There were some awesome unknown's in Mel Gibson's Apocolypto. Of course I only know this because I saw the first 17 min of the movie. I had to leave after that because it was gruesome and horendous.. but the point is it can happen! (finding good unknowns)

I'm all for putting in fresh faces (Laurent was obviously not black in the book but he worked out great, the "regular kids" had some new faces, etc) HOWEVER... you cannot make BRENDA SONG into a Native American sister of JACOB BLACK. NO DICE. NO. Sorry, Disney, but NO. NO.

OK, I have a crazy request.

Since I have converted one of my co-workers in Boston into a die hard fan, I like to send her funny tidbits, photos, etc. I think it would be great if she were to get a postcard from Edward, but if I send it from Atlanta, she will know it is me.

Is anyone willing to send her a postcard for me? I would reciprocate if someone was wanting a postcard from Atlanta (perhaps Edward is here hunting black bears in the north Georgia mountains?)

It would be great if we had a connection in Forks that would do this!

I can send her one from Seattle. Is that close enough to Forks? Edward was in town for business (meeting with J. Jenks, the lawyer) and stopped by the Pike Place Market, to get flowers for Bella, and picked up a postcard or two... Tell me what you want it to say and PM me the address to send it to.

The Leah casting 'choices' are just rumors with no credibility what so ever. I don't really think we should pay attention to them at all.

I think if they just have to put a known actress in the Leah role, Megan Fox wouldn't be as awful as any of the Disney channel girls. I think she could actually pull it off. I think the girl from Aplocolypto would be a great choice.

The casting of Laurant didn't bother me b/c in the end he still felt right somehow for the part. Also, it's not as big of a part as Leah's is. For me casting one of the Disney girls for Leah would be like casting a tall graceful ballerina like blonde for Bella.

I am going through serious withdrawal... I have lent out all of my Twilight series and my Sookie Stackhouse books and now I don't know what to do with myself! I have a book on hold - Bitten- at the bookstore that someone on another thread recommended... I hope my friend that I lent my Twilight books to is a fast reader. I feel like the Charmed sisters saying "the Book of Shadows is not allowed out of the House!!!" It was bad enough when I took a break from reading them because my kids were reading them!

OK, so it's not totally me. I showed the pic to my DH and he thinks her legs look cartoon-ish. Her arms too, just not as bad as her legs.

(though his biography states that he is of French, Dutch and German descent? Where's he getting that gorgeous skin tone from?)

I don't picture Leah being a stereotypically pretty girl either, maybe unconventionally pretty. She also seems kind of like a tomboy and Vanessa does not look like the type to be able to pull that off.

She's a year older than Bella, though she's in the same grade. By Breaking Dawn, it's stated that she's 20.

I want to love New Moon (and beyond) as much as Twilight, but the casting directors will really screw it up if they go with a Disney Channel girl.

SING IT, SISTER. No Disney Channel girls! You know, though, I was thinking: Leah hardly shows up at all in New Moon. The only time you see her is when they have dinner over at the Black's house and she shows up with her mom Sue and her brother Seth, and she's on the phone the whole time. So really, they're picking her out more for the later movies. Come to think of it, you really don't see her human at all in Eclipse, either-- only in wolf form. You hardly see her at all till BD, unless they radically change it.

I agree. However, she's not his sister (except in the pack sense). She's Seth Clearwater's sister. Jacob's sister Rachel had Paul imprint on her, though.

Man, sometimes I just get really worried that this is going to be massively mishandled from now on. If it is, it may not make it all the way to Breaking Dawn in the movies.

It's not really the color. The photo is airbrushed so the arms and legs look very shiny and weird, but the color is mainly her skin color.

And as a side note, I'm German, Dutch and English, and can't go to Wal-Mart without someone asking if I speak Spanish. People think I am Mexican, Italian, or Indian. My mother is German/Serbian, and is the fairest skined person you'd ever meet, as is the rest of my family. My grandmother called me the "gypsy girl" and told me that's where they got me. Maybe Taylor and I are related!

I just read an article in that Film Fantasy magazine that said Taylor Lautner actually found out he was part Native American (along with the French, German, etc...) during the filiming and that he was excited to learn about his heritage. Makes sense as to why he's so convincing looking.

So tonight my DH was telling me a stupid work story and in the middle of it he says to me, casually eek: ), "Yea and this woman at work told me her nephew, well, sort of like her nephew, was in Twilight..." and he continues on.

ME:

Wha??? Wha?????

"Who was he??"

DH: "Oh.. one of the Native American kids... so I said to her, knowingly, 'Ohhh.. a werewolf'" and DH proceeds to look very smug.

ME: I grabbed him up by the shirt around his neck and pulled him close, "THIS IS SERIOUS!"

"I need to KNOW"

DH: ..... "something.. trimble..."

ME: YES, that's Sam Uley! (leah' is a Clearwater! I am just a sad, wannabe fan.. sorry Avalon, I type faster than I think, I knew better!)

ME: "This could be my IN to the filming of New Moon!! YOU NEED TO FIND OUT AND I MEAN IT!!!!!" I was fairly pained in the face as I said this.

Poor DH..... so yes, I might find out some inside details about the where's and when's of filming IF (and that's a big "if") he gets recast as Sam.

WOO HOO!!

And, of course, this could mean nothing but I'm excited for now!
