be 5000.001. It is like having the best of both worlds, in that you have all the points for making ressies at 11 months but you can still sell or bequeath them separately.

Add-ons may be as small as 25 points at any resort. It will still be a separate deed with a unique contract number, but will be part of your original contract.

All contracts will have a suffix (.001, .002, .003, etc.) that identifies them uniquely from the master contract and these may be sold separately if desired. That is what you are seeing listed among the resale listings.

You could have a master contract at OKW and own 25 points (or any larger number) at VB, HH, BWV, VWL, BCV and/or SSR. Each of those smaller contracts are combined with the master OKW contract, each will have it's own unique suffix (.001, .002, etc) and each could be sold separate from the master contract. (The master contract could also be sold, keeping the smaller contracts of desired.)

Enjoy!
