TWILIGHT vampire book!!!!!

I skimmed the blog, saw the tone, and went on with my day.

It kind of reminded me of the Rachel Ray sucks type of site. I don't see a point to being that negative.

I guess I feel bad for Ms. Meyers. I can't imagine what it is like to have your fans turning on you. I happened to love Breaking Dawn. I even liked the ending.

I've posted a "review" of sorts on my blog (Warning! Spoilers). I liked the book as well but my real issue is allowing the author's vision to be what they want. There's no way she could have made everyone happy. I don't understand the hatred that some people are showing.

It took me two months to get through Twilight. I just couldn't really connect with it, the writing didn't seem realistic and I felt like there were better books I could be reading. Though, S. Meyers is very good with words.

In the book, 1984, George Orwell said it best: you can ban together more with hatred than with love, ala Adolph Hitler. I think when people start putting on the hate, there will always be a number of people who will jump on that bandwagon. There are a lot of negative people in the world just looking for something to hate together.

As for me, I don't get it either. I'm a lover, not a hater, or as Randy Pausch would have called it, I'm a Tigger! :tigger:

See now if everyone who did not agree with it could be as Eloquent as you...;) ;)

I look at books like this: If it is Fiction Then it is a story and not mine but somebody else's and if i get pulled in (which i do on almost all books)then i am excited to see what happens(GOOD OR BAD)

Stephenie could have killed everyone off and i would have been okay because it is her story.... and i am just glad she shared her talent with me..

I am thankful to stephenie because she has brought me back to my LOVE of reading....:lovestruc

It really is sad to see people react this way. I know many fans that were unhappy with Breaking Dawn but are still Stephenie fans and would never do anything like that. I am one of those who love the Twilight series but I truely do not care for Breaking Dawn. It just felt foreign and like a different book to me. That said I stated how I felt and moved on. And I am happy that others enjoyed the book. I wish I would have enjoyed it but being an avid reader I know that not everything an author writes is going to be a good read for me. I still love the first three in the series and The Host and I plan to read other books that Steph will write. It is really sad to see others take such extreme measures.

I hope that the Lex gets back up soon.

Well, I can join this thread now. I started and finished this series in the past five days. I didn't want to read this thread until I finished because I knew that there would be spoilers. So, I started on the last page first. The post I quoted is how I feel.

I'm not terribly surprised to hear that there are people who hate the last book. I definitely didn't enjoy it as much as the first three. It has a completely different feel and in some ways it kind of ruined the story for me. :confused3 However, I couldn't have not read it because I had to see how the story ended. ;) And I certainly understand that the author should share whatever vision she had for the story.

Well said!

I'm planning to send Stephenie a letter. I think she needs all the support she can get right now, and I just want to tell her how much I enjoyed the whole series and how much these books taught me about life and love. :)

LOL and to add to that....Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has been bumped from the November 21st date and is scheduled to release in the Summer of 2009.

I got that email too, and DS and I were literally dancing around the living room. Now we get to see it when it opens!! (The original date was the day AFTER we leave for WDW!) We are happy happy happy. :yay:

i cant wait for the movie!! as for breaking dawn i am not a fan of the book. i took it for what it was worth.

Rats. My birthday is Dec. 13th and I was taking the 12th off to see the movie. They messed up my plans.

Don't worry, I'll only pout for a little while.

Yes, we can credit this change in the release date of the movie to the move of the next Harry Potter film to next summer.. that opened up that date in November.

I am very disappointed that HP was moved to July. We were really looking forward to it. WB decided to move it to next July for money reasons, since WB exceeded what they thought they would make with Dark Knight - they decided to push the HP movie to July the Hot blockbuster month. They feel that HP Half Blood Prince will do very well and probably exceed what Order of the Phoenix made which was also a summer release. Twilight was moved only because WB moved HP. This will be good for Twilight as they no longer have to compete with Harry Potter but there are some major movies coming out during the Nov/Dec time frame it will be up against.

I came here to see if this info about the movie was posted yet. I am so excited. U was really bummed about the HP movie but this news helps!! Twilight will come out the day before my birthday!!

Hi all -- thought I'd stop lurking and introduce myself!

I've just become obsessed with the Twilight series... I only picked up Twilight a week and a half ago, and finished Breaking Dawn about half an hour ago.

I haven't read through this whole thread yet, but it's nice to see that there are others out there who feel like I do! I'm soooooooooo looking forward to the movie, I can hardly stand it! Thank goodness it's been moved up. :hyper:

Oh, and for the record..

TEAM EDWARD!!!
