Part 8: The Happiest Place on Earth?
We had a little time before we needed to find a spot for the parade, so we decided to book it over to Adventureland. A long line had gathered to meet the characters and go trick-or-treating because the fireworks had just ended, so we weren't sure we were going to have enough time before the parade. We got in line and then the CM's told everyone to go this way for "just candy" and this way to meet the characters. Well, we stayed in the line to meet the characters, but it turned out that all the people in the "just candy" line ended up skipping everyone in line for the characters once they were in the building. It really slowed down the line and was very unfair to all of us waiting patiently in the correct line to meet the characters. We were disappointed in the CM's and that they didn't put a stop to this. Everyone should have just stayed in line, so there was no skipping and jumping in line.
Since, the lines were so backed up I only got to meet one character, King Louie! I had to miss out on meeting Timon, Tarzan, Jane & Terk. I did run into Jane on our way out and she told us to have a wonderful time at the parade!
It was at this point that we began to have many unpleasant experiences with fellow guests.
My Mom and I love Dole Whips and had to make sure to get one before the end of the night. We decided to go get Dole Whips and then find a spot to wait for the parade.
Of course, there was only one line open at the Dole Whip Hut and it was pretty long. Everyone was waiting patiently and then they finally decided to open another window. Some guy had the nerve to jump up to the window and skip everyone waiting patiently in line!

We were all furious and couldn't believe the nerve of people! It mad us even more angry that the CM took his order! It just makes me so sad that people act like this, especially at the Happiest Place on Earth! I turned to the rude guest and gave him the stare down followed by, "Welcome to the happiest place on Earth and thank you for making my trip so magical." He quickly looked away and I just shook my head in disappointment.
Well, we had horrible service getting our Dole Whips and the CM's were just rude! My Mom was dissappointed as well because she remembers a time when no one with that kind of attitude would be hired and working at the Magic Kingdom.
We were happy to get our favorite treats! I got a pineapple Dole Whip and a cup of pineapple juice!

I was dying of thirst and gulped that down before we finished paying. My Mom got a Dole Whip float with pineapple Dole Whip!
It was melting fast, so I didn't get to take a picture until I had eaten half of it!
We found one of the last good spots for the parade over in Liberty Square and had more interactions with rude guests! I had a woman with two children almost try to take my spot and sit on me as I was taking a seat next to my Mom!

I seriously just don't understand people sometimes!
Well, we took a seat and enjoyed our Dole Whips and just couldn't get over all the rude behavior at the Magic Kingdom! I know I'm always my happiest and most generous when I'm at the Happiest Place on Earth, but whatever!
We had a family of four come sit behind us. The daughter was about 8 and their son was around 5, I would say. I had a feeling there was going to be trouble after what we had just experienced earlier. Oh, and there was!
First, four dead men made their way over right in front of us! My Mom and I were so happy because we are never in the right spot!

The men began to tell us the story of the headless horseman through song!

They were great and very fun to watch! They told a few jokes too and we really enjoyed it!
I told my Mom that the Headless Horseman would be riding soon! We both stood up, as did everyone else because it is impossible to really see all of the parade or take any photos if you're sitting down during a parade. Well, as soon as we stood up all we heard was moaning and groaning behind us from the 8-year old girl and her mother. Oh, here we go!
The Headless Horseman was awesome and such a sight to see!
We then heard the Mother begin her rant, "Some people are so rude...blah, blah, blah!"
Are you serious!?

We're rude because we got here on time to get a good spot and now we're enjoying the parade we paid to see!?
The little girl then pushed herself and her younger brother up between my Mom and I! We heard the mother, "Can you see!? Can you see!?"
I'm glad they cared that maybe my Mom and I would like to enjoy the parade together!! We now couldn't even talk to one another without squishing next to the two children and speaking loudly right over their heads!
My Mom and I have a huge problem with this because we've been going to WDW my entire life, since my Mom was pregnant with me! I went to WDW when I was 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc and my parents never pushed us in front of anyone for any reason! My parents would never have expected anyone to move or make way for us and no one ever gave my brother and I that special treatment! It's just really rude to me that just because they have younger children they couldn't bother to understand that this was a special time for my Mom and I to enjoy together during our first
MNSSHP! Maybe that mother will understand one day when she is there with her 23-year old daughter and they are trying to enjoy a special moment watching a parade at WDW together!
Well, that all occured during the entire parade, so I'll get back to the fun and happy moments in the next installment!
