1.) Which restaraunt do you prefer, Lumiere's or the King Triton one? I know they are on different ships but I am just interested, it will not make or break our desicion, we will go on a Magic Cruise for sure.

2.) How much could we expect to pay for our meals during the cruise?

Thanks

Lumiere's and Triton's have essentially the same menu.

You will pay nothing, except for your tips - unless you decide to go to Palo, where an exceptional dinner will cost an additional $10/person. :thumbsup2

Hi! I can't help you out on your first question because we've only done the 3 day cruise and have eaten at Triton's. However, we're going on a 7 night cruise for spring break, so we'll get to experience Lumiere's then. :cool1:

You may already know this (I might have misunderstood your question), but you don't pay for your meals on the cruise. They are included with the price of your cruise with the exception of Palo's. Of course, you also pay for alcoholic drinks or "fancy" drinks for the kids. Soft drinks are free at dinner. Hope this helps. :confused3

Wow really?!?

as you probably know irght now, i have never cruised.
Well thanks.

Also, does that even include the non-formal restaraunts? like Topsiders. and scoops and the pizzeria?

It sure does include the other restaurants! Isn't that great? We just cruised for the first time and fell in love with it! You really could stay on the ship and not spend any additional money other than tips if you had good self control (which I don't :teeth: ). It was the excursions that really added to our trip, but we decided we might not ever cruise again :lmao: --I know--silly us, so we did everything we wanted to just in case it was a "once in a lifetime" trip. It was well worth the money and has so far been the best vacation we've ever taken. We can't wait to do the 7 night for spring break! :thumbsup2

I actually did not know that meals were included thank you so much, now i really want to cruise!!!

Actually one more general questoin about the cruise...
Has anyone ever seen the other ship while it was out at sea? Like seen the Magic from the Wonder or does this absolutely never happen

I just want to make sure you know that almost all food is included in the price of your cruise--even room service. There are some items you have to pay for from room service, but they have a pretty good menu of stuff that is "free". We ordered room service each day, and my kids thought that was awesome! We took a bunch of one dollar bills so we could tip whoever brought our food to us from room service.

We ordered everything from cheese and crackers, fruit, milk and cookies, cheeseburgers, and chicken strips and fries. All of these things were free from room service. It was great! Let me know if you have any more questions. Glad to help if I can. :)

This happens only rarely. If one ship is avoiding hurricanes or when the wonder came back from dry dock, they were both at Port Canaveral. I don't think they are normally "scheduled" to cross paths. But it has been known to happen - and they talk via the ships horn - really neat.

I think I remember reading that the Wonder/Magic pass on Friday evenings ~11:00pm. Someone may be able to verify this...

Is there a limit to the amount of food you can order? For example can a person order 2 appetizers if they wished to sample both, can a person order 2 desserts, 2 main courses  , etc...

Some of those might be exagerations but I'm curious what limits, if any, they have on the amount of food you can order.

Thanks.

You can definitly order 2 appetizers, main courses, desserts.... I have never heard of a limit, probably whatever you can eat in 2 hours ;)

If you have early seating, you are probably limited to whatever you can eat before they kick you out for the people coming for the late seating :lmao:

Yes, you can order everything on the menu! And if you order something and you don't like it, your servers will bring you something else. They really want you to be happy!

My answer to your first question is I prefer Lumiere's. The menu is the same I am pretty sure, but I enjoyed myself more in Lumiere's.

My dh and I took our first ever cruise on NCL last Feb. One night he couldn't decide between two main courses, so the server brought him two. There were two spring breakers (young teenage girls) dining alone at the next table. They were horrified that "that man was eating two meals!" We, being the rebellious old farts that we are laughed! Most days we indulged room service, three meals, and snacks. All that added up to a huge weight gain, but you only go around once! I can diet when I get home. :stir:

Not only can you order as much as you like, they will sometimes send you extra. When we were on the Magic last year, I called to order one cheese plate, 2 cookies, 1 glass of milk and a mickey bar. I was asking the woman on phone about the chocolate cake and told her that I just loved mickey bars. I ended up with 8 cookies, 3 glasses of milk, the chocolate cake, 2 cheese plates and 2 mickey bars. The waiter that delivered it said that it happens all the time. Gotta love that DCL guest service. Can not wait to go back.
