Virgins twilight check in at Gatwick, do you drop your suitcases off the night before as well as getting your boarding cards?

Yes, Claire - you literally check in the same as you would if you arrived on the day of the flight. Anything which needs to go in the hold will need to be checked in. Twilight check-in will be tricky with the new restrictions if you're staying overnight at a hotel, because you won't be able to take any of your toiletries on the flight as hand baggage. A better option may be to check-in online the day before and then drop your hold luggage at the collection point on the day of the flight.

Not sure if you are still able to do this as the last time I flew with VA was last year but as regards to the overnight bag, we were allowed to check this in the following day even though we had completed twilight check in the night before and off loaded the cases and received our boarding cards just produced our documents and off we went. My parents flew to Barbardos in July with VA and again they were allowed to do this but due to recent events who knows

I would check in online, print my boarding pass from the computer and then hand my baggage over the next morning. I did this last month as I was staying overnight at the hotel and wanted to put dirty clothes in the suitcase and have fresh for the next day, worked out great and I knew I had my seat allocation already.

We stay at one of the resorts connected to Gatwick. (Hilton this time.) What we do is have a small bag that we use and then put in our boot in the morning. That way we don't have to lug stuff we don't need in Florida with us.

If you book a room plus parking package you will probably end up having to park at the Summertime Special carpark over past the North Terminal. When you drop your car off there you leave your keys and the car is parked for you. You cannot return to the car to put overnight bags away the next morning

We used twilight check in earlier this year and stayed at the Hilton. You do not need to take your car to the Summer special car park until the next morning if you don't want to - there is no dates etc on the voucher issued by the HIlton at check-in.

We put the car in the terminal car park overnight and then put our overnight bag in it next morning and then took it the car park. We were travelling with DD (age 18 mths) so had overnight stuff we did not want to take with us.

Sorry Nibby, I did this with BA 4 weeks ago and just assumed you could print with Virgin too.
