Two for One: Double Disney Birthdays! *Meg nonTR upd 9/23* // *Help out Katie! 10/22*

Hi Meg! Thought I'd make time tonight to catch up on your report too! :goodvibes

I was planning to read Kingdom Keepers, but now that you mention the IASW dolls freaking you out, maybe I shouldn't! LOL I know some people think its boring, but IASW has lots of meaning for me because its the ONLY memory I have of my 1st trip at Disney!!! :)

LOVED your pics of the empty park...how exciting! I know there's no way I could ever stay until 3am so I give you all lots of credit!

The Castle was absolutely gorgeous! I know what you mean, I could stand there & look at it forever! Its beautiful!!!!

I almost forgot...Goofy is my favorite character too!!! At AK last year, we saw Goofy & I told him he was my favorite & my son's favorite. It was really fun because he covered his mouth like he was embarrassed & laughed! We had really good interaction with all the characters last trip.

Can't wait to read about EPCOT...I love it there!!!

Good luck tomorrow with all of your final projects/presentations!!! :thumbsup2

Hi girls! :wave2:

I hope school is almost over for you soon and the exams aren't that tough. :goodvibes

The Spash pics look spooky.....so weird not seeing people there.

Hi! I have my last final on Wednesday...and I'm in the middle of completing my grad school application, I'm already into the program so the app. is just a formality, but knowing that I'm already in is making it hard to work on!

I uploaded all of my trip pics to photobucket yesterday (finally!) and will hopefully do a pic update this evening when I need a break from studying for Corporate Finance.

Have a marvelous Monday everyone!

In the meantime, here are a couple of pics to wake up to!

Good luck with the finals this week! :goodvibes

Yippee! You are ready to start sharing your trip pics!

I've never seen the Boardwalk so I'm excitted to see it!

Sorry its taken so long! The second half of the semester after spring break always seems to get really crazy. We really loved the Boardwalk...it might be my new favorite resort!

I've had a friend call me and she wants to study together tonight for our final in the morning, so I probably won't get to update this evening. It will depend on how long we study for. Have a good evening everyone!

Yay, Katie!!! I loved seeing a few pictures, especially the castle. I never noticed the face on the castle during Wishes! I DO notice the stars during the part where they play some Fantasia music because I used to love watching that when I was little and it's one of my favorite parts of Wishes...I just never ever noticed the face in that part.

The Boardwalk looks SO pretty all lit up at night...I loved the picture you sent me on your first morning, too. :goodvibes I'd love to stay there if I didn't have to look at the clown pool. I am so grateful to Patrick for not sending me a picture of that like you told me he joked about doing :lmao:

Good luck on your last finals girlie -- I can't believe I'm done and you will be done and graduating very soon! And I noticed your ticker says that you are now in the teens...I am so jealous. I'll have to live through your pictures and texts again ;)

I totally didn't mean to go a week and a half without updating. I'm done with classes until September, so I will really get moving more on my part of the TR.

Little piece of non-TR news: I am currently working on Charles to go out to Ohio to visit family when my parents do. The idea is to go when they do, but take my car and go our own way and take our time so we can stop in Pennsylvania to meet with a friend of Charles, and stop in Buffalo to meet with Katie and Patrick! Charles understands Katie's and my friendship and would really like to meet her and Patrick, and I am dying for them to meet as well. Charles wants to do this but is concerned about the money -- he is very cautious about spending money, which is a good thing at times but other times drives me crazy when I really want to do something like this and am sure that we could make it work. So, when I say I'm working on him, I mean I'm figuring things out in my head and am going to present it all to him a little bit at a time. Gotta take it slow. :rotfl2: If we can't do this, I am hoping to meet up with them somewhere over the summer.

Day 4 -- Monday, February 15

We slept in after our very late night at MK. I was the first one up, as always. We had an ADR at Le Chefs de France that I was really, really looking forward to. However, Kailyn woke up not feeling well (I think she just had a sore throat), and didn't really want to go anywhere yet, so my mom and I decided to go to Epcot while my dad and Kailyn stayed at the room and decided to head out later. I also decided that I needed a treat from Goofy's Candy Co., so we decided to head to DTD after Epcot. I was excited to be going to Epcot with my mom, because it is our favorite park and we love poking around there, and we knew we could do so without my dad and Kailyn getting bored.

I love entering Epcot. I don't even mind that you have to walk so far just to get to the turnstiles because I love hearing all the music that's playing as you enter. :cloud9:

22340_317799129094_505059094_3387432_5149324_n.jpg

I think this was when we first started seeing the signs of President's day/week crowds. The line for SSE wrapped all the way around the sides. We bypassed SSE and headed straight for WS and Club Cool.

