My first ever Pre-Trip report! I have done two trip reports before so I think its time I do a Pre-trip report this time around as well. If you don't know who I am, I am Ryan. I am 17 and a huge disney fan just like most of us here. My first trip was when I was 8 months old (Don't ask me anything about it because I don't know). This January I will be participating in the Walt Disney World Half Marathon and 5K. Last year was my first experience with runDisney and Marathon Weekend. Lets just say I loved it and am basically addicted.

This year I convinced my mom again to let me go back. I also convinced my grandma to be my travel mate. It of course didn't stop there tho. My two sisters (13, and 9) and My Grandma's sister.

This will give my parents a whole week to themselves in January. I don't think that has ever happened before. Being from Wisconsin we hope for some warm weather in Florida in January. Last year it was not very warm 40s and 50s for the majority of our trip with some 70s at the end. Hopefully its 60s+ for this trip.

Now to introduce who will be accompanying me.

My Grandmother Dorothy! My father is her only child and my sisters and I are her only grandchildren, so you could say we are spoiled a bit by her. Her last time to Disney was in the 80s when she took my dad. She is excited for this trip as much as we are. My grandfather doesn't like to fly so he will be staying home. Unfortunately I don't have a recent picture of her right now but if i get one I'll add it.

My great Aunt Judy. I don't know when her last disney trip was but was wanted to join us so why not.

My sisters Jordan and Sydnee. Jordan is a big basketball player and is on a traveling team for that. She will also be running the 5k along with me.

Sydnee will be running the Mickey Mile. She is 9 and is as energetic as ever. Neither of them have been on vacation without my parents.

As you can tell I am the only guy on this trip. Being that I am going to my favorite place I think I will be able to survive but we'll see.

The Details...

We are staying at the Beach Club! My first time there and my first time at a deluxe for that matter.

We are doing the regular dining plan and have a 5 day park hopper. We also have meory maker.

We are going to arrive Tuesday, January 5th and leave Monday, January 11th.

Three total runDisney races
Mickey Mile: Sydnee
5K: Ryan and Jordan
Half: Ryan

Airfare and Dining yet to be booked Southwest fares open tomorrow!

Dining we can start booking July 9th! We are starting to narrow down our choices for that as well. I'll make our ADR plan in the next couple of days.

I finally got a chance to stop over here and read your introductions. I love that both of your sisters will also be doing races - looks like you started a family additction!

So ... Southwest fares opened yesterday (I think) - did you book yet? I think booking airfare is what finally makes the trip feel official! (Although, really, once you registered for the races, it was already official enough)

Yes southwest fares did open but we didn't book yet. We will likely book early this coming week. Thanks for following along.

Sounds like a great trip, and while I'm sure your parents will love the time to themselves, if I were them I would see you off at the airport and then hop my own flight to somewhere warm!

That's also my dads birthday week so I'm sure they'll do something.

Tomorrow is ADR day!

Here's what I am looking to get...
1/5 nothing arrival day
1/6 50's Prime Time
1/7 Be Our Guest Dinner
1/8 Portobello
1/9 Chefs de France
1/10 1900 park fare
1/11 Cape May Cafe

ADR's are booked!

1/5/15
Arrival day. Looking at arriving late so no parks, and no table services. We will probably just grab a bite to eat at the BC.

1/6/15
First park day! We will be hitting the Expo right at opening at 10 AM. Once done there we will head over for the afternoon at DHS. Since I couldn't get a good time at 50's Prime time like I wanted right now we are scheduled at Akershus in Epcot at 5:30pm.

1/7/15

5K day! Mickey Mile Day! After the 5K we will head to MK for the morning until we leave for the Mickey Mile at WWOS. After the Mickey Mile we will head back to MK. I wanted a Be Our Guest Dinner but only got a lunch right now. We will likely change that to a BOG breakfast when those reservations come out later. We will still have a table service meal for that day so we will likely go somewhere else in the MK.

1/8/15
AK and DTD day. We will spend the majority of the day at Animal Kingdom. After that we will head over for dinner at Portobello at DTD at 7:20pm. After Dinner we will shop around the soon to be Disney Springs.

1/9/15
Half marathon day! After my first half marathon we will head to Epcot for some celebration. We have a 5:00 dinner at Chefs de France. We will spend the rest of the night there and watch illuminations.

1/10/15
1900 Park fare at 8:00 AM and then MK after for the day.

1/11/15
Last day no parks... We will however have breakfast at Cape May Cafe at 8:35 AM at the BC. we are planning on leaving late so depending on out Magical Express pick up time we may head out to DTD again.

Your ADRs and plans look great! I think that hitting the expo right at 10 is a great idea - you'll make it there before the crowds and hopefully be in and out faster than those of us planning to go later in the day.
I think BOG will be a nice breakfast after the 5K ... I hope you can get it!

Thanks! Yeah that's the whole plan to get in and out of the expo before the crowds.

This is the start of my Trip itinerary that will probably change 10 times before then.

The beginning of the itinerary looks good ... but I'm sure it will change a lot. That's the good thing about planning 6 months out - you've got plenty of time to adjust and make things perfect!

Exactly, when I did mine for last year it changed a lot.

Hi Ryan, I'm Ashleigh. Following along- I've done countless trips to Disney, but none for a race weekend, so I feel like a newbie. Looks like you have some great ADRs. Super cool that your sisters are going AND running!

Thanks for joining in the fun! This will be my second run weekend but my sisters first so it should be interesting.

Hey, Ryan!! Your ADRs look great - we'll be at BoG at the same time!! So excited y'all were able to grab a dinner spot - it's easily my favorite dinner at MK these days.
