Two for One: Double Disney Birthdays! *Meg nonTR upd 9/23* // *Help out Katie! 10/22*

Oh, how I wish you could figure out how to upload Charles' narration! :rotfl:

What a storm!!!

I'm going to once I get his little gadget! I have a Macbook and the software that came with my camera wasn't compatible with Mac, so I have to use iPhoto, which only does pictures. I have a bunch I need to delete so I need to get it from him soon. I still have some from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra show in December.

The storm was crazy! It was even crazier seeing it from the beach area. I rarely see bolts of lightning, but I did this time. It was amazing.

So, while I was in school, you were at the beach? That doesn't seem fair. :rotfl: But...Katie's in Disney. That's even more unfair :lmao:

What time were you there? We got some storms here around 4:00. My brave doggy was hiding in the basement

Wow, I just responded to you on Facebook. Are we internet stalking? :lmao:

It is so unfair that Katie is in Disney...I want to be there with her now. I've been getting pictures/texts and she's sending them to Facebook as well, which is a nice fix, but I wanna be there!

Hmmm...we got to the beach around 1:45, I guess, and it started actually storming like an hour later. The beach that we went to is 45 minutes away (in Gloucester, if you're familiar with that name), and Charles's brother kept on texting him because the storms were in our city before they got to where we were. There was a thunderstorm this morning that woke me up around 3 AM, and the lightning was actually illuminating my room -- it was crazy! I managed to get back to sleep and got woken up 45 minutes later, around 4 AM, because there was a HUGE clap of thunder and it scared me to death. I'm not sure what my dog was doing when I was gone, but since I got a new bedframe and he can't completely hide underneath my bed now, he sometimes just sticks his head under it. I'll have to send you a picture; it's pitiful but hilarious!

Nice pictures, even if you did get stormed out.

I am looking forward to more Disney pictures from Katie today. :cool1:

Apparently we are internet stalking :rotfl:

I had a dream that I was in Disney last night...with my 84 year old grandmother who decided to go on Tower of Terror :scared1:

AH HA! So you were there while I was in school! When there's a storm at night, my dog tries to hide under my mom's bed and just like your dog, only her head fits :rotfl2:

Nice beach pics! I really liked the one of the Boardwalk! :goodvibes It reminded me of our trip...I've never been to the Boardwalk, but I'm planning to go there our first full day at Disney! Can't wait!!! So, Katie said the weather is very hot?? I was assuming it would be, but I've never been to Disney in the summertime.

Speaking of dogs hiding under beds :lmao: we've had really bad storms here for the past few nights, too. My parents were babysitting my son the other night while we were putting some plants in our garden...and it just started pouring, so we ran into the house. I couldn't find my dog anywhere...looked under the bed & there he was!!! We then went to pick up our son at my parents (which is like 5 minutes away) and when we came back, my dog who is TERRIFIED of storms ran as fast as he could OUTSIDE! :confused3 I still don't understand it. Its storming right now & he's shaking & hiding underneath the bed...so I have no idea why he ran into the storm last night! :sad2: Luckily we were able to find him & bring him back inside before he was completely terrified & before the lightning started. It was a bad storm...guess we're supposed to get a worse one tonight. It just started & we're having possible tornado warnings. I guess it came over to PA from Ohio.

Ahh the beach! So pretty! :)

Wow good thing you guys got back to your car when you did! The rain looked crazyyy!

And  to your pants. Huge waves freak me out!

I'm home! And completely exhausted. I also have just found out that my older dog (Licorice) and my grandmother are very very sick. They both apparently had really bad days on Friday, but my mom held off on telling me until I got home because she didn't want to spoil the end of our trip. I'll be heading home tomorrow for an indefinite period of time and I'm not sure if I will be able to update. I'll try to, but Meg can feel free to do updates now. Have a good week everyone.

DisKate Hugs to you about your Gramma and dog. I hope everything is okay.

Megablocks I loved your beach day pics!

If I won a ton of money I would deffinitely buy a house on the beach....in Florida...an hour from Disney!

I am dreaming of the sand between my toes and the cool breeze from the ocean. I like the ocean smell too!

Hope all is well with you, I have missed spending time on the DIS.

Nice pictures, even if you did get stormed out.

I am looking forward to more Disney pictures from Katie today. :cool1:

Thanks! It really was a ton of fun despite the storm -- I love the beach and this one was really, really nice!