22340_317799149094_505059094_3387434_5934485_n.jpg

My favorite! I kept on filling up my little cup with this.

22340_317799164094_505059094_3387436_6092102_n.jpg

I think we only really stopped in here. We got kind of a late start and didn't want to be late to check in to Le Chefs, so we stopped in here and then continued on to France.

22340_317799164094_505059094_3387436_6092102_n.jpg

We sat down here to kill a few minutes before checking in.

22340_317799174094_505059094_3387437_8309831_n.jpg

As we were sitting, we saw Marie come out! I had never seen her in person before and she was SO cute! I couldn't manage any pictures, but she was adorable. In the small space of time between one group walking away and the next coming up, she was doing little dances and just moving around. She was so tiny and adorable!

We checked in and were soon called and seated at a table near the windows -- perfect for people watching. I was fascinated by the ceiling.

22340_317799219094_505059094_3387439_2073075_n.jpg

Our waiter was very nice and cute, but he was incredibly hard to understand and I felt so bad! I'm so glad my mom understood him so I could take my cues from her responses. :rolleyes1 He said he spoke English, French (duh), German and something else. I only know what because I told my friend via Facebook, and she is a HUGE language nerd (fluent in French, knows some Spanish, learning Arabic), so I knew she'd find that interesting.

I don't think we got an appetizer, because we wanted to save room for the main course and for dessert. We both got the baked macaroni and cheese.

22340_317799224094_505059094_3387440_7641557_n.jpg

This was SO GOOD! I want some right now!

We were both pretty stuffed after that, so we decided to share the creme brulee.

22340_317799234094_505059094_3387441_7903241_n.jpg

This was also really, really good. However, I had no idea there was actually a thin glaze over the custard. It was a little surprising when I went to put my spoon in and the top of the dessert cracked, but it was delicious! My mom let me eat most of it and I scraped the bowl.

As we were eating, I was watching Remy making his rounds and hoping that we could eat slowly enough to see him. We did!

22340_317799239094_505059094_3387442_3582295_n.jpg

He was adorable and his little squeaks were so cute.

We were absolutely stuffed after an amazing lunch, and headed out to do some shopping. I love the Morocco pavilion. The same "language nerd" friend spent two semesters studying in Morocco and her pictures look JUST like the Morocco pavilion in Epcot. The attention to detail is amazing.

22340_317799244094_505059094_3387443_5577940_n.jpg

22340_317799269094_505059094_3387446_4619602_n.jpg

I really, really wanted one of these. I can't remember why I didn't get it. I think it was the whole "where in my room would I put it?" thing, but now I wish I had gotten it because it would look really nice on my bureau with my figurines and framed pictures. Oh well.

22340_317799259094_505059094_3387445_3417933_n.jpg

More World Showcase. We love the huge Japan store.

22340_317799274094_505059094_3387447_5669436_n.jpg

We stopped to listen to them for a few minutes.

22340_317799294094_505059094_3387448_954710_n.jpg

Up until maybe last year, we never realized that there was a huge store in the China pavilion! We stopped in there and I think this was where I got a keychain for Patrick but didn't take a picture for obvious reasons. ;)

22340_317799309094_505059094_3387450_282791_n.jpg

These were absolutely adorable -- little towels and stuff wrapped up and made to look like things like animals and desserts. I had to take a picture because I knew I wouldn't buy any of them, but I loved them!

22340_317799324094_505059094_3387451_2929056_n.jpg

I also love coming around and seeing SSE.

22340_317799334094_505059094_3387452_5570147_n.jpg

My mom and I headed out and to DTD. By that time, my dad and Kailyn had been to DHS, I think, because Kailyn told me when we met back up that they saw the stunt show and the guy who drives the red car, the "hero" car, was from Boston!

I don't have any DTD pictures, but I did, of course, take a picture of my Goofy's Candy Co. creation. Mickey rice crispy treat dipped in white chocolate, covered with white and dark chocolate chips and drizzled with dark chocolate. It took me a couple of days to finish this, and by that time, Kailyn was ready to go there so I, of course, had to make another. :rolleyes1

Next -- quality family time at DHS!!

Hurray for being done with school for the summer, Meghan!

I love the music that plays on the walk to the Epcot entrance, too! In fact, it is on the Four Parks, One World CD, and I listen to it a lot!

Lunch looks amazing and strolling around WS is the perfect way to spend the afternoon!

