Every time I think of Kirsten Dunst as Claudia I hear her whisper, "I want some more." Got chills?

As far as the anti-Vanessa bandwagon, why would it be personal? As far as I know, no one on this thread knows Vanessa.

In my opinion, she's a terrible actress. One dimensional. I enjoy the HSM movies, but she's the weakest link. She's a pretty face that has really only gotten by on her looks, because her talent is marginal, at best.

Leah is supposed to be tough, especially mentally. I picture Leah having a somewhat athletic build, especially later on. Vanessa Hudgens is in no way my picture of Leah. If she were cast it would suddenly be less about the book, the movie, the talented actors, it would headline, "HSM star to star in Twilight sequel." And the other actors deserve better than that.

You're right, that's all they would talk about. I mean if someone is holding a gun to a casting director's head telling them they HAVE to cast her. At least cast her as Emily, where she would be more suited. If she played Leah she will have to fight off vampires. The only way Vanesaa could destroy a vampire is if they laughed themselves to death at the thought of her wanting to fight them.

Ok guys, maybe its just me, but I am about 3/4 of the way through New Moon, and honestly, I am NOT a Jacob fan. I miss Edward and the rest of the bloodsuckers...Are the other 2 this way?

I felt the same way hang in there, the end gets much better. The next two are better as well. Honestly, I could read the beginning and end of New Moon and then happily go on to Eclipse. Jacobs crush is annoying but he means well.

"I want some more" is the only line from that movie that has stuck with me. :lmao: It always makes me laugh though, the way Brad Pitt spoke, it sounds like he has marbles in his mouth. Must be some ill fitting fangs. :confused3 :rotfl:

Anytime I think of her from that movie, I think of her temper tantrums. The one where she cuts off all her hair and then it grows right back. Then the one where she wants Brad Pitt to turn that woman for her b/c she isn't strong enough to do it herself.

And there's something in her voice that is not right for Leah, either. She sounds like my 5 year old. All high-pitched. Leah has a chip on her shoulder. Vanessa seems that she would be afraid to get dirty. I know it's "acting," but I just don't think she could do it. And I'd hate to see her as Emily also. The makeup they'd have to use on her would also become a focus. Beautiful teen star undergoes hideous transformation in New Moon. It becomes more about the makeup then the movie and the performance. And she doesn't have the acting chops to make you forget who is underneath the makeup.

So if they cast her, I hope she proves me wrong. OK, done with my Vanessa rant.

All is still right with the world!

Yup. It must suck to be Claudia though, a child forever. The Volturi would've been after Lestat in a heartbeat. Immortal Child! :lmao:

Two things.

One, New Moon is my least favorite out of all the books. I felt like until we got to the end, the book was in black and white, and suddenly, it became technicolor. Do you know what I mean?

And second, I just cannot picture Vanessa as Leah. In my mind, she's someone a LOT tougher looking than that. I know they can do a lot with hair styles and makeup and whatnot, but so not what I had in mind.

Excellent description! I couldn't agree more!

I have a feeling Emily may not be in the movie. They have to get rid of some parts in order to fit it to movie form. I think that the Sam and Emily relationship is one thing that will get cut. I think Vanessa H would make a decent Jane with her voice if only I could imagine her being scary. Then again I can picture other actresses that would be better as Jane. I think the problem is Vanessa H is kind of pigeon holed into the sweet teen in love role and it's hard to imagine more from her.

I hope they don't cut Emily totally out. I think Sam and Emily's relationship helps to show part of the reason why Leah is the way she is.

I think they need Sam and Emily, however briefly, if only to help explain imprinting. Plus, depending how large a part Leah has in BD, they'll need that back story to explain her motives (her attitude when she joins the pack, why she is so eager to join Jake, etc.) Of course, it'll all probably be about Edward and Bella!

Oh i really hope they do not cut out the relationship between Sam and Emily..that is so important IMO.
Like i said on facebook ( sorry if you all read it over there)..i think Leah is tough/B****y and can't see VH playing that part..can you imagine her trying to be tough with that squeaky voice..lol.. Then i said it would be like casting Britney spears as Jane :P

Yes, I'm hoping that we'll be able to peek at the script again so I'll have some idea what they've done to the story. I don't know if I can wait until November. :rolleyes1 It helped that I already knew that they had changed some key things ahead of time. It still bugs me that Edward drags her "up out of the cloudbank" and that Bella yells at Edward when he's trying to clip her into the jeep and fumbling at it.:headache:

I am thinking they could explain imprinting with any of the other werewolves and maybe even between two werewolves to save having to hire another character. They could then just make Leah have a grudge against not being totally human. These are just my thoughts as I am just trying to figure out what they will cut from the movie and Emily and Sam are not something they can't cut and get around.

Yes i understand that BUT..i feel that because Sam imprinted on Emily and had to leave Leah, it not only explains imprinting and why Leah is bitter, but it will also help later on (in later films). ALthough Leah and Jacob don't really get along, they understand what each other is/was/ has gone through. They can be civil ( to an extent..lol) to each other because they have both been hurt. It will also explain in BD (hopefully we get that far) why she is so quick to join Seth and Jacob.... And that's all i have to say about that...
I mean this is only my opinion and hopefully i explained it the way it was playing out in my head..

I agree, and yes you did explain it right. (See sometimes the voices in our head are right.:lmao: )

I don't think that the Sam/Emily relationship is easily cut. Yes, they could explain imprinting using another one of the wolves that imprint in the books. However, I think they are a better example of how you have no control over who you imprint on, which makes for a better understanding of Jacob imprinting on Renesmee. With the others they were not in love when they imprinted. With Sam he was in love with Leah when he imprinted on Emily. To me the Sam/Emily imprinted shows that you have no choice of who or when you imprint. Once you imprint you have no choice, that's the one for you, even despite being in a currently relationship. I just think that Sam & Emily are too important of a story to tell, if not for any other reason, for understaning Leah and the choices she makes.
I know like with the Harry Potter books, there will have to be things left out to make the movie not "Gone with the Wind" long. Like HP they will leave in things that are important to further the story, and I just feel that the Sam/ Emily is too important to cut.

LOL Thanks they have been talking a little too much lately..:rotfl2:
Stages of crazy...
Hearing voice in your head..............not crazy
Answering the voice in your head.....semi-crazy
Having arguments/ disagreements with the voices in your head...crazy, but don't let anyone know or they will come and take you on a vaction to a "spa" and they will bring you your own new pretty white coat.
Sorry I couldn't resist:lmao:

Thanks!

Wow you all sure do have some interesting discussions while I'm gone! I'll be very interested to see how the handle the wolves as whole. Considering that they combined some of the high school kids into one character, no Ben, just Eric, and one of the girls combined with Jessica I think, I'm wondering how they'll handle this.