I seem to internet stalk you and Katie a lot :rotfl2:

I STILL need to send you the picture of my dog with his head underneath my bed! Before, he used to all the way under and you could just see his frog legs sticking out. Now it's just his head and it's pitiful!

Yeah, Katie said it was really hot, but of course you're probably experiencing it RIGHT now!

I'm so glad you found your dog! That must have been so scary. :sad2: My dog does not even like rain and steps delicately around puddles (I guess he doesn't like to get his feet wet) so I can't seem him running out unless he was really terrified..your poor dog!

Ahh the beach! So pretty! :)

Wow good thing you guys got back to your car when you did! The rain looked crazyyy!

And  to your pants. Huge waves freak me out!

It was sooooo pretty! We're going back on Tuesday because it's supposed to be nice out, no crazy rain ;)

Charles is the same way about huge waves -- he does not like open water, period, and he can't let himself think about what's swimming in the ocean or he'll freak out

DisKate Hugs to you about your Gramma and dog. I hope everything is okay.

Katie's grandma and her dog are doing better, I think...she left on Friday so hopefully things will continue to be okay for them :goodvibes

When I saw that huge house, I pointed and said, "Charles, it's our future home" and he looked and just went "PFFFFFFFT" :rotfl2: I'm not sure I could ever live that close to the water because I'd be terrified during storms.

I've missed seeing you on here! Your trip is coming up soon :yay:

Well, I am going to try to drag out this report just a little bit longer. I still have the 17th and 18th to finish up, and a very short one on the 19th, because that was the last day and I couldn't bring myself to take pictures. I just have some non-trip news that I wanted to share. I mentioned that I was going to try to convince Charles to go out to Ohio and meet up with Katie and Patrick along the way. Charles decided against going to Ohio because he is the champion of hating long drives, and the trip to Ohio is 12 hours of driving. But, just a few days ago, I was saying that I might ask about taking my car out to Ohio when I go with my family in August. He said, "well, you'd be putting a lot of miles on your car that way [my car actually has relatively low miles for being four years old but that is my sensible boyfriend for you], would you rather use it to drive out to Ohio with your family or drive to see Katie and Patrick? Maybe drive up to New Hampshire to camp for a few days, too?"

I almost jumped out of my skin because this is the first time that he has ever mentioned, on his own, going to see Katie and Patrick, and taking a little vacation. So, we both requested off the last week in July, and are going to work out a day to see Katie and Patrick (still not entirely sure of when and where), AND taking a trip camping up in New Hampshire for a few days! I am so excited to be going to New Hampshire and even more excited to finally get to see Katie and Patrick again and have my boyfriend and one of my best friends in the world finally meet

I promise a real trip report update very soon. Thank you for sticking around, guys! Have a great week!

It's good to hear from you. I hope all of that works out for you guys. Sounds like a lot of fun. I was thinking this afternoon that I was going to Facebook you guys and check on the latest with Katie's pup and grandmother.

Meeting up with Katie will be so much fun!!! Camping in New Hampshire sounds lovely, too...if I was a camping kind of girl!

Hope everything is ok with your grandma & dog, Katie

So exciting you're going to meet up with Kate and Patrick! And that's funny about Charles...With boys, you have to let them think they came up with the idea ::yes:: Coz if you tell them what to do they'll never do it! After 6 years with my BF I'm finally learning and adapting to this. We are both stubborn people so it was hard for me to switch over to being a bit more passive in some of our decision making/plans

I STILL need to send you the picture of my dog with his head underneath my bed! Before, he used to all the way under and you could just see his frog legs sticking out. Now it's just his head and it's pitiful!

Last night my dog wedged herself under my mom's bed, and my mom had to move stuff around under there to help her get out :rotfl:

Yay!!! Another DIS meet  We have to have another one soon too!

Thanks MeMom! I have been kind of scarce because now it's work that is crazy but I'm going to finish this bad larry up! Things are beginning to fall into place; Charles and I were looking last night at different places to stay in both New Hampshire and Cape Cod (haven't decided for sure where we're going), and July 24th is officially when we get to see Katie and Patrick! Still don't know exactly where in New York -- either Syracuse or Albany. But we're hoping to figure it out soon and are very excited :goodvibes

Meeting up with Katie will be so much fun!!! Camping in New Hampshire sounds lovely, too...if I was a camping kind of girl!

