Let's see.... On the 18th of February David took me to the Hippodrome in Baltimore for the Jersey Boys, musical....
This was an afternoon from H**L.... all of my facebook friends had to live through the mess with me......
First, we left work early to make sure we had enough time to make it home, pick up the tickets, get to the light rail station, have time to eat and make the play......
Second, we make it to Union Station in DC to catch the MARC train... Everything is going so well, we get two seats together on the train and are set for the 30 minute ride to our stop....
Less than 100 feet from Union Station the breaks lock up! I meant the train stops dead still...
The conductors walk around, look and things and then get back on the train and announce that everything is fine, they are not sure what happened... Right now timing is fine, we are only 15 minutes late and we built in plenty of time.
We make it about 1/2 mile from the first stop... and the train stops and will NOT start again, those same break problems we had before, but this time there is no starting again..... For 75 minutes we sit there.... on the tracks with all the other trains whizzing past us, like we are not there....
Then the part that really got me was our normal train passes us, so even if I had left work at normal time I would be past where I was then....
Ughhhhh, tempers are flaring and the shouting begins.... I love public transportation.
So a train comes to rescue us... we have to walk across a gravel pit and onto another train, surprisingly everyone was calm and helped each other across, I was really surprised.
Then we are on our way again. Finally at our stop....
We have to drive home to get the tickets, don't have to change...Don't have time to eat either....
We are racing the light rail train to the station, we see it on the tracks, but it has to make a stop before we get on... We are driving over the speed limit to get to the station before the train gets there....
Hubby pulls up and I jump out head to the train, you have to push a button or the doors do not open, unlike the metro, so he is dashing from the parking lot and the doors close as soon as he steps on. Whew we made it on the light rail and the show starts in 25 minutes.
After several stops on the light rail, we make it to our stop and we walk 3 blocks to the theater, racing up to the doors, to have our ticket scanned and no one, I mean no one is in the lobby, we hurry to our seats and people are sitting there.... I have to get an usher to get them out of our seats, and as soon as my butt hits the seat the lights go out.... 5 minutes after start time
The show starts
it is an amazing 3 hours.... These guys pout on a wonderful show. The music and the performance was wonderful! I must say we loved every minute of it....
