I was all pumped to get the book first thing this morning....

bright eyed and bushy tailed, I headed to the exhange on the base here, book sold out! I was sad, but re-assured myself I would just stop by wally world on the way home.

Go to wal-mart. Book sold out!!! SERIOUSLY?

Left straight from wal-mart to the local barnes and noble. Walk in and the table with the Breaking Dawn advertisement is EMPTY!!! Oh my freaking GOD! Just then, the book store lady starts putting out more books. I seriously wanted to lay a good ol' fashioned smooch on that woman.

I'm 5 chapters in now, and have to leave to play a stupid softball game with fools I work with. UGH.:headache:

See you guys later on the BD thread!
I've hugged 2 store clerks in my lifetime. The first was the man who sold me my DD's shoes for her First Communion. They were SO hard to find that I was thrilled when I finally found them. The second was the man in Circuit City who said that he had a Wii in the back that he could sell to me for DD's birthday. Both clerks thought it was pretty funny.

I thought the exact same thing! Although, not sure if I would read it.
I agree with this. A lot of the stuff on the reservation and with the werewolves, in Eclipse and BD, didn't hold my interest as much as Edward and Bella's story.

I feel so depressed that it's over. I'll totally miss it. :(
As for the movies, I don't think they should turn Breaking Dawn into a movie. All through the book I kept thinking, this just wouldn't work on-screen. It works for the book, not a movie.
If they were to do BD any justice, I'd think it would have to be a REALLY LONG movie, or it would have to be cut into 2 movies to include enough to stay true to the book.

She has already talked about that actually. She says it would have to be two movies and then joked about poor Kristen and then things she is going to make her do.
There you go... my theory, exactly.

Hey..I even didn't mind the name so much!:rotfl: I HATED it at first..but then it started to grow on me..if nothing more than for the comedy it provided.
All I keep thinking is that Apple and Sunday don't sound like silly names anymore. I like the comedy provided by the name, but it was the weirdest and worst name I've ever heard.

i have been deliberately and deliciously been dragging this book out...but I had to take a break just to take it all in...i have a cloud over my head right now because everything is SOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo far fetched it just isnt realistic to me anymore...i know i know it never was but Im sure you know what I meant by that....my friend has been severely disheartened by the whole thing...I personally, really love it even as far fetched as this all is...its just taking me a while to take all of it in...I also think its hard for her right now because she really cant talk about alot of it with me....not until I finish each part and then we talk about it but shes NOT happy at all...this book is just crazy:crazy2:

Once again, I am only posting here and not reading replies. I don't want to read any spoilers. I just finished New Moon (yes, I am a little behind) but just wondering if anyone knows when Eclipse is coming out in paperback. Could you PM me?

Thanks,
Karen

Alright so you guys here and of course the review in my paper.... intrigued me enough to buy the first book... I am on page 140... and I have to say I really want something to happen to draw me in, please tell me it will!!!!

I never believed the hype about the Harry Potter books and then last summer when the final book came out I decided to read them from the beginning.... well lets just say I spent a very long August reading all 7 in a row!! I actually went to 4 bookstores to find Half blood prince one Saturday night... much to the dimay of my DD, who just wanted a Hedwig stuffed animal :rolleyes1

So please tell me I will start to get into this book and it will be another Harry Potter series for me, I could really use a good book to occupy me on the flight to Orlando in a few weeks, as I hate to fly :goodvibes

Me and my friend, both found it to be about half way into book 1 before we were sucked in. SO, keep reading~!

Alright I will take your word for it and keep on tredging, although I am thinking J.K. Rowling is a much better story teller, I was sucked in from the beginning of Sorcerers Stone... :thumbsup2

OK, my dd is an 18 year old fanatic fan. Here is her take on it. " The woman who writes the books is a Mormon and has kids. She writes books that would be ok for her kids to read. There is little violence. Less than in the other books."

DD has read several reviews, and they say 12 and up. We are a pretty conservative family as well, and I trust her judgement. She thinks it would be ok for a sixth grader, because at that age, most kids know about sex, but there is no actual description of what happens in the book.

Hope this helps!

I am 14 and I totally love them. Great reading

Hapandpam, perhaps you would think about editing your post with the spoiler and description of Breaking Dawn. There is another thread about the book that allows spoilers. It was agreed upon earlier that we would keep them out of this thread.

Thank you for your understanding.

BTW, the other thread is here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1898915

Much better. Thanks! I've read the book, so nothing was spoiled for me. I just wanted to keep the thread going in the way we all agreed to take it.

So, I was wondering if we could do a pronunciation clinic here on this thread. How did you pronounce the following:

Quileute (Kwil-yoot)
Volturi (vole-ter-ee)
Renesmee
Esme (I always did the soft "e", like es-may)

What other names did you have a tough time with?

My ways are:
Kill-ee-yoot
Vol-tour-ee
Ren-ess-mee through most of the book until I realized it probably was Ren-ess-may
Ess-may

I say Quileute pretty much the same way.
Volturi (vol-toor-ee)
Renessmee (re-ness-mee)
Esme (es-mee) I've never pronounced it es-may.

I absolutely LOVED Breaking Dawn. I was so happy how she wrapped up everything. I started out not being a fan of Bella at all. I completely changed my mind after this book. She really matured and became one of my favorite characters. I'm really sad that it's over though.
I totally agree! One reason I wasn't a bigger fan of the series was Bella's weaknesses - she turned it around in this book and became totally kick ***!

I wasn't sucked in until the meadow scene. At least try until then! (you'll know the one I mean when you get there)

Quileute (Kwil-yoot)

now see I know the quil is pronounced like you put (kwil) but I thought the eu was oothe e being silent and I know Im probably off on this one but I thought the te was pronounced like tea so the whole thing would sound like kwil oo tea:confused3 so I checked lol and its kwill yoot

Volturi= vole-tor-e
Esme= ez-may