We are both so excited to meet up again! I am dying for Charles to meet them since they are both friends with him on FB, and I'm sure he kind of feels like he knows Katie already :rotfl2:

I'm really excited for camping -- I never thought I'd be a camping kind of girl, but it was so much fun last year. I probably won't get to sleep in a pop-up camper again, but we'll have air mattresses, which is good enough for me! We asked our friend if she wanted to go, but I'm pretty sure she's not going to -- despite my telling her there were outlets in the bathrooms, she was very concerned with the idea of not being able to straighten her hair. :lmao:

Hope everything is ok with your grandma & dog, Katie

:rotfl: I know exactly what you mean about it being hard to learn to be more passive -- Charles and I are also both really stubborn but I've finally learned when it's best just to back down or let him make some of the decisions and not keep fighting it! He couldn't find any campgrounds that were to his liking in New Hampshire ("these aren't real campgrounds" -- I still don't know what ARE real campgrounds in his mind), and mentioned possibly going to Cape Cod instead. I am still holding out for New Hampshire but I agreed to keep the Cape in mind, which is a big step for me

Last night my dog wedged herself under my mom's bed, and my mom had to move stuff around under there to help her get out :rotfl:

Yay!!! Another DIS meet  We have to have another one soon too!

:lmao: That's so funny! When I had my old metal bedframe, my dog would crawl under it and sometimes not come out, even though he was perfectly capable of getting out...he just didn't want to. So I'd have to take his collar and pull at him to get him to come out. Crazy animals.

We do need to have another DIS meet soon! You know I am just a short train ride away from Boston -- at least, a short ride away assuming there is no green line involved for me :rolleyes1

Oohhh! Syracuse has a Disney Store in the mall! That could sway your decision. :thumbsup2

It's great that you will get to meet up this summer.

Good luck with all the camping plans. :)

Hi everyone! Thanks for the concern. All of our dogs ended up getting sick, but are all better now. My Grandma is better then she was. She is basically back to feeling like normal, which means not 100%. She has arthritis and Alzheimer's, so she doesn't really ever have great days any more, but better at least means that we aren't on 24hr watch at the moment.

We're really excited about getting to meet up with Meg and Charles! I'll try to start posting this week.

Oh, that's right! I remember seeing something about that on here before. We're going to figure it out for sure once Patrick gets the day or days off from work. I can't wait!

The camping plans are moving a little more slowly...I think we've finally settled on New Hampshire, but now it's just a matter of figuring out just where to stay. I'm leaning towards the White Mountains area. :)

44 pages late but I'm joining in. I kept a sticky note of everything I wanted to comment on. Great pictures of Disney on Ice. I have not read Kingdom keepers yet. I'm really interested in reading it though.. Meg, Anytime my boyfriend and I rode Dinosaur i would always get this terrified look on my face. I love how your mom is pretending to be asleep. Katie, Those blankets are so cute. I really like the "that's how i roll" pattern. My boyfriend has a monopoly shirt with that saying on it. Katie, I loved your blast from the past pics. Meg, sounds like you and Charles had a lot of fun at the Harry Potter exhibit. I just finished reading the last book last week. My sister turned 17 this February too, but she's sort of ant-Disney cause she hates the crowds. Very cool for getting picked as Pop family of the Day. LOL @ ur dad and the green army man. Congrats Katie on graduating. Very cool that you guys get to meet up this summer. Have fun. Looking forward to hearing more about your trips.

Wow. I didn't even remember that half that info was contained in our report! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks for joining in! I'm going to be uploading pics later so hopefully I can do an update this evening before we go to TOY STORY 3!!!!!!

Meg, that sounds like a great trip! I've never been camping "for real"...we just have these little tiny campgrounds around the area, so whenever one of our friends has their camper parked at the site, we visit for a few hours in the evening. We usually just take a walk & make smores or something BBQ...but I'm sad to say that I've never actually stayed overnight with any of them. :sad2:

So glad you guys are able to meet up with Katie & Patrick while on your trip! :goodvibes

I'm sorry to hear about your dog & grandma. I can relate to your story a little bit...I was at Lights, Motor, Action at DHS last week and my mom called me. She wouldn't tell me what was going on. She just said to call her later & she would talk to me. She was calling from her cell which made me think something was wrong (she never uses it except for huge emergencies).

I kept saying "just tell me now" and she kept saying "I'll tell you later." She finally told me...a young child in our family was in Children's Hospital & she was there waiting to see what was going on. Luckily everything turned out fine, but boy was I freaking out in the middle of walking down the bleachers @ Lights Motor Action!

I'm glad to hear that your dogs & your grandma are both doing better! :goodvibes

Thank you for joining in! I've seen you on MeMom's and other reports, we are glad to have you here!

