Oh nooo! I'm bad! I'm sorry everybody, for the big delay in replying! Last week was the last week of school before our 2 week Easter holidays, so it was just craaazy busy. And then yesterday I went to a friend's wedding, and today I've been sleeping!!

But you know what? Now, I'm on holidays for two weeks! Yayyyyy!! :cool1: And I will DEFINITELY be posting heaps now!! So let's get back to it!!

LouDisney... Yayyy, another X-Files fan! Glad to hear I'm not the only one glued to the screen to watch a bit of Mulder! Hee!

Summer-Caitlin... Glad you found your way back to my trip report! We did the exact same thing about ordering food in restaurants - we knew we should have shared, but naaah! The food was too good!

happyindisney... Thanks for letting us know that Clarice is the third chipmunk! It makes me think of Silence Of The Lambs, but oh well! Glad you're enjoying my report! :thumbsup2

erinstar... Your trip sounds great! You'll have to do your own trip report all about it!!

Marion... Ohhh, poor Marion! Your experience at Space Mountain sounds awful! I'm sorry I scared you again! You definitely won't go sliding around the seats this time, but you might still be gripping onto the bar! Hee!!

Marjol... Yay! Glad you're loving my trip report!

GoofyBaby... The next installment will be up soon, I promise!!

patches07... Good to hear that other people thought the Pop beds were small too! They were kind of like a big single bed, I reckon! And have fun in September!! :woohoo:

disneyaddicted... Sorry for making you feel queazy from the Tea Cups photo!! Eeek!

olsona... Wow, you're going to Disney twice this year! I'm so jealous!! Glad you're enjoying my report!!

PrincessJenn... Thanks for subscribing!

mbtileguy... It's so nice to hear that Disney means so much to so many people! Hope you have a fantastic time with your daughter in July!

Emmo... Your trip this September / October sounds great! You'll love LA! And I hadn't even noticed the water on the ground in our Rock'n'Roller Coaster photo! Wow! Funny about your hubby from Adelaide - I think he and my DF really would get on well!! Ha!

missmun52... Ohhh, you should have tried Rock'n'Roller Coaster! It's so totally different to Space Mountain! Sure, it goes faster, but it's MUCH smoother and feels much more secure and safe!

lisaj... MGM is a bit lacking in terms of good food, you're right! Maybe you could have a chat with your little DD about Sci-Fi and ask her if she thinks she'd like it. And... hello Lisa's DS!! Glad you're following along too!! :yay:

BostonTink... I know, I'm so sad I had to throw my frozen lemonade out! And I never actually got around to having another one throughout the rest of the week! Booo!

KathyRN137... Glad you're enjoying my report!!

ben's disneymom... Wow, what a scary experience with your sister's braces getting caught in your hair!! See, Space Mountain IS scary and dangerous!!! Heee!! Nice to hear that your DS is enjoying my report too - Hiya Ben!! :thumbsup2

wdw girl 18... Yay! Nice to hear you're loving the report!!

A fat english gent... I feel so mean calling you that, by the way. But glad you're still here and enjoying my report!

DebIreland... Yahooo! Glad you're enjoying my report! And we haven't even made it to Ireland yet!! :confused3 Hee!

Marion... Don't worry, I'm still here! Sorry!! I'll be back with a vengeance now that I'm on holidays, so look out!! :yay:

BusyMom85... There'll definitely be more trip report! Thanks for stopping by!! :woohoo:

nts4wdw... Glad you like the pictures. I love trip reports with lots of photos too, so I had to throw lots in!!

When you were describing your wait for your rice crispie treat I was right there with you picturing Rowan Atkinson in Love Actually. :lmao:

It's so nice to hear your view of our lovely country - glad your experiences have been mostly good so far - apart from the crack guy! :scared1: Oh my!!!

My dh and I always ask for a king size bed at the Pop. Like you we never get one and end up sleeping in seperate beds! :sad2: :sad2: They do seem smaller than most!

Looking forward to more! popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

Chapter 7… Afternoon at Magic Kingdom, and Boma!

After our very busy morning at Magic Kingdom, lunch was definitely next! We had an ADR at The Plaza, and were seated straight away. It really is a gorgeous little restaurant, and the air-conditioning is even better! It was really hot outside by then, and inside The Plaza was icy cold! Fantastic!!

Our server was a huge lady called Dot. Heee. That still makes me giggle. Dot wasn’t overly friendly, but she was speedy with the service, so that was okay! I ordered the chicken and strawberry salad, which was delicious and fresh, although I liked the crunchy garlic croutons the best!

DF ordered a hamburger, with added bacon and cheese. He looooved his burger, and ate it all! It was the first time either of us finished a meal at Disney! Yay!

We wanted to try one of their famous sundaes for dessert, but we were just too full! So we headed off in search of more Magic Kingdom adventures. Woohoo!

