Two Dinner ADRs in the same night?

Can you make two dinner ADRs in the same night so you can make the decision between the two places that evening? Will the online ADR system allow this?It doesn't seem like a fair thing to do (b/c you're taking away a potential reservation for other diners) but I was wondering if people had done it, and what everyone's opinion is. Thanks!

Apparently the on line system gives you a warning that you have two reservations for the same meal, but doesn't stop you from making them. HOWEVER, CM's around here have reported that they do in fact cancel people's entire list of ADR's when they discover double booking.

As for opinions on double booking, I think it's rude and I don't think I'm alone. the person is basically booking 2 tables, 1 of which they have no intention of using.

It is unfortunate but so many do it. When we booked our last min. trip in May that is how we got our ADR at Le Cellier. At least the DISer had the common courtesy to post online that the ADR was available.

Reading on the boards this seems to be more common that I can imagine. This sooo not fair for ANYONE!!

I imagine once Disney gets wind of this I am sure they will come up with some kind of a system to avoid this. It seems they could loose alot from this when resturants are half full from cancelling. I understand they could take walk -ins to make up for it but it just seems it would get out of hand.

Do you think Disney allows it, because it does empty up space for walk ups? just curious.

I imagine one way to curb it, would be to take your reservation # if you have the DDP & if you don't show up, then you lose that table service credit.
But I highly doubt that would ever happen.

I did call today to see if I could adjust a time on one of my ADR's and I asked the CM if you can dbl book and was told online yes, and I asked if they do cancel ALL ADR's if someone should DBL book and she told me NO, nobody looks at this and the system is not set up to cancel dbl bookings. Not sure where this came from, I don’t agree with someone doing this as its just not right as it keeps someone from getting a ADR because of someone’s greediness and unthoughtfulness, but I wish the ADR system would flag this as not allowed…..

I called and spoke with a CM about this several months ago. I told her I needed to make 2 dinner ressie's/2 separate party's/same evening. She said I could place both ADR's under my phone# but MUST be under separate names to not be flagged. She stated that they do in fact go through ADR's and accounts found with dbl bookings are flagged. The accounts are then directed to mangagement who makes the decision to either contact the guest, delete the earlier ADR of the 2, or delete them all. It is at the discretion of management.

There was a thread here in the past where some had all their ADR's removed because of dbl booking. I doubt this is the norm but I would never want to take the chance.

Even better would be to require a credit card number for every reservation, not just CRT, etc. That would seriously deter all the double bookers. I'd be all for it. :)

You know, I live my life with consideration for others.
It really upsets me that some could be so inconsiderate.
Yes, the double booking upsets me. It is rude and selfish.
It is also very unfortunate that there is no real way to prevent this.
I would never do this based on principle.

There's my two sense. :snooty:

One more example of one CM telling you one thing then getting a different one to tell you something different........:confused3

Tell me about it. I find CM's contradicting themselves alot. Anyways call me suspicious, but I usually stick to believing the safer side. We had 2 separate party's wanting to eat at different restaurants so I needed to know how to go about the situation the right way without jeopardizing my account.

However, there are at least two dining CMs who post on this board that have said they themselves have canceled peoples' ADRs if they notice they have double booked. One in fact, has said that his supervisor has told them to do so.

i had a CM and her super sit on the phone w/ me for just shy of 3 hours trying to straighten out a mess w/ my ADR's.

They said you will, in fact, be in danger of cancellation with dbl bkings.

That is part of the reason they stayed on top of getting mine fixed.

Between a CM who did soething wrong and a major glitch w/ the system, I had 4 of every ADR!!

But even with 2, they said I would very likely lose them if discovered.
