Two questions Would you pay more for Moderate? If so, which one?

I am feeling bad because my Dh had wanted to stay someplace nicer than value, and I think the kids will prefer value, so why not just save the money?

Well he is very stressed out at work and I would like to surprise him with nicer, since my DD 6 is easy going and won't care, and DS 2 won't know any better.

If enough of you think it is not worth the money I may just stay with the All Star Music. I really think the Deluxe is out of our range, but if they will transfer BDP code yet again, I might try! Let me know what you think!

We are going Feb 4-8 so I am also unsure if it is worth the extra cost since we will probably not swim. If one has nice grounds, we may explore though!

Which is your favorite?

When we've stayed in moderates, we've preferred Riverside. Either of the resorts in Riverside is fine. We do not like Coronado at all. Way too big. We had to drive to the pool.

We've stayed at POFQ twice and LOVE it. After all the "over-the-top" stuff all day it's so relaxing to go back to that resort. The kids love the pool area and everything is close to the bus stop.

We switched from ASMo to CBR on our trip and we LOVED it!! The grounds of CBR are beautiful and the staff was great. I have great memories of my kids playing in the sand and on the playground while I got to lounge next to them in a hammock, ahhhhhhhhhhh

CSR is fantastic, but if you are not going to swim, I would stay with a value. If you were going to enjoy resort grounds and could swing a std. room at AKL, go for it! There is a lot to do at the resort.

Another vote for POFQ. I usually stay in deluxe or DVC and was very pleasantly surprised with POFQ. The rooms are very nice. My two DSs loved the pool with the dragon. Also, the resort is not too big so the pool and bus stop is an easy walk from any room.
(Also stayed at CSR- it was okay but would probably not stay there again.)

We enjoyed the beautiful landscaping at POR. The rooms are bigger and we loved taking the boat to DTD. Quiet pools were nice too! We really feel moderates are well worth the extra $. Much quieter than our previous experience at AsMu. Also moderates have hot tubs which are great after a long day at the parks.

DH and I stayed at CSR our first time to Disney together. It was my first onsite stay and his first ever. We absolutely LOVED it. I went back several times for business. As the event planner for my company I picked this resort 2 additional times. I love the resort.

If your DH is stressed, taking him here! Have him take a nice stroll around the lake in the morning and then again at night. It is such a beautiful view and so peaceful.

I also stayed at GF and the Dolphin. If you are looking to treat your DH to a nice upgrade without breaking the bank, go to CSR! The difference to the deluxe was not so grand to me.

We booked POR and then decided to upgrade to the Contemporary on the BDP code. They will let you upgrade, but they won't let you move back down once you do. POR and POFQ seem to be the nicest of the moderates. The others seem way too spread out. Though if you do POR, the mansions seem much nicer. The pools at both POR and POFQ sound really fun! You can go to www. allearsnet.com and look at pictures, but both sides of Port Orleans have been renovated and I'm not sure the pictures are updated.

Has anyone stayed at the Polynesian? Do you prefer the contemporary?
thank you

In the warmer months we (hubby and I) prefer POR (for the "quiet" pools and shade). The grands much prefer the values.

Looks like we will be staying where we are! Just called CRO and nothing with BDP rate and I don't want to pay full price, so I guess we are stuck unless a code comes out! Thanks for all your advice!

Hi- We are brand new at this and I'm not sure what BDP rate is? I am looking for a way to get a better deal on a moderate resort than is offered thru the Disney website. Where do I go? Thanks from a Disney novice! :earboy2:

You should start a seperate thread if you want opinions on the Polynesian or Contemporary. You are more likely to get the responses you are looking for that way :)

CSR has the most ammenities of all the moderates. They have a health club, salon, and more room service options.

My husband and I stayed solo at All-Star Movies once and although it was very nice, we did feel like cattle at the bus stops and the food court. Very crowded. Our only other on-site comparison, though, is Fort Wilderness in one of the units there when all the kids were with us. We loved that but it was expensive.

POFQ is about 130.00 a night. Will there be public discount codes? If there is about how much will the rooms be then?
