Have FUN!! I have to enjoy hearing about the party thru all of you who are going.
I love MNSSHP a LOT but we just can’t justify the price anymore. Now, we have to choose whether to go to ONE party versus paying for a week’s worth of Multi-pass and Single Pass.
We will not be paying for fast pass.

I think if you have it within your budget and it's something you enjoy then you should do it.

We are going on Oct 29th.

Went on the 15th and had a great time-weather very cooperative! But saw this thread title and wondered how many purchase for 2 parties as weather insurance? Making MNSSHP a trip tradition, but wondering how those who plan multiple parties factor in the weather?

I could be wrong but based on the conversations, I believe the majority of guests who purchase 2 parties do so to accomplish everything they wish to do at the parties, not so much as 'weather insurance.' Party tickets are non-refundable so it's an expensive bit of 'insurance'. Also, since all parties sell out, I hope most do not purchase 2 parties with the intention to only attend one as that means guests who truly plan to go, cannot get tickets that another guest has no intention of using.

To be clear, I would absolutely attend both. And I have read about the haphazard refunding of tickets that happens when weather events occur. What I am asking is- who attends- and plans on attending- two parties for (or in part of) the rainy weather WDW is known for in the fall. For those who love Halloween it probably doesn't feel like toomuch.

Just came back from a trip where I did 2 parties and I don't regret it! Did a few things I wanted to do during my first party but ran into a little bit of rain and honestly just a little bit of bad luck throughout the night that made me decide to leave the party earlier than I would normally have. My second party was perfect, got to do everything else I wanted to do that I couldn't accomplish on the first night. Even with a little bit of rain both nights, it was well worth it. If I ever do another solo trip in the fall, I'll do two parties again.

Good to hear. Thinking planning on 2 parties- especially in September, may be the way to go.

My friends and I do two parties. Not for weather insurance but to make sure we get everything done that we want. One party we focus on Pictures, rides, snacks. The other we focus on Parade, fireworks and anything else. We get as many rides in for both parties also as we can and trick or treat on both days LOL :)

This is exactly what we just did on the 27th and 29th. The 27th was our first party ever and we booked the second one so we could experience a party in a totally different way. The first one we focused on all the entertainment, rode very few rides, and collected full bags of candy while enjoying the atmosphere. The second party was more for rides, one parade, and more full bags of candy. Both were fun and I see why people love them, but to be honest we'll probably skip these parties in the future. In our opinions, other than the parade and Rusty Cutlass (with an Rrrrrrr!), the rest of it was just meh. We'd much rather spend our money on After Hours events that tend to be less crowded and cater to our vibe more.

I wound up doing 3 parties this year, so I would definitely do that again

OP here. Thanks to all who responded. After much discussion we decided to just do one party. There are also so many other things that we want to do and it has been several years since we went WDW. We are going on Oct 27th. Praying that the hurricanes and tropical storms call it quits for the season or forever!
