Two different questions re: WDW map and new road...

Question #1: How can I get one of those WDW Transportation maps? You know, the ones with the big resort roadway map on one side and the grid on the other?

Question #2: Is there a new map or website that has information/map of the new roadway into Disney? I really don't know anything about it.

You can get those maps at Disney but I don't know of any on line or rapid home delivery of one.

The new road is route 429 brances off from Florida's Turnpike north of WDW and west of downtown Orlando. It goes due south with an interchange to enter Disney ending up near Blizzard Beach. It is not useful to Disney quests who are coming from the west (192) or southwest (Tampa) or south or southeast (Kissimmee, Miami) or east (airport, Cape Canaveral) or northeast (Daytona, I95).

Those transportation maps don't seem to be made any more - the last few times I asked for one at a WDW resort they didn't have them.

Huh? With that route you're going all the way to Tampa and then coming back north. That's only a couple hours out of the way.

Where off 192 are you staying? That will make a difference. (And I think you forgot to include the FL turnpike in your directions...)

Down I-75 from Gainsville past Ocala change to Florida's Turnpike, skip the Rte 27 exit and the interchange to 429 (the new road) will come up. Down 429, just after the brand new Disney World Hartzog Road exit is 192.

For points east of WDW on 192 it is quicker to get off at the Disney/Hartzog exit, go into Disney and right onto Buena Vista. A few blocks later is Osceola Parkway to I-4 west to 192.

When is all of this scheduled to open, or is it open now? We're driving down the end of May.

Last time I drove the highway was accessible but the disney exit was not up yet. The 192 exit was available though.

The Disney exit is now open.

Route 429 runs from Apopka to 192, intersecting with the Tpke along the way. It is not yet extended to I-4 at the south end of Polk County.