That treat from Goofy's must have been absolutely delicious!!!

The mac & cheese and the creme brulee look good. We have not eaten there yet, but I want to do it while they still have Remy for the girls. Wonder how hard it would be to get an early lunch there this summer just as a walk-in?

I love strolling through World Showcase taking a million and one pictures of everything - windows, doors, merchandise, light fixtures...just everything! We didn't even make one round of WS last weekend. We were going to do it Saturday, but we had to get some other stuff in, so we decided we'd come bacl Sunday, and then it was so hot we let the girls swim Sunday, so we never did get back. We consoled ourselves with the fact that we'll be back for Flower & Garden next spring break, and we'll have more time then.

Morocco has such unique stuff. Do you remember the cost of the cloth mats? What would you call those? They are pretty.

I'm so glad school is out for a while and you can have some fun time!

I love the Epcot music, too! I especially love hearing it the first day we get to Epcot (we usually spend 2 days there); I get so excited!

Les Chefs' mac and cheese is delicious, ITA. :thumbsup2 When we were there bf and I got the profiteroles for dessert and they weren't so good; I was expecting better. The Creme brulee looks so tasty, will keep that in mind next time we eat there :)

I hope you can "lovingly" convince DBF to take that trip this summer....:goodvibes

I was trying to fit in a lunch at Les Chefs of France into my plans for this summer.
I even made an ADR but I cancelled it because it really didn't work.

I saw pics of the Ham & Cheese sandwich on another TR and I was drooling....

There will be other trips. I have to remind myself of that, cause I want to do it all.....now! :rotfl:

MeMom Is Remy still there? I thought he was gone to Paris?
Oh, I may have to re think adding back that ADR for lunch...;)

I did some digging myself which then ended with a phone call to Disney Dining.
The very nice CM did some searching and.....

Remy will be there this summer! :woohoo:
He appears at 12:30, 1:40, 2:50, 5:20. (No Sundays).

I made an ADR for lunch! :dance3: Can't wait to see him!

Memom Hope this info helps, so you can snag a lunch date with him and the girls! :goodvibes

Great update! :) How nice that you got to spend some time with your mom in Epcot. There is soooooo much shopping to do in WS, it's all sort of overwhelming to me. Remy is adorable!

Loved your update!!!! :goodvibes

Now I'm hungry...that mac & cheese looked sooo good! I've never had creme brulee, but have always wanted to try it & after seeing your pictures, I definitely think I need to try it at Disney!

I cannot wait to go to Goofy's Candy Store at DTD!!! After seeing all the pics on DIS of the Mickey head, I'm definitely going to get one of those! Do you remember how much they cost? For some reason, I think I need more than one! :rolleyes1 I keep telling my husband how much my son wants to go there...but I'll admit, its really ME that wants to go there! :rotfl:

I thought it was so nice that you got to spend time at EPCOT with your mom! Its my favorite park & I absolutely :lovestruc World Showcase! I think we spend hours there! I know what you mean about the music...I love all of the music at Disney! I'm planning to buy some of the CD's this trip. I'm just afraid I'll listen to them in the car once I get back home & will cry because I miss WDW so much! lol

Glad you have some time off from school & will have more time to update! I love reading your trip report! Have a good week!

OK, I'm going to try and wrap this up over the next week, so that when I come back from our trip that starts next Saturday I can go right into posting about that. The March trip will be mostly pics, because I didn't take notes. Sorry its taken this long everyone!

Saturday March 13-KRIS' 20th Birthday
So we left on my sister's birthday, and the plan was that we would arrive at MCO around 7:30, hopefully get to BWV at 8:30, and would go out to dinner for her birthday. Naturally this didn't happen. Our connecting flight from Baltimore got delayed and we didn't arrive at BWV until about 12:30am. And for just a bit of background, Kris was mad at me that I scheduled our trip to leave on her birthday, because she didn't want to go to Disney for birthday (:scared1:), she wanted to spend it in our hometown with her friends. She wasn't happy that she was overruled and told she was coming with us, so not being able to go out to dinner on her birthday made her even more pleasant. But on the upside, when we got to our room we found that we had gotten a BOARDWALK VIEW!!!!! Which greatly made up for the fact that we got in so late in my mind.
And now on with the pictures:

Kris with her birthday brownie we bought at the airport:

Since we got to bed really late that night we decided not to get up early, but rather to sleep in and just go to our reservation at Tony's which was for 2pm, but while everyone else could sleep in, I was at DISNEY! So sleeping in past 9am was not happening. Surprisingly it was this morning that led to me falling in love with the Boardwalk Resort. I woke up around 9 and just sat on our balcony reading while some lovely music was piped out around the Boardwalk. It was so quiet and peaceful that you couldn't help but fall in love with it.

