oh god I hope not...I HATE Dakota Fanning...personally I think that would be a horrible choice...I know she's a kid but I've never felt like she was a good actress.. I don't know who I'd imagine, but DEFNITELY not her.

I think they should pick another nobody, like with which they casted this film. It worked well and someone else's kid can get a break into showbiz (and all of the evils that come along with it for child actors. )

I don't like Dakota Fanning either. I agree with MichelleVW, she gives me the sense that she's a whiner, too.

OK - long time lurker here. Read all 4 books and Midnight Sun in 5 days. Took a day of vacation from work to see Twilight the day it opened.

My favorite character is Carlisle Cullen. He is the epitome of the perfect man to me.

I had to chime in and say I think that Kristen Durst and Dakota Fanning would be terrible choices for Jane. I always pictured Jane as looking like Jodelle Ferland from Silent Hill. That movie scarred the stuffing out of me.

And Cameron Bright as Alec (in a pearl gray suit of course).

Those are good choices for Jane and Alec. Of course, it helps that they were previously cast as creepy characters. Any beautiful child with strong facial bone structure would do, with good acting abilities and made up right. I kind of like the idea of casting a relatively unknown kid.

I'm dating myself, but in the older movie version of Dune, they cast a very young girl as Paul Atreides' little sister. The actress was herself a child genius, and it showed in her acting.

As far as choices for difficult future characters such as (in white) Renesmee, just think what Lord of the Rings did with Gollum. That was completely GCI with a live actor doing the motions. They could totally do it-- live actor with CGI overlay. Then shrink it to child sized. She's supposed to be proportioned more like a child than a baby, anyway.

Yeah, like I'm an expert. But I do think it's doable. The technology is there.

Renesme is so creepy! She has all her teeth. I think that's what frightened me the most. This baby already smiling at you with teeth! (But then again, I think the whole baby plot line was terrible and wish it never existed. )

ok people they arent playing themselves in this part...they would be evil with angelic faces so it wouldnt matter if DK is whiney or not...I think she is too but shes a good little actress

after looking at the pics of this Jodelle person and Cameron I think we could have a winner as far as Alex but I have to look at more pics of Jodelle because that one isnt doing it for me

As for Renesmee. I never thought of her as creepy. Well, maybe before she was born, but I fell in love with her the minute Bella held her in her arms. I never imagined her as a creepy child per-se. I think she's very cute and sweet actually. I just always picture her as Kristen Dunst in Interview With A Vampire because she looks like an older Renesmee with the curly hair and all, not because she's anything like Renesmee.
