May 9 – day 3

It’s another sunny day in Florida. :flower: We have coffee and chocolate chip cookies again on the terrace. Boy that Cape May buffet is generous! As I write this trip report I think of my sister-in-law Janet who would love this vacation. I dedicate my trip report to her, as she wishes she were here. :teleport:

12:15 – time for a nutritious lunch of beer and pistachio nuts. This is our standard lunch every day. I just can’t believe the weather so far. Blue sky, no clouds or humidity. As they say in Florida “mostly sunny”. The weather just keeps us at the pool til after 5PM.

We walk to Epcot and hear music in Canada. It’s Off Kilter. They play rock music in kilts. We loved their version of Sweet Home Alberta and Danny Boy. Imagine a band that can rock and roll and make you laugh at the same time. You really must hear them.

We then walk around to America to see the (Flower Power) Lovin’ Spoonful. They were great – did “Hot Town Summer in the City” and “Do You Believe in Magic?” – what a perfect Disney song. :rockband:

We continue on to Germany to look at the cuckoo clocks. We love them, especially the ones where they drink beer every hour!

Our leisurely pace ends as we shoot over to Test Track (single rider line-no wait). Then back across to the Land for Soarin. It is 8:25 and the wait if 40 minutes. Another major decision – Illuminations or Soarin? JM assures me we’ll be out on time, so Soarin it is. JM loved this attraction – would have rode it all night if she could. We are out at 8:55 and run to see Illuminations. Again my new Mizuno sneakers are at full throttle. We manage to make it all the way to the UK where we have a great view. JM is a little disappointed – never quite got over the first few Illuminations – they were her favorites. They used to feature each country with different music and it seemed like more fireworks. Well enough about Illuminations – we are not critics, still had a lot of fun. A great day indeed, but it’s not over yet.

For the grand finale – dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. JM loves that baby spinach salad and I get a pot of mussels. JM asks for advice choosing a Merlot. I am set with the 17 oz schooner of Sam Adams. Frosted Mug which weighted about 5 lbs. – building up those beer muscles. :drinking1 Chateaubriand for two is the main course. You know I’m a happy man. If I had to go home tomorrow I’d feel like a great trip was had by us. The bill came to $107 after the 20% discounts was applied. A generous tip to our waitress for great service and a great wine recommendation. JM & I call it a night. I have a beer on the terrace as I write this report.
