I am so confused! It is so hard to make these decisions!! I need your help!

We are planning to do a FL trip Dec. 11-20. It will be mostly Disney <gasp>, but we want to try Universal too. I've decided to do Universal on the weekend, Dec. 16,17, and stay at HRH one night, so we can have FOTL privilages. Now I'm thinking it won't be enough time. Should I do 3 days at Universal and two nights at HRH? Then I'm afraid we won't have enough Disney time. If we do 3 days at Universal that would give us 4 park days at Disney, plus one day of DisneyQuest with the Christmas party that evening. We've been to WDW once before and felt 5 park days to be not quite enough. Our travel days will be spent only traveling, and maybe a meal.

Please help me, I'd love to hear your opinions.
TIA

Stay the 2 nights at the HRH and do it at the end of your trip. Once you try FOTL, you won't want to wait in the lines at Disney.

People always get brainwashed into thinking they need more time at Disney than they really do. This is because Disney tricks people into thinking they need an entire day at each park, and to go slow like turtles. Then people feel bad about taking days away from Disney, like it's a bad thing. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to see everything.

What you do, is visit one park early in the morning, rest in the afternoon, then visit another at night. The parks will be staying open late in December, so you'll have lots of time to tour.

As robvia said, it's definitely better to go to UO at the end of your trip. That would be my 1st choice. Although I know WDW can be very busy on the weekends, it shouldn't be really bad when you're there. The closer you get to Christmas the busier it gets.

2nd option..... Personally, I'd skip DQ. We enjoy going there, but only because we've been to the parks so many times. I wouldn't shortchange any of the parks to go there. What day are you going to MVMCP? You could spend 2 nights at HRH & 3 days in the parks, using the 3rd park day prior to the party. Check out of HRH, go to the UO parks, then check back into your new resort prior to the party.

Best option..... Check in at WDW on 11th. Spend the evening in Epcot, if you arrive in time. If not, tour the resorts to see the Christmas decorations. Spend Tue. thru Sun. at WDW parks. This will give you 6 or 6 1/2 days at WDW. I know most people recommend you don't go to a park on the night you're going to the party. The reason for this is that most people don't want to pay park admission twice in one day. If you want to see it all, it's worth it to spend the money & go to the parks rather than DQ. If you're worried about being tired for the party, come back to the room in time to rest up before heading back. During the Christmas season, you definitely want to spend as much time as possible at WDW. Plan to spend at least 2 days in Epcot. 2 1/2 would be better, giving you 3 evenings there. AK & MGM are where you can maximize your time. IMHO, neither of them require a full day.

On Monday, move to HRH. Spend Mon. & Tue. in their parks. Be at the parks on Wed. when they open, & spend as much time as possible before leaving for home. The resorts at UO are great. You want to have time to enjoy your hotel not just the parks.

You have a great trip planned! I love Christmas in the parks. :)
