Sunnyday,
We moved my mother-in-law to a nursing home in April. In the room next door to her lives Edward Cullen! It gives me a jolt everytime I visit her. What's even weirder is that he is always covered with a sheet!:scared1: He even pulls it over his head so I have no idea what he looks like. I think he's trying to keep from sparkling  :rotfl: .
Deb

I bet the one by me sparkles!!!

Must. Not. Drive. By. :drive: We need an Edward Cullen emoticon.
And that t-shirt with the line, "look after my heart I've left it with you" makes me swoon!!!:faint:

I have enlisted 6 others into Twilight army. My Husband, 2 nieces plus Mandee's friend plus 2 friends

I got my husband to start reading a few weeks ago and he's almost done with Eclipse at this point!! He loves them too!! Now I can have someone to talk about them with, instead of most of my friends just looking at me like I'm crazy! lol.

DH bought me this book the other day after I mentioned that I was interested in getting into this series - I put it away and will break it out for the plane ride to wdw in 10 days - and I will read it as I lounge by the pool at the poly :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

Just incase you guys did not know cafepress.com has some awesome Twilight t-shirts, pens, buttons, and misc. They have ALOT to choose from!

OT here...but does anyone know whats going on with twilightmoms website?? since yesterday evening it says its disabled ....anybody know anything?

PMFJI: I just finished New Moon, and have Eclipse and Breaking Dawn on order. I haven't read the previous 1667 messages, for fear of there being untagged spoilers in the thread. Just a quick question: Are spoilers being tagged in this thread? If so, for which book(s)?

Thanks!

Bicker - glad to see you here, but surprised that these would be your kind of books! ;)

Anyways, there are NO spoilers for Breaking Dawn in this thread - that was decided, and there is a separate thread to discuss it. However, if you haven't read Eclipse yet, and don't want any spoilers, I'd wait to read the rest of this thread until then. I don't think there are any blatant spoilers, and some are pre-warned, but there are a lot of general discussions of all three of the first books (like "I don't like how x did this or acted like this in this book").

I'm very surprising! :) My wife and I have basically everything by Charlaine Harris. We read a lot of the earlier Laurel Hamilton novels. Our initial interest in the Vampire sub-genre stemmed from Stephen King's 'Salem's Lot and Anne Rice's novels. Our reading interests are pretty broad (within "genre" itself), actually; Wilbur Smith, Diana Galbaldon, Robert Jordan, Anne McCaffrey, etc.

Thanks! Eclipse should be here tomorrow. I'll surf the web tonight, instead of picking up Raising Atlantis. These books are so readable that I'll probably read fast enough than new Eclipse spoilers posted to this thread won't hurt me too much.

The site should be back up on Monday just check the blog for the latest info on when they will reopen.

Here is what was posted on the TM blog to explain why they were shut down...

Copy& Pasted from TM
"Yesterday at least one of the Twilight communities mounted an attack on some of the Twilight fansites. They held a “contest” of sorts to see who could post as many of their banners on a site and take a screen shot of their banner before it got deleted. They posted a few posts on our site before we decided to disable the forum for the night. The TwilightMOMS forums were not hacked and are still in tact but due to lack of staffing available this weekend to deal with the issue we have decided to keep the forum disabled for the weekend.

Our heart goes out to the Lexicon and we are truly saddened that their site was hacked last night. The Lexicon held a wealth of information for the Twilight Fandom which is currently unavailable to all.

ETA: It appears it was one really upset person who hacked into the Lexicon. I’m truly sorry for the time and energy that it will take the Lex to restore the damage that was done. The Lexicon provided so much valuable information for the Twilight community. I personally agree that, no matter whether you loved or hated Breaking Dawn, or agreed or diagreed with the Lexicon stance on what is allowed on their personal site, hacking in and destroying someone’s website is unjustifiable and completely wrong.

ETA: My original post said it was a teenager who hacked into the Lex but in reality I don’t have a clue how old the person was. Stephenie Meyer has many loyal fans of all ages!!! Teenagers and adults alike adore her and the world she has created."

Yes..we got an email yesterday letting us know that the Lexicon had been hacked!

your website was hacked. :D

I just cannot believe some people..honestly..this is just beyond ridiculous!!:headache: :sad2:

It just proves even further how childish some of the responses to Breaking Dawn really are.

I just finished the series last night and wet to the Lexicon to see some discussions on the book. I really loved each book. It was so sad to see the website was hacked :sad2:

This morning I was talking to a group of ladies that are starting a book club. I suggested Twilight. I got the "ugh, I don't like vampires books". I think this series would be perfect for a book club.

So sad to see that people are stooping to hacking other sites like that. Even if it is an adult- they sure are acting childish...

I was also saddened to read that Stephenie Meyers was hurt by some of the comments made by some- like "don't burn BD- return it" - You know- no one is going to like every book- or everything about every book- but there is a way to post criticism and a way not too.

The people doing the cruel and hatefull things- seriously need some help- if they are this upset over a book- makes you wonder how real the story line got for some out there- that it upset them this much.

I do recall some pretty harsh things going back and forth in the Harry Potter Fandom during the extended wait for book 5- but I still didn't think it was like this... And yes I was way more involved in that fandom than the Twilight fandom- just makes you want to shrug.

Hugs to those at the lexicon.

I received the same email. I'm heartbroken for the Lex. I go there daily to feed my addiction. I hope they can get back up and working quickly.

SM.com has been updated with pictures from various release parties:

I LOVE the pictures of the couple in the wedding because that's exactly what I think Bella's dress looks like! O_O And i'm defenetly dressing up as weddng Bella for the Midnight Sun release party.
Plus, the engagement pictures...too adorable for words! I wish my bf would do that... -_-

It is a great book club book and it is the reason I even read them. We meet mid month and Twilight was the book for our July meeting. A few of the ladies (we are all 30s/40s) weren't interested at all due to the vampire theme...they HATED Wicked when we read that last year. But EVERYONE has loved this series SO much, we are doing New Moon, Eclipse AND BD for our August meeting this Wednesday! I can't wait! The lady hosting is going to do a Team Edward/Team Jacob thing I think, should be fun, as we are divided on that issue. Too funny, a bunch of suburban housewives being so addicted to thiss series!

See! That is what I am saying! why do I get so irrational with people who don't want to read this series :confused3 I need to lighten up.

Does anyone know where I can buy an Italian charm for Twilight for my DD for Christmas? I only found one on ebay and they don't show the finished product. I'd like to see what the final product looks like before I buy, or at least know that the business selling it is reputable.

TIA!
