Two Disney Dorks Celebrate 5 Years of Wedded Bliss!-UPDATED 9/3! The Final Wrap-Up :(

Welcome back!!! Can't wait to hear all about your trip!!!! Here's hopin' ya didn't drown in luv bugs !

Ohhhh, to go to a dinner at AP! How was the buffalo steak? Interesting?

You had to post a dessert picture? A deadly one at that? Looks delicious!

Looking forward to more! Tell us about the comedy club thing. And did you see the American Idol scat lady at the Jungle Cruise? I'm so curious about that now! THAT's what I want to do if I ever get the chance!

So glad to have you back - looking forward to installment number 1!

Thanks! :) As you can see, installment #1 is here, and installment #2...I'm hoping to start it tonight. ;)

Welcome back Lynda!!!:dance3: DH and I were so bummed about not being able to go to AC on Saturday night! We had a pretty rocky week and by Sat. all we wanted to do was have a quiet dinner and relax. I will not go into detail because it is Friday and it is going to be a good day. No need to bring down the mood. But if I ever get a wild hair and decided to invite anyone else to go on vacation with us just smack me!! :headache:

So sorry to hear you had a rocky week! We did too, in a way, but I'll get to that later. (And to anyone that that comment worries...don't worry! It wasn't that bad.) Oh, and we have been there, done that with inviting someone on our trip who helped make it a little bit less magical.:headache: I hope yours wasn't too bad! It's still Disney after all. I'm bummed we didn't meet up too. Maybe someday...

welcome back lynda ! waiting patiently for tr love ya:love:

Thanks for reading Misty! :) And thanks for the welcome home. I'll try to supply you with more reading material soon!

Lynda! The pictures are spectacular as I expected they would be! I looked at all 40,000! ;) I see a new siggie pic in there and you ARE really blond! I like!

:rotfl: You looked at them all already? You are ahead of the game, aren't ya? Glad you enjoyed them! :) Did you see one pic in particular for the siggie, or just some potential material? I am debating between a few, and I still have to get my CD from Photopass. I want to replace the siggie pic like yesterday! Told ya I was BLONDE. Thanks! :) I am a lot more used to it now than I was before I left. And I am enjoying it! :) It felt "right" for the Gwen Stefani concert this weekend. (Which was GREAT btw!)

Hi Lynda! Great 1st installment. That first day in Disney is always so great - I wish they could bottle that feeling.

So all of this was on Friday night, right? Let's see, we were at Epcot that night? Did you get stuck in any of the rain that night? We did - but I'll save it for my TR ;)

No kidding! That feeling bottled would probably fetch a pretty penny.

Yes, this was Friday, our actual anniversary! :) What a great anniversary indeed! We didn't even know it rained that night. Must have been while we were eating and we missed it, or after we got back to the room.

Great to see your first installment!! Can't wait to read more!! :goodvibes

Thanks for reading! :) More on the way soon-ish!

I loved your first installment! Josh looks to be zoning out while drinking his sissy drink. :cutie: I  the buffalo steak! I'm going to Artist Point in October, and you can be sure I'm getting that, too.

He does look zoned out, doesn't he? Well, maybe because we both loved that drink so much! It was seriously one of the best frozen beverages ever to grace my taste buds! :) I debated about whether to get the buffalo or the salmon, which was in season. I guess buffalo seemed more like something I couldn't get as easily at home.

Welcome back!!! Can't wait to hear all about your trip!!!! Here's hopin' ya didn't drown in luv bugs !

Not drown, no. Actually, DH were discussing the luv bugs, and they really are no worse than these weird mosquito thing we get at the end of the summer here, when it's really hot and humid, and they just hang in the air and don't move, and they are so thick! They don't even move when you shoe them. At least the luv bugs we encountered took off when we waved a hand in their general direction.

