Yup, I've been actually reading alot more since I started reading Twilight. my DMIL is so happy! I was so impressed with The Host. You have to remember that this woman is not an author! I mean she is, obviously, but she is not trained for that and here these wonderful ideas keep falling out of her head.

I thought the host came together so well.. it had such depth and I really liked it.

See my problem is that I've always been a crazy reader (think 5-7 books a week on average), and then I couldn't get into anything. Not that re-reading the Twilight books was bad (I'm still currently going through Breaking Dawn yet again), I was just worried that I would never be able to read anything else again.

I think it's so great though how these books have gotten people who wouldn't normally pick up a book to find a love of reading. I know of at least two people in my own circle of friends and acquaintances who have become hooked, and I get this warm and fuzzy feeling.

okay, enough of the sappy stuff....back to your regularly scheduled Blue Banana discussions popcorn::

Give it some time and I bet you'll like it, the tone took some getting used to for me in the beginning after the Twilight series...

Stick with it. I started the first book then left it because I didnt like it. Then I watched The whole season of True Blood one weekend. Then I thought something must be wrong with me because peeps were raving about it. So I got back into it and now I am mid thru book 7 and getting weepy that I am almost done with the series until May 09. It's very good but quite different than Twilight but alot of similarities.

Thanks, guys. Good to know that other people had a hard time getting into it, but ended up liking it. DS just went down for his nap, so I think I'm going to curl up with my new book. :thumbsup2

I'm very similar! As a matter of fact, I feel guilty buying books because I read them so quickly, it almost seems like a waste.

That being said, I own all four of the Twilight series. When I like something, then it's worth it, you know?

I totally agree. I've often entertained the notion of reading Twilight to my husband to see if it catches his interest. The only thing that man reads, god bless him, is Electronic Gaming Monthly. :lmao:

It'll catch his interest if you make it enticing enough! :lmao:

I was exactly the same way-then I finished the Twilight books and felt lost. :sad2: Thankfully that's worn off again and I'm able to read other things. It was a very strange feeling-like I'd been hypnotized! Of course, nothing else I've read since has had that effect.

I might have to get on Facebook-now I feel like I'm missing something! My husband will think I'm so strange. I'm already into the same music my kids are into because of Twilight. I got an Ipod for Christmas and bought the Twilight Soundtrack and some Muse and Blue October  I think he thinks I'm having a mid-life crisis :rotfl2:

*OK first i'm so excited it finally put the Blue Banana in my signature.. And no there is absolutely no weirdness here at all...none whatsoever.

*Spongie that is quite the collection you have there...an intervention might be a good idea  just joking...

*The Snugglie's..we crack up everytime we see the commercial for them, i always say they look like a cult or a bunch of monks...love the part where the guy and girl are playing chess in their maching snugglies..lol

*I'm not on FaceBook, but i may just sign up today..lol You are all so much fun.

*As for Brett Michaels..i totally forgot the show started, i love all that crap lol
Sometime in the season his tatoo artist (Tony) will be on the show..i know him personally, he's a really nice guy..kinda cool that he is his personal tatoo artist..

We love those Snugglie commercials, too! What my husband points out is how they are all sitting around with loose draping sleeves (even the kids) around an open fire at one point!:scared1:

I'd heard about it but didn't realize it wasn't out yet. (I'd like to get some of those pieceworks cards, they look pretty cool.) HT told me they're getting new Twilight items for Valentine's Day. They also let me smell the perfume, it was um....kind of like bug spray. :confused3 As it started wearing off, it smelled more tolerable. Not sure I'd spend $50 on it though. If I could find it at Borders (where it's only $24.99) I might consider....

just stopping by to say hi ! i wasnt to be added to your crazy twilight facebook page If ya like My name is Misty Johnson

I will be back to catch up and read and post ...as far as that board game i am all over that....;) just need that one more thing for my collection okay so OBSESSION...:confused3

The other method to get your blue banana:

Right click on it in somebody else's signature. Click on "properties". Highlight and copy the url.

Then go to the user CP where you edit your signature. Position your curser where you want the banana (just DON'T even touch that one, okay, girls? I'm NOT trying to double-entendre! :rotfl:) Then click on the little icon above that shows the mountain with the sun "insert image". A dialogue box comes up with "http:\\" and you're supposed to paste the url you copied there. But the url you copied already has the http stuff on it, so first, backspace that out, so you don't have a double "http\\" in there. Then preview it to see if it worked.

Hope that helps! :)

Yay! Thank you so much!!!

Who was this again?? - Sorry, I lost it with all the quotes and codes...
"I was thinking about re-reading that as well. I haven't read it since high school and don't really remember it. Although I remember I didn't really like it, maybe having read Twilight will give me a new perspective."

I did not like it the first time. And yes twilight gives a new persepective. The two quotes in Twi are from the best parts of Wuthering Heights. It's a very sad read. Now I get why Edward finds Heathcliff so distasteful.

And someone asked if it is a hard read. Yes and no. I found I could read multiple chapters only at night when I could really concentrate. There's only one character that is insanely hard to understand when he talks but the book I have has his quotes in more plain english as a footnote, which I always differed to.

Ayhow, I haven't even read the last 2 pages but lunch is almost over... Yikes...I need more time!!!!

I didn't notice that. I will have to pay more attention to the commercial next time. The part that got on my nerves is when they are at a sporting event. Just how warm is something going to keep you when your entire back is exposed.

Tell me how you watched the whole first season in one weekend. I don't have HBO. Is it available for download online?
