Two Bad CMs In One Day

I guess it is just one of those days. I went shopping at DTD and purchased over $150 worth of items. I showed the CM my AP so that I would get my ten percent discount. She took my AP and looked it over carefully before handing it back to me. She then finished the sale. I put it on my Visa Debit. Once I got the sales slip, I noticed I did not get my discount. I told the CM this. Her explanation was that she thought that the system would just know to give it to me. Now, I understand that mistakes happen. I told her to please refund my purchases and redo it to give me my discount. She did. Unfortunately, the refund will not go back to my bank account for 3 to 4 days. The new purchase was withdrawn from my bank account immediately. I guess it is a good thing I didn't need this money right away.

Then, I made a delivery of a gift basket to All Star Music. At most resorts, I deliver to the front desk. Recently the All Star resorts have had me deliver to Bell Services. So, I walk my gift basket up to the Bell Services desk. This CM came out and told me that I can no longer deliver to them. I asked where I needed to take my deliveries. He told me to take it to Cast Services just outside the front gate.

I trot back to my car and drive up to Cast Services. Of course, I can't get in. It has a card key access. So, I go back to the resort. Of course, my luck, I have to talk to the same CM. I told him that I am not a cast member and did not have access to Cast Services. He said "So what? Federal Express people aren't cast member. UPS people aren't cast members. What makes you any better?"

I couldn't believe the way he was talking to me. I told him that I made my deliveries to the front desk of every other resort. He said that they changed things four weeks ago. I tried to explain to him that I have made many deliveries within the past four weeks and was never told anything about delivering to Cast Services. He told me it was because I always just "dumped" my baskets on them and took off before they could tell me. By this time I was really angry. I never leave a basket until the CM has verified that the guest is checking in.

While I was standing there, a family came and told him they were missing a piece of luggage. He went to the back to look and then told them it wasn't in the back. They asked what they should do. His answer "How should I know?". Also, a van from Coronado Springs pulled up. A CM got out and told him she had a luggage transfer from Coronado Springs. His reply "Well take it in then. You'd make me do it if it was the other way around." The Coronado Springs CM just shook her head and started hauling out luggage.

I eventually got over to Cast Services and managed to get in by pressing a little button and talking to someone. I certainly don't have a problem with the resort changing its procedures. I do have a problem with someone being so nasty. I got his name. I hate the thought of ratting on someone, but this guy was just mean. I think I will talk to a manager next time I'm over that way.

I had a not so magical Disney day!

YOu need to say something about that second CM. That is way beyond having a bad day rude--that is inappropriate behavior period. Don't think of it is a ratting out a CM..think of it as...preserving the magic for future guests.

Sorry about your experiences!

They SHOULD have just done a post-void on that first transaction, which would have reversed the charge to your debit account (it would probably still showing pending for the next day or so, but then it would disappear off without ever showing as an actual charge) and then rung the transaction again.

It was one of those days Peggy. I was in WOD in DTD too today, around 1ish. Anyway I had a rather large purchase myself and the CM asked if I had any discounts I replied that I did have my AP. She rang it up and then said that the discount didn't come through. I asked her to re ring it and same as you....debit card.
Then I figured I owed myself a iced mocha cap at Ghiradelli's and showed the AP for the discount and once again....no discount. I brought it to that CM's attention as well but instead of offering me the difference in cash she gave me chocolate.
And that's news to me that AS are doing that. I just had a run over to Pop and it was front desk....same as always.

It sounds like the 2nd CM should be working in a different business, one that doesn't involve contact with people. ;) I would report him, there is no reason to be so rude and nasty. :sad2:

I would have reported that CM as well .

I always ask if the discounts take now I think some really just don't know but something inside says differently .

The 1st CM sounded like they just didn't know the cash register computer system very well...perhaps they were new?

The second was plain rude. You should have asked to speak to their supervisor immediately.

1st CM could have been earning their ears, or new to the register, no biggie.

2nd CM, get his name and write the letter, there is no excuse for his behavior. Not only was he rude to a guest infront of another guest, but he was rude to a fellow cast mate as well as a delivery person. This cast member sounds dissatisfied with his job, and you should, "HELP" him on his way out the door.