Buffalo steak was GOOD! I have had buffalo before in the form of both a stew and a burger, and I loved them. The steak was good too! :)

I know! That dessert WAS deadly too! Oh my! :faint: Watch out! I photographed lots of desserts on this trip. We were on dining plan, ya know. ;)

Adventurer's Club coming up next time! ;) We did not see American Idol scat lady on JC. If you remember from my last TR though...I mentioned a rather unhappy-looking CM outside JC while DH and I were trying to park my wheelchair. She had looked familiar to me, and I couldn't figure out why...I think it was her! I think you WILL find my coverage of Keys to the Kingdom particularly interesting though. You ride JC on the tour, but it's different. That's all I'm saying for now! ;)

Great installments Lynda, it's so funny seeing Josh without his cap on I think it's the first time! Your meal looks great :thumbsup2

You might be right about Josh's hat! I didn't even notice! I am so used to seeing him without it on. He wears a hat all the time when we go out during the day (partly for sun protection), but not all the time at night. He didn't even notice it either until he read your post! It was a great meal! :) There's more food pics coming in the next installment! I'm hoping to post it tonight.

Hi Lynda!!!

I have just now read ALL of your pre-TR & the beginning of your TR! I can't wait for more!

I thought the same thing about Josh without his hat. :) I thought that was a permanent attachment to his head! :rotfl2:

I see you stayed at SSR last Dec. My DH and I will be staying at SSR for our first time in sept. Did you like it there??

Love your trip report! These trip reports help me pass the time till I get to go to Disney!! So thank you so much for yours!! :goodvibes

Yum!! I love AP. I love their duck! I could eat that every night.

Oh my heck, what does "scat lady" look like? I think she was out guide on the cruise, I knew this girl looked familar but I couldn't figure out why. Our magic express driver on the way home said he had auditioned for A.I. a few seasons before too, maybe that's where they all go after they're rejected?:confused3 I love the picture of your dh with his drink!

i was curious about "scat girl" and i found this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-OBd4jemCI

i don't know for sure, but our skipper on the JC from our trip a few weeks back did favor this girl except she had blonde hair. i can't remember her name to save my life! i know we were on the nile nellie, but i don't know whether they have a regular boat they skipper. anyway, our skipper was very annoying and just reminded me of this chic and she was shaped like her, too. i don't remember much about her face, but she wore glasses. anyway, just wanted to share with everyone who "scat girl" is!

Thanks for the refresher!! I couldn't remember who she was but now I do!! :scared1:

On Saturday morning we got up at 6:45. Why, might you ask, would we do such a thing on vacation? Well, we had ADRs at Akershus for breakfast with princesses! I was only slightly concerned that we might be the only couple there without children. :rotfl: We left the hotel at 8:10 and took the bus to Epcot. Of course, DH had to tell me to be careful getting off the bus several times. He thinks he’s so funny! :headache: (If you haven’t read my other TR, I sprained my ankle pretty badly getting off the bus at Epcot on our last trip.)

We got to bypass the lines because the park wasn’t open yet, and we had to get to Akershus on time. I  that! Plus, you get to walk through the park when it’s practically empty! It’s the best! :cloud9: So, we made it to Akershus, checked in, and waited outside until our name was called. And once they called our name, we got to meet Belle! She was so pretty in her gold dress! princess: And when she saw my anniversary button, she asked how many years. I told her 5, and she replied, “Oh! I wish Beast and I would do something special for our anniversary!” She was too cute! :goodvibes

Then we were seated and told that the cold items were at the buffet, and the hot items would be brought out to our table (family style). We helped ourselves to the buffet. The mini danishes were especially yummy! And the potato cheese casserole thing that was brought to the table was GOOD too! And DH and I both enjoyed the sausages as well. We then met Jasmine, who I think was having a bad morning, Snow White, who was just lovely, Mulan, who was REALLY happy that morning, and Aurora who was also lovely and said she loved the colors of my outfit and how well they matched her own. And she didn’t look the least bit sleepy!

After breakfast, we were ready to tackle the park. I photographed the topiaries on the way back to Future World.