So after our lunch at Tony's (which I can't seem to find pics from :confused3 ) we headed to EPCOT

As the week went on we found that the Spring Break crowds had really descended upon Disney...And Patrick and I also learned that he and I were the only ones willing to get up mornings and head to parks to beat the crowds :sad2:

I love that CD. I listen to that track a lot, too! As a matter of fact, I sometimes play it when I'm entering the parking lot of the store I work at. :lmao:

It's definitely a perfect afternoon for my mom and I, not so much for my dad and Kailyn. My dad likes to ride things and do stuff, and Kailyn is kind of the same way -- she gets bored easily if we aren't really "doing" anything.

The treat was amazing! It lasted me a couple of days, too; just long enough to finish and then make another. ;)

The mac & cheese and the creme brulee look good. We have not eaten there yet, but I want to do it while they still have Remy for the girls. Wonder how hard it would be to get an early lunch there this summer just as a walk-in?

Lana posted some info about when Remy is there! I bet the girls would love to see him!

That's too bad you guys didn't get to WS on your Mother's day trip, but at least you know you'll be back for the F&GF next year. Katie has some pictures on FB from it and it's so funny to see, because when I was there, I was watching them set the stuff up and got to see a couple of the topiaries.

I can't remember exactly how much they were, but I want to say they were pretty reasonably priced, especially for Disney, which is making me wonder even more why I didn't get one. :confused3 Oh well, I'll have to get one whenever I go next.

I love the Epcot music, too! I especially love hearing it the first day we get to Epcot (we usually spend 2 days there); I get so excited!

I get SO excited hearing the music, I think I could just stand there and listen to it :rotfl: Definitely try the creme brulee; it was REALLY good -- we ended up splitting it but my mom was so full that she let me have most of it, which was fine with me. ;)

Great update! :) How nice that you got to spend some time with your mom in Epcot. There is soooooo much shopping to do in WS, it's all sort of overwhelming to me. Remy is adorable!

There is a ton of shopping there and so much to take in -- like I said, we didn't even realize that China had that huge store until a couple of trips ago! We just thought it had the little stands. Epcot is probably my favorite park because the WS feels relaxing to me -- there's so much to see and take in that I love just walking around there.

Loved your update!!!! :goodvibes

Yes, definitely try it at Disney! It was amazing.

The Goofy's treat...I can't remember exactly how much the rice crispy treat cost, but I want to say around $4-$5? I know it was pretty reasonable considering it's huge and it's Disney, and that that price includes one dip, one topping, and one drizzle. Additional toppings are $1 each (I got this from a picture I took of Kailyn holding the bag with her treat) That thing took me a couple of days to eat -- it took my mom longer. Even though it took a while to finish it, it never got stale and gross. :thumbsup2

I love the Disney CD's! My mom got 4 Parks, 1 World which I immediately copied on to my laptop and my iPod, and Katie sent me copies of SpectroMagic and Fantasmic!, which are also on my iPod. Sometimes I get a little sad listening to it but it's also a nice fix!

So glad you are enjoying the report -- thank you so much! I'm hoping to do an update (or two, since the next one's going to be pretty short) tonight and tomorrow. Katie inspired me :rotfl2:

How long ago and where did you get the 4 Parks, 1 World CD from? I tried looking on Amazon and it's out of stock, boooo.

I've put WDW CD's on my souvie list!

I have no idea why I never bought any....:upsidedow

I have lots of Disney music, but none of the Park ones. :)

DisKate , Boardwalk looks great!

I would like to rent a surry bike and take a spin around the water.

Not everyone can apreciate being in Disney for your birthday, like we can.

I could never sleep in to noon while at WDW, I've already done so much when some are just arriving....LOL

Katie, when I was looking at your pictures on here (and sneaking peeks on Facebook, too, of course), I literally said "ohhh..." out loud because it looks so amazing! I love the fact that you could see SSE :lovestruc Could you see Illuminations from there at all? Or the stuff on SSE during/after?

I also love that you posted pictures of the views during night and day...like I was telling you before, your pictures are making me want to stay there so badly! I think I might have to do Beach Club first, though. ;)

My mom actually found it in the Emporium...did you check the Disney store website?

You definitely need Disney CD's! I was so excited when Katie said that she would make me copies of Fantasmic! and SpectroMagic. I have an entire Disney playlist on my iPod. :)
