Two Graduations, the world and a DISmeet

Brandi, I like the way you think! Honestly, at $25 per pitcher, the breakfast sangria is actually pretty affordable for drinking in WDW, I think.

I thought that was a requirement for SGC. Yes, as far as drinks go i think that as a decent price.

I think the Kitchen Sink is a great idea! :cool1:

I think it looks interesting and a little bit of everything.... Should meet everyone's taste for the evening... Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, pineapple, peanut butter, nuts, sprinkles, cookies, cake, brownies, cherries, and marshmallow

Really what else do you need?

Kristi and have that on our todo list :goodvibes

I think it might be fun! I know that my MIL and FIL would NEVER do anything like this but for the 4 of us, I think it might be fun! Lots of sugar induced laughter.

Whew! I finally caught up! Your trip sounds awesome, but I would have never had the patience to deal with the indecisiveness of family! You are a saint! and to change from BCV to BWV like you did! I just closed on a BCV contract, and I can't wait to stay there!

We leave in 12 days, for a quick trip that we didn't plan until 3 months ago once they announced the Destinaion-D schedule. I can't wait to hear about your F&W adventures as we will be there a couple weeks after you. We got back from DC about 3 days ago, and I'm sorry to say we missed the spy museum. I was reallly looking forward to it, but we had so many others on the agenda we didn't make it. I loved your photos of the Newseum and the cruise to Key West and points beyond.

I look forward to following your next two trips please make sure you post links here or on other TRs so we know when you start a new one! I know Kimmar has had some terrible times, but I think her TR is history! I'm so glad that you take it to heart to finish your reports! I've done the same thing on my PTR blogging about what I'm doing on the way and totally love to hear about your exploits and love the food porn! The cruise was awesome. I'm hoping that we can go on some cruises in the future.

Thanks for sharing and I hope you have an awesome trip in May!

Alison,

Glad you had a good trip to DC. I am sure there were a ton of people here during your stay.

There is so much to see and do here that it takes a very long time to see everything.

I have been here 7 years and still have not seen everything, I don't think I will either :(

The cruise was lots of fun, we enjoy going on them:woohoo:

only 25 days to go ....

On March 20th, DH, and DD went with me back to Mount Vernon. When we were there in Feb, we did not get to see much of the grounds and it was so crowded because it was president's day weekend, I wanted to go back and look around the grounds.

In 1793 there were 8000 acres of farm, fields and woodlands, that made up Mount Vernon. For me I am glad that the current area is much smaller and that it is walkable.

There was a lot of live stock there, to represent the many animals that lived there.

This is the wheat barn, George invented this in 1792, if he laid the wheat out on the floor and had the horses walk over it, the wheat would crack and fall through the cracks and could be gathered off the floor below.

I know this is hard to read, but the sign reads "Dung Repository" So I made them pose in front of it, just seemed like the right place for them...

Here is the back porch of Mount Vernon.... Imagine sitting there, rocking away and looking out over the Patomic.

We had lunch at the Mount Vernon Inn again and it was just as good this time as the first...

I started with the Peanut Soup, it was amazing.
Then I had the meatloaf and David had a club sandwich. For dessert we had the bread pudding and it was amazing, so much so that I forgot to take a picture of it!

After lunch we walked around the upper gardens

and then to the quarters around the main house.

April 2, 2011

BASEBALL

My favorite team the Braves were coming up here to play the Nationals.
DSC_0104.jpg

The day was not pretty but not awful to start out. It seemed like there were more Braves fans in the park than Nationals fans, we were decked out in our jerseys and ready for the first game of the season, for us.

Before the game we stopped to have some food, hotdogs sounded like a good place to start.

I went for the Big Kid Dog - Gooey Mac and Cheese topped with fritos on a hotdog. David went for the Heater, hotdog, topped with Buffalo wing sauce and blue cheese slaw.

Then we had Chili Cheese Fries, from Ben's Chili Bowl, a DC staple and landmark. Forgot to take picture :(

next was a rain delay

Then a second delay

Then the start of the game, Larry King threw out the first pitch.

It rained, it hailed and it dropped to 40 degrees, we were freezing, and chilled to the bone, so we left.

We got tickets today. :woohoo:

It only took the MWR office 10 days to get them in. :headache:

But everyone now has park hoppers for 4 days; David and I have APs so we are good on that front. :cool1:

Mt Vernon looks awesome! We didn't go there because we didn't think that it would be very Handicapped Accesible. We're hoping by the time we come back that my Partner's mobility will have improved and we can do it then.

Congrats on the tickets!

Have you received your DME documents yet? My trip is one week away and I got them the second week in April...I would call and check if you haven't received them.

As far as mount Vernon goes I would say half of it is wheelchair accessible and the other half is not. All of the museum parts are but the grounds are not. It is a very majestic place.

I did get my magical express tickets thanks for reminding me. I need all the help I can get.

We (mainly DH..., after much prodding from me) finally made the car reservations... Come to find out we had a free days rental at National so we set to pick up the car right from the Dolphin and it cost us only the tax.... $2.86 total for the rental. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

So now that is taken care of......

MIL got the tickets with her Mother's Day gift and was happy to get them. Now I had to explain how to get them turned into actual tickets. These are gift cards really that you show your military ID with and get the 4 day park hopper in exchange.