We acquired fast passes for Soarin’. Yes, I said WE got fast passes! DH was contemplating riding it! (He does NOT do thrill rides or anything involving heights.) I told him he had to do what he felt was right. I didn’t want him to do it before he was really ready, and I didn’t want him being disappointed in himself if he decided not to ride either. While we waited for our fast passes to become active, we rode Nemo. Outside the Seas with Nemo & friends, we overheard a mom yelling into a stroller. Now, I know I have no children, and I can’t imagine being alone in WDW with a couple of small kids, but this woman was yelling loudly and in a rather angry tone of voice “I don‘t like little children who make me buy things for them and then don‘t want them! Now, I bought you that brownie, and now you won‘t eat it!…“ I thought she was going to say “You’re gonna eat that brownie, and you’re gonna like it!“ I know a kid can be difficult anywhere, but this woman was something else. I’m not sure how to describe it. She’s that woman who barks at the children constantly and seems to have forgotten where she is if that makes any sense. :sad2: Remember this woman! This is not the last you will hear of her!

After Nemo, we shopped at Mousegear...gotta have the shot of DH wearing a hat in one of the shops.

157615106-M.jpg

Then we took a Journey Into Imagination. After visiting Figment, we had a seat outside to figure out what we were doing next, and I saw our reflection in the building and snapped this shot.

157615501-M.jpg

We decided to head over to the rose garden before heading back to The Land so I could take some photos.

DH opted out of Soarin’, so I headed down the fast pass line, and I actually had to wait a good 15-20 minutes (possibly more). I think this was the longest I’ve ever waited to ride this ride, but that’s OK! I  it! After my flight, I met up with DH and asked if he wanted to do Test Track, which he didn’t. I decided I didn’t need to do it right then either, and if I didn’t get to do it at all, that would be OK too. I would do it next time. (I LOVE being able to say that and know that next time won’t be that far off! :goodvibes ) We went to get a snack at a cart where we had seen fruit cups earlier that looked really refreshing. I got the mixed fruit (melons, grapes, pineapple), and DH got the watermelon, and we both got waters, all using snack credits. And when the CM gave us back our Key to the World, he also gave us a Mickey ice cream bar for FREE for our anniversary! :wizard: What a sweet Magical Moment! We sat nearby to eat our snacks, which were great, and then we headed over to World Showcase.

I took a few photos as we shopped our way over to France, and look who I got to meet at the Teddy Bear & Doll Weekend public day - Disney Bear and Baloo!

157626361-L.jpg

At France, I talked DH into getting pastries. (It was really tough. ) I had the Napoleon, and DH had the chocolate eclair. They were YUMMY! Especially mine! We made our way around the World to Japan, where we had lunch at Yakitori House. I got to use the Clorox wipes I had packed in our “kit”. The table was sticky (There aren’t many tables there.), so I wiped it off while DH waited for the food. It was pretty good, but nothing to get too excited about. I had the sushi, and DH had the Teriyaki chicken.

157627649-L-1.jpg

As we were leaving, we caught some of the show. Then I took a few more photos as we shopped our way around World Showcase some more.

157628526-M.jpg

157628727-M.jpg

157629996-L-1.jpg

Look who we saw in Germany! I would have loved to get my picture taken with them, but that was a LONG line!

157634175-M.jpg

We finally made it to Norway, home of the best pastries on property - berry tarts and school bread! :cloud9: We each got tarts and split the school bread. The girl in front of us in line pointed out the “Hidden Mickey” on our tray…

157637761-M.jpg

DH now thinks he might like the school bread even more than our traditional favorite, the berry tart! It IS very good!

After our pastries, we headed on over to Mexico where we rode the Gran Fiesta Tour with the Three Caballeros.

157638217-M.jpg

It was cute. This was an improvement over the outdated videos that used to inhabit the ride. (Although we did find those old videos amusing. :rotfl: ) On our way out of the park, I had to photograph the pirate ship topiary. LOVE it!

