I have 2 questions regarding AKV concierge. We are currently booked in a 1br for 10/4-12.

1. Will we have any need for groceries?
(we usually pick up some soda, water, juice, milk, breakfast stuff and snacks) I'm thinking with the lounge offerings we won't really have any need for more but this is our first CL stay so I'm not sure. Thoughts?

2. United has bumped our flight to MCO later, we're not arriving now until 9:30p. If it were you would you drop the first night off the ressie and just get one night somewhere else? If we keep that night we wouldn't get to the resort until after the lounge closes, would they put anything in our room for us as far as drinks or snacks?

TIA

If you normally buy just snacks and breakfast items, you won't need to buy juice, milk, sodas, fruit, cereal, etc. You can always bring food items to your room to enjoy the next day if you don't want to go on their service schedule. I don't think they have a lot of chips and cracker type snacks, so if you want that kind of stuff, you may want to buy that.

If you arrive around 9pm, you won't get to the resort until 10ish. If it were me, I would keep the reservation. Then you are ready to head out early the next morning and not have to worry about waiting for the room to be ready and transferring from another hotel, etc. Your vacation can begin that night.

I would drop that first night personally. But then UA could change the schedule again!:confused3

I don't think they would stock your refrigerator...at least I've never heard of that. Best case, you will be at the resort by 11:00pm.

You could check in first thing in the am and still enjoy breakfast there, etc..

You can still have breakfast the next morning if you check-in early. I was there last month, we stayed in a regular DVC studio the night before and checked into concierge around 8:00am, our room was not ready but we had breakfast. Also on the last day we came back for an afternoon break, our flights were not until evening (they told us we had access for the remainder of the day). While we were sitting there, we watched a family check into our old room!

One thing we thought was missing was bottled water. They did have large bottles that you could pour water into a glass but none to take with you. They had cans of soda/pop in a fridge.

I'm not trying to put a damper on your trip but if you are planning your Concierge stay because of the Kilimanjaro Club, you may be disappointed. To us the snacks are no big deal and not really worth the $230. It is kinda fun watching people attack the "free" food.
