Thanks for posting the link to the trailer! I was gone all weekend and just got to see it! I am even more excited for the movie now!!

I am not feeling the "spider monkey" name!

I really don't think that spider monkey is Edward's new nickname for Bella.

I took it more like it was just something he called her in that particular scene..cause she was on his back, and they were flying through the trees.. like spider monkeys.

I doubt it gets said more than the one time.

As I'm reading through the series again I'm wondering if Bella's "ability" to be unaffected by the other vampire powers will be her special strength after she's turned into one herself. How could that be magnified after she changes? hmmmmmm, lots to think about.

Sometimes I'm afraid I'm reading too much into the overall story and that the 4th book won't be that deep...just like Harry Potter.

.

I agree. Perhaps once she's transformed (if she is), her special power will be to cancel out other vampires powers when they are around her...like they won't work at all on anyone?

She hasn't canceled out Alice's though, or the one that makes the mood change (Jasper?).

There has to be some reason though why he can't read her thoughts, can't wait to find out.

Happy Twilight Tuesday everyone:yay: memorymaker...dont forget that others dont have the ability to use their powers on her either...for instance Jane...remember she tried to inflict pain on her and it didnt work and Marcus or was it felix who couldnt read her thoughts either....and they are the ancient ones...

Stephenie has said that only powers that works on the "exterior" have an effect on Bella. She has..thus far anyway..always been immune to any power that deals with the mind...not just Edwards.

Ok, I just finished book three. I read them all over the past few days. I had to stay away from this thread though, because I supremely dislike being spoiled.

Thoughts: Well, I LOVED them!!! Since I read them so fast they all kind of blended together so there was never a time I felt like things were dragging (well, maybe a bit when Ed leaves in New Moon). I was really surprised when I got online and read how many people dislike Bella. I thought she was a likeable character. I didn't think she whined too terribly much. Anyways, now I can't wait for the last book. I realize my wait will be pathetically short compared to all those who read them before now.

Hmm...I think my mind is still reeling. I most definitely prefer Edward, I mean Jacob is nice, but I prefer the bloodsucker. Now I am trying to con Dbf into reading them so I can have someone to drag along to the release party. There will be people older than 18 at these things, right?

That's what I find so interesting and I hope that Breaking Dawn will add to that somehow.

When the 7th HP book came out DH and I actually had a list of questions that we were hoping would be answered and kind of mentally checked things off the list as we read. I'm hoping that Breaking Dawn will answer some of my questions...

Like, if the vampires leave, will the phasing into werewolves stop? How long do the vampires have to be near for the young men to start phasing...so many.

I've not read much on Twilightmoms so I don't know if they have a thread about questions but we should start a list of questions here.

Welcome to my obsession! For the record, I LOVE Bella. I LOVE Edward even more. Jacob -- he is nice guy, and I'd like him more if he wasn't interferring with destiny.

And there will definitely be people over the age of 18 at the Breaking Dawn release parties. I'm over 18, and so are all the people I goof around with over at the Twilight Moms forums that will be going to release parties. Gosh, I miss them over there. (those forums are closed down until the book comes out to prevent any possible spoilers from being spread as per Stephanie herself)

I can't wait for BD to be out! Have you been reading the quotes of the day?

Ahh, interesting, wasn't thinking about the others. Hmmm!

I have been! I was gone on vacation for a week when they started but it was easy to catch up. I keep attributing them to wedding quotes but they can't all be, can they? I SO can't wait for BD!

I am obssesssed as well. So much so that I have dragged everyone around me into it as well(including my DH!) So far all of my friends have loved the books with the exception of my sis (the traitor) who said it was way too mushy for her:love:
I also cannot believe the negative comments toward Bella. I personally love her! My DH told me last night that he likes her alot as well (he said he liked her dry wit) I LOVE LOVE LOVE Edward but Im sorry I cannot stand Jacob!! I HATE him. To me he is a pathetic crybaby who has no respect whatsoever for Bella and who only cares about himself and for some reason in my mind he's really ugly to boot! Just my opinion anyway but he seems so whiny (spelling??) to me!
I too have alot of questions I am hoping will be answered in BD! Maybe I should get a list going.

Oh, I just started reading the quotes of the day yesterday and they are so enticing and frustrating. Oh and I like Jacob alot too. I just prefer Edward. It will be interesting to see where the Jacob story line goes. Ack, I can't wait til next weekend.

ETA: Did ya'll pre-order your book from the store you are going to the release party at? I wasn't sure what to do. I know when I did the HP release parties, I usually went for the party and then booked over to Wal-Mart to get my copy because the lines were so long. I also though about ordering from Amazon, but wasn't sure if I would get in on Sunday? Just wondering what the best strategy is. TIA!

I was going to ask something about the release as well. If I pre-order from B&N and go to the party (not the whole thing, but just to get my book), will the lines be really long?

How do I find out who else will have it on sale at Midnight?

I wasn't going to buy it, as I dont' buy books...too cheap, but I don't think I will be able to wait!
