two AWESOME WISCONSIN adults go to Disney for the first time. updated!!! 1/15/12 MK

Well, whats better than eating lunch after nearly vomiting from something George Lucas has made?

We were really excited to eat here, for the B clips. Dont know if you noticed Tims Godzilla shirt that he wore this day but he loves old school movies. Also really likes Mystery Science Theatre which rips apart old silly B movies.

We forgot to take pictures of our appetizers. we were laughing up a storm and eating and got carried away. I am sorry that i will not be providing pictures of BLT soup or onion rings!

I had:
The Reuben - Corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing on marble rye bread, served with a pickle spear and a choice of cucumber salad of french fries $12.49

I got it with fries and i also asked for a white bread instead of rye. Not a rye lover.
P9170488.jpg

I have been thinking about a rueben for a long time. Remember my diet. So i was finally able to eat one and it was ok. not the best. needed more saurkraut. But im from Wisconsin. maybe its just me and my love of saurkraut.

Tim had:
Angus Chuck Burger - flame broiled beef patty topped with cheddar or Swiss cheese, sauteed onions, mushrooms, and crispy bacon, lettuce and vine-ripened tomatoes, served with a choice of cucumber salad or french fries $13.99

This burger was massive. Seriously! look at this thing!

P9170490.jpg

he liked it. it was a burger. Tim lives for burgers.
for dessert i had red velvet cheesecake thing. it wasnt very good. i barely ate it.

P9170491.jpg

and i really cannot remember what this is. I dont see it on the menu on ALLEARS so yeah. heres what tim had:

When we left we went over to the Muppet area. i am SO PSYCHED for the new Muppet movie coming out. its going to be EPIC.
i loved all of the music piped in the area from the movies. I have a lot of them on my IPOD. We watched the Muppet attraction. wish it did NOT have that dimensional thing. its dumb. its not a muppet. the potential here is GREAT and i was dissapointed by every moment that had that non Muppet thing in it.

P9170512.jpg

This was in the Muppet area gift shop (which did not have very much Muppet stuff by the way. very disappointed with that toooo!!!! i want my Muppet shop to be OOOOZING MUPPET CRAP!)

P9170514.jpg

I love the Muppets too! I agree, the gift shop is lacking. I would want more from there and it's just not so. I'm hoping that there is a Muppet resurgence after this movie and that people will want more Muppets. I mean, in my opinion, who wouldn't?

Loving your trip report so far. I am from Appleton but live in Anchorage Alaska now. I was just back home in Sept. Had to stop at Packer Hall of Fame and did the tour. I also went to Bay Beach, it is no Disney but will always be my first amusemant experience. I drove by six flags but did not get to stop this time. I love the Packers and Disney. Great pictures, looking forward to seeing more.

Great update! After riding it, we just opt out of the Toy Story Mania mania. We just don't see what's so cool about it :confused3

Reading this post made me want to beat DHS, pronto!

I am having some problems with pics showing up.

Hate the giant drop at six flags too.

Your dh recovered pretty good after Star Wars, did you like the new updates?

right? once they make oodles of money from the new movie i hope they throw muppet stuff out in the gift shops like they do with the nightmare before christmas stuff.

Bay beach is old skool awesome. now they have that Elvis rollercoaster so we're in the big leagues now with a full sized rollercoaster, Zippin Pippin!

this was my first ever trip to DHS so i couldnt tell you how i like it compared to the old one. and i liked it enough. ill prolly never ride it much since tim cant handle it.
and i dont know about the pic problem. I know i paid for the pro photobucket and so i shouldnt be having problems. hope you can see them soon, they are EPIC.

I am one of those crazies that run with the bulls for TSM...even expalining to DD that she must hold our hand so she doesn't get trampled or lost in the crowd ( we just don't tell her she will be dragged if she can't keep up!:rotfl2: Kidding:rolleyes1)

I really love DHS, it's just got a great vibe to it.

I've heard that Star Wars rides was kinda:sick:, so we for sure skipped it. We are a motion sickness fam, so it really wouldn't have gone well for us!

We went to Sci Fi too, and loved it! The themeing is so cool and the movie clips fun to watch. I had the rueben too and it was good, sauerkraut could have been more, it must be a WI thing!

sorry ive been MIA. the dog had major surgery and ive had to medicate him several times daily and then i came down with pneumonia and so begins the busy flu/viral season at the doctors office....yeah. good times. i will do another update soon enough!

i liked Star Tours, but i did notice i had a headache after it, but maybe it was from DH complaining. :rotfl: not sure. i hope to get on it again myself someday though. didnt enjoy it much since i thought he was going to hurl and i had to think of a way to pretend i didnt know him if that happened.

im off from work for a few days, thank you pneumonia. haha. so lets bust out some updates shall we?

