Is this going to be a problem?
Does it matter if I have an overlapping reservation for one night?
One reservation is booked through Disney, the other one through a travel agent if that makes a difference.
Will there be a problem at check in, at the second resort?

Any insight/info would be greatly appreciated. :)

Yeah - it could be. My question is why do you have two rooms for only one night?

Why do you have 2 reservations for the same night? Do you plan to use 2 rooms?
I have done this, when I booked 2 rooms, 1 for DD and DGD and 1 for DH and I. DH was leaving early and then I was moving in to the room I had booked for DD so I was on both for the entire stay in both rooms. It wasn't a problem but it seems a bit different than your situation.

I have a bounceback package booked for two weeks at Pop. I wanted to take a day off that package. I may not be able to do that, and I don't want to lose my package, so I'm just considering my options.

I want to add four days at the Poly after Pop. We were planning on checking in on Aug. 25th, but now that the Halloween party is starting that night, I would rather check in on the 24th. I don't want to check in on the 25th and go to the party without getting my room first. I would like to get settled before I go to the party and there is no guarantee of that if I check in on the 25th, so I was thinking about having an overlapping night on the 24th.

Ah, that actually makes sense.
I'd call Disney and explain. It's likely not going to be a problem.

HI I do not mean to hijack your thread. I'm concerned now for my reservations. We are booked at cbr but I've heard some concerning news about the construction so I just booked POR. My dh is away on business so I can't speak with him until next weds. Will they cancel both? Of course, I will cancel one next week.

I think you're okay. I've had the same dates and people on a reservation for two different resorts for 3 or 4 days before I cancelled one of the reservations.

No, they will not cancel both. You can book 2 rooms if you want, they'll take your money gladly, not cancel one

As I said, I booked and stayed in 2 rooms. They had no problems with it. i was lead guest on both, both booked in my MDE account. No one else has one in the family

Thank you! The mouse does love money :-) I hope that I am fretting for nothing about CBR.

I don't think you will have a problem, but just to be safe, perhaps put a different adult as the lead guest on the Poly reservation. For instance, if you are the lead on Pop, put DH/DW or another adult traveling with you as the lead on Poly.

I have a similar situation with overlapping DVC reservations. The responses that I got on the DVC board was similar to those here. The biggest issue will be with your MBs. You will need to physically check out of your first resort before you can check into the second one even though you have a night remaining on your first reservation. Your MBs cannot unlock two doors at the same time. If you have *free* dining on your POP reservation, I don't think any leftover credits will still be good on the day after you check out.

If you haven't linked the Poly reservation to MDE yet, you may want to consider setting up a second MDE account for the Poly reservation. Then you won't encounter the problem Marionette is mentioning.

Good point about the MB's. I never thought of that. And yes, I do have fd at Pop and was hoping to use the credits the following day. It makes sense that I would have to physically check out first. I've done split stays in the past where the second resort could not check me in because the first resort hadn't checked me out yet, even though I had gone to the desk at the first resort to do so.

Thanks! This has been very helpful!

The dining plan credits should be available all day on check out day. They are for everyone. People do split stays with DP frequently, their credits are still good till midnight on check out day, even when they have a 2nd stay. They won't carry over further than that though.

The MB will only open 1 door at a time. When I had 2 rooms I had mine open my door with DH till he left and then I had them set mine to open the other room

This happened to us to. Apparently you just need to indicate you will be checking into another resort since it requires them to manually check you out.

Understood. However unless the OP creates a new MDE account to link her 2nd reservation to, she will need to physically check out from POP a day early in order to start her stay at Poly. That's not the same as checking out on the last day of your first reservation and checking in at your second resort, which is how a typical split stay works. Once she checks out, she will only have until midnight to use her credits even though the original stay extended thru the following morning. The folio for POP will close after midnight of her check out day.

If she has 2 MDE accounts with each reservation on its own MDE, then she won't have to check out of POP in order to check in at Poly. She can keep her dining credits until midnight of her original checkout day. But, that would mean keeping track of which MB holds the tickets & remaining dining credits and which one opens her Poly room/accesses the volcano pool/can be used for room charges. It can be a lot to keep track of and may not be worth the hassle.

So if I'm the lead on my first reservation and then my husband creates a brand new MDE account for the second reservation and becomes lead it will work? So we will get new MB's at the second resort and they will work at the Poly and the first set of MB's from Pop will have the dining credits on them.

Now what about tickets? Can We have our AP's or other tickets attached to two MDE accounts?

Sorry, just editing now.....tickets will only be attached to the first MDE. Correct?

Tickets can only be attached to one MDE. If you already have them linked to an account, they cannot be moved to another. Whichever account you link them to, that's the account you will be able to make FP+ reservations from. So, it would probably make sense to link them to the POP account so that you can make FP+ at 60 days from your arrival date.

Thanks so much. You've been very helpful. I would just get grey MB's for all four of us so I know they're just for our Poly door.

But will it matter that our names, address etc.... will be attached to two separate accounts? And we're at DW at the same time? Sorry. I keep thinking of new questions. Maybe I'm just paranoid.