Oh, except before we embarked on any more adventures, DF needed a bathroom stop. While he was inside, a little duck waddled up to me and we made friends. Seriously, the duck was following me. For a while I thought he was an animatronic Disney trick, like the talking trash can, but no! He was a real duck, who just happened to like me! Here he is, my little friend…

IMG_0509.jpg

Eventually DF came out of the bathroom, so the duck and I had to bid farewell. Booo! DF and I decided to have a nice quiet ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. I still don’t really get why it’s called that, or what the actual ride is all about, but we enjoyed it anyway! The views of the park were great, and it was a nice way to let our lunch settle a bit.

After that though, we walked past Buzz Lightyear and discovered it still only had a 5 minute wait, so we gave it another go! I can’t remember our scores, but I know DF did much, much better than me!! Lots of fun though! We love Buzz! :yay:

By this stage, we were getting a bit sleepy, so we decided to head back to Pop for an afternoon rest. On our way though, we stopped to pick up one of these on the way…

Yum!! We LOVED our Pineapple Float! It was so fresh and tasty and thirst-quenching! Perfect for a hot day! Even just the other day, DF said to me out of the blue, “Remember that pineapple ice-cream thing we had at Disney World? That was GREAT!” It really was! :thumbsup2

So with a Pineapple Float in hand, we made our way slowly and leisurely out of Magic Kingdom, stopping at some nice views as we went. Here’s DF enjoying our stroll… how pretty!

We also stopped in a few shops in Main Street on our way out, and I bought a pink vintage Mickey bag, and my very first Disney pins – Bambi and Jiminy Cricket. Yay! I’d decided that I didn’t want to buy a lanyard to display my pins, because I thought it might be too heavy and hot, so I attached the pins to my Mickey bag instead. Yahoo!

Here I am, wandering down Main Street…

IMG_0514.jpg

We eventually left Magic Kingdom, and headed back to Pop, where we had an afternoon nap for an hour or so. I love afternoon naps when I’m on vacation! We didn’t sleep for long though – at 5.30 we headed off again to MGM, then caught a bus from MGM to Animal Kingdom Lodge, where we had a dinner ADR at Boma! Yayyy!

Dinner wasn’t until 7pm, so we had about half an hour to explore AKL, which is just gorgeous. Originally, we were planning to stay at AKL, but decided we were already spending way too much on our 7 week vacation, so we stuck with Pop instead. Pop was fun, but it was certainly no AKL!!

We wandered out to the savannah lookout area for a while, where a lovely castmate chatted to us about the animals we might see there. For some reason, DF and I decided we were on a mission to find a giraffe. :confused3 The castmate told us we should probably head into the Lodge itself, and stop at some of the lookouts in the hallways, and we’d see some giraffes. Wow, those hallways are LONG! And I have absolutely no sense of direction. It was a bit like a maze really. We eventually saw a couple of giraffes in the distance, but not after getting amazingly lost first. Heee.

Boma time!! We both really enjoyed our meal at Boma – although I probably liked it more than DF. I could have had a whole plate full of that peanut rice and the sun-dried tomato dip and flatbread! There was a great mix of traditional dishes and some fantastic new salads and flavours. Yum! Here’s my plate …. (DF’s plate looked pretty similar really!)

Now, the next day, we were scheduled to do a day trip to Kennedy Space Center. DF is a space nut and loves all things to do with astronauts and space, so this was his day, really. I was just along for the ride. However, guess what! The Atlantis shuttle was scheduled to be launched that same day, when we were going there! Wow! We couldn’t believe our good luck! While we were at AKL, we called the tour company to check that the details were still the same, and we were still being picked up from Pop at 8am.

Lucky we called them, because there was a big change – we were now due to be picked up at 5.10am. Whaaaat!? Apparently the roads from Orlando to KSC get jam-packed on launch days, so we needed to go early. Auhhhhhh!!! :headache:

So after a delicious dinner and a nice explore of Animal Kingdom Lodge, we headed back to Pop. We had a lovely night swim, then headed straight to bed for a good night’s sleep before our early, early rise the next day!!

Up next… Our crazy day at Kennedy Space Center!!

can't wait to read about your day at KSC. DH and i are doing that after our WDW vacation in may. he's so disappointed there's not a launch then, but i guess it's the luck of the draw!

Great report! I'm looking forward to this next bit as we want to spend a day at the Space Centre too. Who did you use for your tour? Was it just a taxi service type place that dropped you off and picked you up later or was it an actual tour guide that escorted you about for the day? Should I just be patient and all will be revealed? :goodvibes

The pineaplle float has my mouth watering, I am definitley going to try that next time. Great idea to put the pins on the purse.
Can't wait to read about Kennedy Space center.

If you are going to put your pins on your purse, please get the locking pin backs or you could lose your pins.

I'm really LOVING your trip report. Thanks! :goodvibes

I can't wait to read more.:surfweb:

My cousin just came back from a trip to Australia and she loved it. She siad she went to an ice bar where is was like 10 below and everything was ice except the floor. She told me that they even served your drink in a cup made of ice! Have you been there??

She loved it so much there she applied for grad school there as soon as she got home from an 11 day trip with her sister.

I would love to visit one day in the near future.

More great reports. We've booked to go to Kennedy too for DS but I wasn't planning on a middle of the night start! Looking forward to hearing how you got on.