Decided to walk around a little to take in the park being the first visit and all.

Tim is drinking coffee from that writers shop place. it wasnt bad.
and thank you DISBOARDS for teaching me to step on the button on the ground under the umbrella no one around us knew and i felt like a pro when people asked me how i knew about it. haha

At this point it began POURING.
I did not take pictures, but we RAN to Lights motor action or whatever its called. It was going ok, raining more and more and then they stopped the show due to rain.
Then the wind kicked in and there was SIDEWAYS rain, getting us completely soaked. Not the best time ever.
the rain let up, and they restarted. the cars didnt go as fast as they usually d so that was kinda of a bummer. I really liked the Lightning McQueen segment that they have now.

Once the show was over it kept raining, so we headed into The One Mans Dream. It was interesting. We did not watch the video at the end.

P9180528.jpg

my sad face.
P9180529.jpg

one of the best disney movies ever.
P9180533.jpg

still pouring.
so ran into little mermaid show. it was fun. the giant ursela was kinda scary.
and seriously- how many shows are going to spit water on me?
next hop was into the animation building since the rain wouldnt let up.
the line was insane because of the rain so we went to the meet and greet area.

i really really loved the new POOH movie so it was ur first stop and i loved the Q.

P9180538.jpg

P9180539.jpg

we are rumbly in our tummies
P9180540.jpg

P9180542.jpg

Walked around some shops before ADR for dinner.

P9180546.jpg

Warm Seasonal Fruit Cobbler - with Créme Fraîche and Orange Blossom Honey $6.00

P9180565.jpg

we then split up. i went to get seats at fantasmic and tim went and used the fastpasses for tower of terror. i couldnt do it! i just couldnt ride it! maybe next time. im a huge chicken. haha

fantasmic was fun. pretty. bright shiny lights.

afterwards i asked tim what he wanted to do.
he said whatever i wanted to do.
i was EXHAUSTED but my brain was on a DISNEY train so i said

tim was very upset that the TIKI ROOM was not open at one am.
stayed till 130 ish grabbed our bus and was in bed by 230.

I loved that new Pooh movie too. Wasn't it awesome?

When my daughters asked me to go I wasn't terribly interested but once it hit the dollar theatre I took them. DD13 got embarrassed as we were walking toward the theatre thinking she was going to be the only teen there. She could not have been more wrong. There were three rows of older teens that were all there together and it became obvious that they really enjoyed it as well. :rotfl: Also when I looked behind us I saw a few more scattered throughout. So I made sure to tell her, on the way home, that there were more teens than young children!

Tim and I were the only people there without any kids. and we laughed the loudest of anyone in the movie! its great! i love that they went back to the old skool reading from a book deal. I bought it on Blu Ray and planning on having a Winnie the Pooh showing for some friends from work!

I hope you get better soon! I had pnuemonia 2 years in a row 2009 & 2008 and I was down a out for week at a crack both times. I hope you doggy is doing well too!

Holy cats, 2am! Kuddos to you!

We managed to out-manuver to rain most of the time. The only time I was really worried I bought an umbrella and it stopped raining!

Yeah, there were days I needed a nap from my nap;)

We got very lucky that night. I don't want to get ahead of both our TR's but some characters got pulled, but again we got lucky!

Haha.. I can see Chris doing the same thing with the blue stuff. And then being more excited about the sno-cone stuff than the tuna

Sound like an awesome day, even with the rain.

So lets see...
ANimal Kingdom day.
September 19th and its a Monday!
We wake up early, which is painful since we were up till the wee hours the night prior, but we have ADRs at Tusker House with DONALD at 815 am.
We take the ugly red car and drive to animal kingdom.

I bought a new top just for this day, because im a nerd.
The park had EMH and was open at 8 am so we just went straight to Tusker House.

P9180590.jpg

I got SO SO SO many compliments on my panda top. haha. YAY
the person who walked thru with the pictures to sell said that two girls in the back wanted to know where i got it (hot topic) and its really a dress!
but with the heat and chub rub wearing it as a dress i would have been asking for trouble so i threw some shorts on.

P9180591.jpg

This was a good breakfast.
It was yummy.
They said the special for the day was Krispy Kreme donuts.
haha. no thanks!
but that juice everyone ravs about was really awesome!

P9180593.jpg

P9180595.jpg