157641024-L-1.jpg

157639753-M.jpg

Then we headed back to the hotel to rest and freshen up before DTD. We laid down when we got to the room, and I set the alarm on my cell phone…just in case. Good thing I did! We fell asleep. :faint: After our 20-30 minute-power nap, I “de-groggied” (Don’t know if anyone else uses that term, but DH and I use it all the time! ) and got ready for PI. We had decided to drive over, so we wouldn’t have to walk a mile to the buses. It always seems we go the wrong way and have to walk FOREVER to get to the bus when we leave PI! And no, we are not usually intoxicated! DH doesn’t drink much anyway, so we hopped in the van and headed over.

We did a bit of shopping at Marketplace when we got there.

157641756-L.jpg

Then we headed towards Cookes of Dublin to see about getting a snack before hitting Adventurer’s Club. The line was WAY out the door, so we headed over to see what time Adventurer’s Club was opening. It was actually opening at 9:00, and it was 8:45. We still wanted a snack, so we headed over to grab something at Wetzel’s Pretzels. Their line was crazy too, but not quite as bad, so we got in line and both got pepperoni pizza pretzels. We ate them on the way back to AC where there were 3 girls and one guy taking some photos of each other outside. We were standing nearby finishing our pretzels, so we couldn’t help but notice that one of the girls was wearing a MOST reavealing shirt :scared: (like there HAD to be tape involved to keep it in place). She leaned over, and we both gasped internally and looked at each other with relief when nothing embarrassing happened. (But it was a REALLY close call!) Then one of the girls asked DH to take their picture together. (I was still eating, thank goodness! ) He did, and I finished up, and we headed inside AC. The actors here switch roles sometimes, so I was pleased to see that my favorite Club President, Pamelia Perkins was there.

157644550-L.jpg

We each got a Kungaloosh and enjoyed a few of the shows in the library, as well as some antics in the main room and a bit in the Mask Room. We didn’t see any of the DIS folks we thought might be there that night, and it had become pretty crowded and was about 11:00. We decided to leave and get some rest. We had MK the next day, and we would be back at AC on Thursday, when it would probably be less crowded anyway.

We headed back to the room, where this was waiting for us! :goodvibes

We ordered Papa John's, and watched Saturday Night Live. It was a nice way to end the night. :thumbsup2

Next time: Sleepin' In & Eatin' Good!

sounds like lots of fun! I'm looking forward to the next day! As much as I enjoy TRs even when I don't know the people yours is even more fun because I know you now! :goodvibes (even tho we haven't actually met...) :confused3 wish I could have scheduled a meet but if I had I have a feeling I would have "stood you up!" Our plan changed about every fifteen minutes! :rotfl: Can hardly wait for the next installment.

We went to Yakitori House once and it was so crowded! All of the Japanese tourists went there. I thought it was kind of funny. :)

Did you end up being one of the only w/out children at your breakfast? I want to go to a character meal with my boyfriend, but I am worried that we'll get weird looks for not having any kids...

Oh my, just hearing about the Screaming Mutha gave me chills of dread.
I would have marched over to her, handed her $2 and told her, "Brownies
don't get stale THAT quickly."

And I was so happy to see that you went to the Adventurers Club.
The part that made me laugh was that you thought Thespian Thursday
(aka one of the nights CMs get in free) wouldn't be crowded. ;) Hey, if
it wasn't that crowded, score one for you. :thumbsup2

Fun report so far!

what is it with the nemo ride and psycho mothers???? something similar happened to me while we were on nemo. in case you haven't rfead my TR (shameless plug!), the mom int he clamshell next to us was whipping her daughter for the entire ride. not a pleasant experience!!!

and i'm so jealous that you saw the dwarfs! how cool! they're in my top 10. i have the cutest dwarfs shirt that's made to look like a doors tour shirt! :goodvibes

What great photos Lynda and such a pretty Snow White! I love the card and balloons for your anniversary so cute :goodvibes