I am so surprised I got over my fear of Dinosaur! I managed to pose when we went for the EMH and I was so impressed with myself. :rotfl2: The HP exhibit was a blast -- I'd totally go again and I would recommend it to anyone who loves the books/movies. I wish I could have taken pictures but there were people EVERYWHERE and I was afraid to even take out my phone and start texting, lest they think I was taking a picture.

There is a finally an update coming from me! I'm trying to drag it out because we don't have another trip planned till probably 2012, and I want to be able to update when Katie and I meet up. :goodvibes

I didn't go camping till last year, when I went with Charles and his family. I'm SO excited to be going! We found a nice place and I'm really excited.

So glad you guys are able to meet up with Katie & Patrick while on your trip! :goodvibes

Me too!! It stinks sometimes being so close with someone but being so far away, I'm really excited we get to see them and that Charles finally gets to meet them!

I would have been freaking out about that too. I'm so glad that everything turned out okay

I'm sorry I haven't updated in so long! Work got kind of crazy, and then Charles and I went to the beach last Tuesday and I ended up with a really nasty case of sunburn, mostly on my back, shoulders, and chest. I came home from work each day feeling like I couldn't move my arms because my shirts, especially my work shirt, irritated my skin so badly. My skin is finally, finally back to normal and I am feeling normal as well. ;)

In New York and camping trip news, Katie and I decided on meeting up in either Syracuse or Albany. Syracuse is a little closer to them and Albany is a little closer to us, but if Patrick can get the two days off work, we might meet in Albany and they might stay at a hotel for the night instead of driving back that same night. We're meeting up Saturday, July 24, and I'm pretty sure that Charles and I are going to be up and out pretty early to make the most of the day. I can't wait! Charles and I also booked a place to stay in New Hampshire! It's a campground called Danforth Bay and it looks really nice. I guess it fit his vision of what a "real" campground is (before, when we were looking, he kept saying, "these aren't real campgrounds." I don't know what a "real" campground is but I guess Danforth Bay fit the bill. ;) ) We're going July 26-28 and it's pretty centrally located -- it's a short drive to the White Mountains area and Conway, which has lots of tax-free shopping and an amazing Pirate's Cove mini-golf that we've both been to a lot with our families.

Wednesday, February 17

Today was the day that, had our flight not gotten canceled, we would have been going home. Instead, we ended up going to DTD, then Epcot, then AK for the nighttime EMH and a meet with Christine Tink9721!

We headed to DTD first. Kailyn hadn't been to DTD in a long time, and I was dying for EoS. I wanted to make another Goofy's treat, too, since mine was either gone or close to gone. Of course, it would not be a trip report of mine without my dad doing something he probably shouldn't be doing.

22340_317865419094_505059094_3387699_4674047_n.jpg

EoS was our very first stop because we were all starving.

I know that my dad and I both got the Hawaiian BBQ sandwich, I think Kailyn got a BLT, and I think my mom got the veggie sandwich. I only got a picture of my food.

I haven't tried anything else from EoS because I love this so much. My dad loved it, too! My mom was happy with her sandwich, and Kailyn really liked hers, too.

I don't think we actually went in here, but we had to take a picture with Buzz, of course.

We poked around in Tren-D and the ESPN store, the latter in search of something for my brother. While my parents were in the ESPN store, Kailyn and I walked over to Goofy's Candy Co. so we could get a treat. I think Kailyn got pretty much the same exact thing as I did -- a Mickey rice cripsy head dipped in white chocolate with dark and white chocolate chips, drizzled in chocolate (I opted for the dark chocolate drizzle but she might have gone for milk or white chocolate drizzle.) While we were waiting, we entertained ourselves with the crazy mirrors.

We met back up with our parents, who ended up getting Mike an ESPN hat and a really nice zip-up ESPN hoodie. I really wanted a hoodie just like it, just not an ESPN one. After that, we were ready to head out, so we hopped a bus to the Beach Club so we could either walk or take the boat over to Epcot.

When we got to BC, I fell in love. Love, love, love. Before I could start looking around more, my dad made me take a picture.

I, of course, was probably fighting with Facebook and iPhoto and therefore I don't have any more pictures from BC. But, I seriously loved everything about it. The decor, the little "beaches," everything. I'd never seen it before but I decided I HAD to stay there sometime, even if it's just for a night or two. Being able to walk to Epcot was really, really appealing to me, too. ;)

Next: a little bit of Epcot and THE best night at AK :goodvibes

Have a great week, guys!
