Two Nerds Do Disney World - FINAL Update 5/12

While we were sitting there, opening pins and singing along to the High School Musical thing, a PP Photographer came up to us and said “do you guys want to have some fun?”

What a line!! I can't tell you how many times I've heard that one.

There was also one where he made us kiss but who wants to see that? OMG ew! I don’t really care for this pic but Lumar likes it so whatever.

We stopped at a little table next to ABC Commissary…I got a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich and a bottle of water (FOR FREE!!! ) from the little cart. I tried to pay the CM with my card but her system froze and she couldn’t ring it up so she just told me to take it. That was so nice of her! And they tasted better because I didn’t have to pay for them!

Free?? In Disney World? Wow! Score.

Lumar made a pit stop (for 20 minutes)

The next thing we did was get FP’s for Star Tours then we went to Mama Melrose’s where we had an ADR. FINALLY I HAVE PICS!!! We ordered the Artisan Bread Plate for an appetizer:

Apparently Aladdin is a white kid, and no offense, but I have seen this Jasmine before and she just looks too old for the part. She reminds me of Joan Rivers. Does anyone else think so or am I just being mean??

I have to agree with you. Especially Aladin. He don't look right! Maybe it's the winter in Agrabah. Gets you a little pale. Jasmine looks like she has aged.

Finally at 5:30 we made it back to the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater and I really wanted to get a good seat this time since I was stuck behind a pole in October. We headed into the theater, stood in line to get Lumar a churro, and then got seated in the Mickey section – right smack in the middle! It was awesome, definitely the best seats ever!

Nice!! How long did you have to wait for it to start? Did you get there really early?

I feel like I'm being really mean but I swear that is like a 45 year old lady trying to play Jasmine! Jasmine is my favorite princess (mainly just because she has a pet tiger ) so I thought I was being overly critical...but as long as other people see it too then I feel better!

Maybe they used Steve from Full House?

I must remember that PP picture for August.

Steve was MUCH cuter...but at least the voice would have been accurate!!!

That pic was taken on one of the benches down the stairs in front of Starring Rolls. The HSM show was going on at the time...I don't know if the PP guys are only out during the shows (they're like every half hour or something like that so you won't have to wait long ) but he came up to us....

Mystery Pin Packs - so you can buy them in MK and MGM? How many pins are in each? What is the cost? I have never seen these!

The mystery pin packs are available anywhere they sell pins, in all the parks and DTD. They have boxed sets that come with 2 pins per box and they have tins that come with either 2 or 4 per tin, depending on the set. Most sets have a total of 10 pins. We are totally addicted to it.

-When the PP photographer said that I was like uhhhhh.....that's kinda creepy and if I wasn't in WDW I would think you were a huge perv
-I'll post the other HSM pic tonight when I get home just for you since you asked!!
-I know I was shocked that she told me to just not worry about paying her! But my brother got like 2 or 3 freebies in October so I deserved at least one this time!
-OMG the Artisan Breads were sooo good! I can't remember what the green spread was - It was Lumar's favorite out of the three they gave us. The fresh garlic was really good but the roasted vegetable was my favorite by far! However, it was this meal that caused the um...ahem..."explosions" later on that night I don't know what it was specifically but both of us woke up in the middle night with severe stomach pain....it wasn't pretty. Just a warning
-I know that for parades they don't worry too much about making the face characters a perfect match, because most people don't sit there with a 12x zoom trying to catch the beads of sweat like I do. But this was just a little much for me.... That Jasmine is the same one that was in this parade when we came last December. Ariel wasn't too bad, I just got a bad shot of her.
-By the time we waited in line for a churro and actually got a seat it was 6pm and the show started at 7 so we still only waited an hour. I think we just got lucky this time, but man was I happy!!

-I tried so hard to remember to take pics of food on this trip and I was just so stinkin' hungry that we ended up half finished with our meals before I remembered I was supposed to remember....

Buzz - I apologize because I misunderstood what you were talking about with Finding Nemo being worse the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Lumar was reading this the other night and had to explain it to me. Sorry I'm dum But it's just the whale coming out of the murky darkness that is scary...not the whole thing. And TCM wasn't scary anyway. Horror flicks don't do it for me anymore. Now Saw on the other hand terrifies me I hate that little puppet guy!

Lumar immediately said yes…I, on the other hand, said “that depends on your idea of fun…” The photographer laughed…I didn’t. I wanted to know what I was getting myself into before committing to anything. So he hands Lumar a HSM basketball and me a couple of red and white pom-poms, tells us how to pose and this was the result:

I honestly had never heard of HSM until I went to MGM. My wife was like "What!?! Everyone knows what High School Musical is". Sadly, I didn't.

When we went back to ride RnRC, the wait for ToT was 20 minutes. I told Lumar to go get FP’s anyway, just in case. We rode RnRC, went back to ToT and the wait was ZERO! We walked through the queue, ALONE, and got ride into the library on the right.
When we got off, the sign said 5 minutes so we rode again, and then gave our FP’s to someone else when we exited. The return time was for like an hour later so he had some time to wait for the line to get long again, which I’m sure it did.

I love it when you get to ride the huge attractions and there's no wait.

well at least you're TRYING to be on a diet. I tried once and I was doing pretty good - I cut out chocolate and unnecessary extras like french fries...I lost like 10 pounds in 2 months. And then we went to WDW in October and I haven't been able to get myself back on track since.
