yeah...Bill on the show..I like. Bill in the books, not so much...he's always so serious and uncharismatic. Eric is so much better!!!! Now I might be run away from this thread with flames and pitchforks...But I like the Sookie series better than the Twilight series. They are more well written, I love the fact that Sookie is no nonsense and can get herself out of stuff. They are definitely more adult...definitely...there are some pretty steamy scenes in some of the books, let me tell you...That Charlaine Harris knows how to write some sexy scenes!

Now don't get me wrong...I love Stephenie...but I've been harboring this secret for long enough..lol.

I like them differently-I found the Sookie books through love of Twilight but they are good in different ways. I like that Sookie is an adult! My husband likes the HBO show, too and that's really the only show that we "share" a love for. Don't worry, no torches and pitchforks here!

I LOVED THE HOST

It takes a minute to get through the first parts... once the main character gets out into the desert you're in business. I laughed, I cried, I thought. I loved it. It's very thought provoking. My DH liked it, too.

Summer's around here are very loud. Since I'm technically a stay at home mom, I usually keep my nephew to help my b.i.l. out with day care cost. My nephew and my youngest DS argue over anything and everything. However they are each other's best friend and want to be with each other all the time. Over Christmas break it got so bad one day that I made a "no talking" rule. If they wanted to play XBox360, they could not talk at all.

Nice! I have a constant "no chanting" rule. It's been right under the Golden Rule since day 1. I hate chanting.

Thats is really nice of you to do...oh and i know about being loud!! lol I have 3 girls 7,6 and 3, and they are the same way. They are the best of friends but argue over everything..then if DH an i try to seperate them, they get angry with us..lol

I find that my girls get along best when they are both "against" me! Having a common enemy draws them together. lol

You are entitled to a blue banana. I will make sure you get your banana one way or the other. Nobody goes without a blue banana on the dis. The blue banana will have YOU. Umm.. or vice versa.. either way, if you have room, you can have a banana.

Wouldn't it be handy if the dis would just put the ole blue boy into the side bar for us???

I like the books and the show, but they are really really different, so far books 3 & 4 are my favorite.

The only thing that has become a new pet peeve of mine is Charlaine Harris needs a better editor or something... maybe it's because I obsessively re-read books that I love that I catch things - but in one book she'll say Vampire Bill was born in such & such a year and then in a different book it'll be a different year. In book 2 a minor character survives a chatastrophe at the end of the novel and then she mentions the catastrophe in book 3 stating it's a shame the guy died! It's all minor details and I know she's banging out books left and right and don't get me wrong I love them, but she should be paying someone to catch this stuff... heck she could pay me!

With my Obsessive Cullen Disorder I sometimes forget that these books are written for a "young" audience.

Re-reading Eclipse and in the part when Jasper and Emmett are showing off their fighting skills to the wolves, when Emmett concedes, Stephenie writes, "He cusses."

I actually chuckled a bit when I read that, thinking of all the books and authors that would have completely elaborated on the simple, "He cusses."

I love that these books are able to cross over and be adored by so many, and still maintain integrity.

Somebody said it best, my memory is like a metal...sieve.... OME I kid you not: as I was writing that I actually forgot the punch line. SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! EDIT: ok, then I forgot to finish my story before I clicked "save" WHOLLEY CRAP my memory is bad. Anyway, what I meant was that I rarely remember minute details to know that the darn thing was wrong so I would be a crappy editor. LOL
