Two and a half hours on hold.... and worth every minute!

We made Cast Member Appreciation Cards at home, and handed them out during our trip, and they made it all the more magical. I will definitely be doing that again! We gave one to the popcorn guy at MK, and he was seriously estatic..

We did that last time too - did you design your own or use one of the designs that are already available (which is what lazy us did). Can you post an example of yours?

Look up! Look Down! Look around corners, etc. There are so many details that people don't notice.. This trip, I'm taking time to smell the proverbial flowers.. :flower3:

You are so right - I was amazed at the little details that they included in Cindy's castle, particularly in the area where you wait to meet Cindy.

Hey ! Nice to see you join in!

I'll see if I can dig them out when I get home, but.. I went to office depot and they had these little square multicolored sheets, they were near the index cards, and they were lined, like index cards. I put a smiley face sticker on one side, and on the other, i wrote, Thank You! From the Oxford Family.. I'd guess they were about 2" x 2", maybe a bit smaller...

I made these babies today.. one for me and one for DS.. DH says he's not wearing one.. Spoilsport.. ;)

Those are so cute. I made some similar for my last trip.. but I love how you have the hole in the ear. I never thought of doing that and I like how you did that better than how I did mine. I may just have to steal that for this next trip.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Those are so cute, you should attach one to the middle of your husband's back, without telling him!:rotfl:

We put coffee in our kid's milk when they're growing up.. I'm not sure why! But they love it.. It's not alot, I used to make Jarrott's so it was barely turned colors... maybe Laurie knows where the idea came from? I just did it bc my grandma did it, and so on and so forth.

I also saw that some DISers were putting their screennames on their LGMH's? I don't think mine would fit, and if it did, it would be too small to read!

I actually had one on his backpack last year, and he said it was silly bc we never saw a single other one the whole week? Wonder where everyone was?

These are the little index cards and stickers I used for my CM appreciation cards, you can find them near the regular index cards at Office Depot!

I also saw that some DISers were putting their screennames on their LGMH's? one was?

We did that with our LGMHs last trip - and of course, the font we chose was Waltograph, which approximates the basic Disney font. We did our DIS names on one side, our real first names on the other. Obviously we glue two LGMHs together for each one, back-to-back, which enabled this, but also made them sturdier, and then laminated them after doing the printing. They worked out pretty well.

And on the coffee thing - I started as a kid with coffee ice cream at Howard Johnson's on our trips to Cape Cod - we went to Cape Cod every other year to spend two weeks with friends that had a place on the beach. Loved that coffee ice cream, and nobody else's coffee ice cream has ever been as good.

Those are cute and a good idea. This is an example of the ones we used (sorry, guess you'll have to go to the site - the link didn't work) - got them at Tagrel.com, which I found through Rusty Scupper's Planning Tool site.

i have no idea where coffee milk originated, but my grandparents did it and so on and so forth, there was even an advertisment for a coffee company, CDM, hen i was younger and the litttle girl has milk and the grandpa coffee and he adds a spoon to hers, it was cute.

I REMEMBER THAT COMMERCIAL! She's sitting there with her milk, lookin all sad, and he puts some coffee in it!

I think coffee milk just came about because the kids always want what the adults have, and with coffee milk they think they are drinking coffee. I was so disappointed when I got older and tasted coffee! :sad2: Cafe au lait is the closest thing for adults! ;) But I still don't really like coffee even after starting out with the coffee milk.

Yep! What she said! And I don't really like coffee either..

This entry was made a week after my 180 day mark:

I started this PTR awhile back and just had it saved in my computer. Since I started it, things have changed. Last week I made all my ADR’s for December, got almost everything I wanted and was ready to sit back and count the days.

WELL. Last Friday, I got my son’s school calendar for the upcoming year, via email. They will be giving exams the week we had booked! Now, he is going into the 5th grade at a very small private school, and up to now, I hadn’t had to worry about things like exams. It never even crossed my mind. :scared1:

So I was in a panic. I dug my PIN email out to see what other dates it covered, that we could possibly change to. I found that I could move to the week before thanksgiving, and the PIN would still be good. Last year we went the week leading UP TO thanksgiving and those last few days were CROWDED! So now we’ll be leaving to come home the Friday before thanksgiving. From all reports, that is a really good week to go. Hopefully all the Christmas lights and decorations will be up! This is also neat because DS turns 11 the weekend we get home, so it’s kind of a birthday trip for him!

So after I called and changed my ressie to November, I had them transfer me to Dining to change THOSE ressies. I had originally booked Crystal Palace, Ohana, Boatwrights, SciFi and Via Napoli. Now we are dong Ohana, Boatwrights, Sci Fi, Coral Reef and Le Cellier! I’m super excited about Coral and SciFi for my son, bc on his last Disney trip we didn’t do any sit-downs, just counter service, so he has no idea how cool some of the restaurants are!

Well hello, myfitnesspal friend! I lurked a bit and found your PTR and I am a sucker for a good PTR!
Sounds like a good trip! I'm glad you were able to move things around to November (YAY less waiting!) with little trouble. Looking forward to more!

Hey!! Glad you made it!

Ive got like 5 more updates saved! :rotfl:

PS. Your'e doing great! I love the MFP group, they're a great bunch!

I’ve always wanted to do a Signature Dining place, we are normally 1TS credit type.. But some of the menus for the 2TS places look incredible!

After reading reviews, I dumped Boatwrights, and scheduled California Grill for myself and Chris, and I’m looking into The Adventurer’s club at the Poly for DS while we go.. Any opinions/experiences on this are welcome!

Update:
Along with 94 million others, I was dialing the phone at 6am with Reservations, trying to add Free Dining to my trip! I dialed at 6am, showered with the phone on speaker, got dressed and did makeup with phone on speaker, had breakfast and fed the dog with phone on speaker. Then I drove to work with phone on speaker, and when I got there, LEFT phone on speaker, (turned low), and set it on my desk while working! After 2 hours and 18 minutes on hold, I got myself a real live castmember! He told me, NO PROBLEM, and added the FD. Of course this meant that I lost my room discount, but the Free Dining Promo saved us an additional $400.00 and something dollars, some of which I used to…… add another night! Now we’re doing six nights, so that meant that I had another table credit to use… So I put Boatwright’s BACK on the plan for our last night. YAY for more time at Disney!

Side note: Another DISer started at Facebook group for December planners, and even after I changed to November, they allowed me to stay. I have to say they are the nicest, funniest bunch of people I’ve ever had the pleasure to “hang out”with.

That’s all for now..
