DD12 had the Twin Rix vaccine series ( 2 or 3 shots) 2 years ago(no side effects). At last years check up doctor said that in Grade 7 she will be offered the vaccine again (but at no charge this time). Dr. said to go ahead and let her get the vaccine again and this will act as a booster of the vaccine she had a couple years ago.
DD12 had the first shot yesterday. She has developed a strange raised mark (looks kind of like a large bee sting) several inches below where the injection was made. The strange mark looks like it is getting worse vs. better.
Is this a normal side effect? Maybe it is a hive? She had hives from a flu shot a few years ago.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. She is out playing with her dog and is not in any sort of distress but am wondering if I should take her to an emergency room to get it looked at?
