Yup, those are the ones. No kidding! I don't think "steamy" would even begin to describe them. I finally got the courage up to read them in my 20's. Oof!

Back on topic, have you read the 1st chapter of "Breaking Dawn" yet? Anyone have thoughts?

Back off topic..:bitelip:

I do not know these books of which you speak..do..do..enlighten me..;)

The books are The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, Beauty's Punishment and Beauty's Release. They were written under the penname A. N. Roquelaure. And they are unabashedly porny. Very heavy on the BDSM. Meant to be read with a flashlight under the covers.

i read all 3...you know i got soooooooooooooooo :furious: reading them at how they were being treated...not even like humans...worse than dogs...the porno didnt bother me as much as the way they got treated but i stuck through it all and read till the end:rolleyes2:

oh yeah...i have been trying to read all the posts on this thread but I have gotten to a point where people are starting to delve into the next couple of books...not having read them yet, I stopped there but did want to comment on one thing...seems the group consensus is that Bella is a damsel in distress and everybody hates it...I personally, have not reached that conclusion...now maybe as I continue on in the series I will change my mind but I just think she is a klutz who because she has never experienced love or realized that he could have such an affect on her everytime he is near her, I just think she is consumed by him and nothing else matters...how many times were they in the cafeteria and all of a sudden realized they were the only 2 left in there...when hes with her she sees nothing else which can cause her not to use common sense and therefore she gets put in predicaments that he has to bail her out of...just my 2 cents:goodvibes

hehee...read on. You'll see.

Speaking of Anne Rice ( another fan here:thumbsup2 ) Did you all know that she has announced that she will be writing one more vampire chronicle book. Since she has been reborn she had said that she would not write about the vampires again so I am interested in seeing how she writes this one with her renewed religious views. I believe she said in an interview it would be about Lestat searching for redemption. It sounds like it will be an interesting read. I do love the character Lestat and I am curious how she will handle writing about him now.

I highly recommend them!!!

the author is Stephenie Meyer and there's 3 in the series so far.

#1 is Twilight
#2 is New Moon
#3 is Eclipse

Fabulously addictive and wonderful story about a 17 year old girl who falls in love with a vampire, who is also a 17 year old ...for the last 100 years.

The concept sounds lame, I know, but just take a look if you are looking for a good read! Just be sure to feed your kids and do your chores first before you pick up Twilight because you'll be hooked.

Anyone else totally, head over heels in love with these books???

Okay...I have to say my dd is reading these books. And after finding this thread I decided; I'd try and reading the books. So, I borrowed them from her...and I read the first three books in three days!! I just love them...I can't wait for the fourth book to come out. But my dd said I'd have to wait until she finished the fourth one before she would let me borrow it. I told her she better read it fast or else! :rolleyes1

Well that problem is easily solved..just buy 2 copies!!:rotfl:

That's my plan anyway! There is NO way DD or I could wait for the other to finish..NO WAY!:faint:

I too love the Lestat series and the Mayfair Witches books too. I agree with the other comments that she "jumped the shark" toward the end of the Lestat series, I hope she gets back on track!

I am reading the Twilight series for the 4th time now, love them! Can't wait until August to see what happens. I read the first chapter of Breaking Dawn, bring on the fairy tale ending. Fingers crossed for Edward and Bella! :worship: :worship:

I am almost done with New Moon-I have loved it so far! I can see that it would be kind of a slow paced movie but I hope that they do it anyway. I can't get enough of this story! I might wait to read Eclipse-spread out the joy even further. :worship: Plus I'm not getting housework done while I read these books :guilty:

my sentiments exactly deb!! I heard I wasnt going to like this book as much as the others but they were dead wrong...I love it...*sighs* however, last night, when I got to the part where Edward left Bella I had to put the book down for awhile and do something else to deter my thoughts elsewhere...I was crying so hard because that hit a little too close to home for me...its funny...no matter that Im almost 43 and it happened when I was a teenager but I realized that we never actually "get over" the pain and suffering we went through with our first love...my friend said it best... you dont get over it you just forget...and that saying "time heals all wounds" is true to a point because in time we allow ourselves to forget about it but becoming face to face with it brough back some old pain and that sucked:worried: but after a while I went back to it and now Im back to being sucked in...Im serious...you cant do anything when your reading these..no housework, eating, nothing...I wonder if Stephenie Meyer realizes that her books do that to us:scratchin...there needs to be a warning on the front cover

I saw an interview with her not too very long ago and from what I understood she was saying was that at some point and time she will probably write another book on Lestat as you mentioned but that right now she couldnt bring herself to go back to it...shes got alot of projects and needs some time before she can take that on...so who knows:confused3 can you believe she up and moved out of New Orleans to a completely different state...she said she needed a complete change and she lives in a much brighter looking house:rotfl:

This is exactly how I've been thinking! I'm 40 and I feel like I can feel all that teenaged angst again. Stephenie really writes in a relatable way!:thumbsup2

I got all excited about this until I went to her site.

FROM ANNE: THERE WILL BE NO CHRISTIAN VAMPIRE NOVEL FROM ME.

In spite of a flood of emails askng for a Christian Lestat novel (a novel in which Lestat is redeemed), and my own comment about this in the press, I am completely putting aside this project. After prayer, meditation, and much pondering, I do not think such a novel is possible. My present focus has to be on my novels about the life of Jesus Christ and I do not want to revisit the realm of my earlier books. I thank all of you who have written to me on this, both pro and con. You have helped me to think out the question. I can assure you; as things stand now there will be no Christian Lestat novel.

Dang it :(

this actually doesnt surprise me at all...I mean hello????? Lestat is dead and how can one redeem themselves once they are dead??? When I watched her interview initially in regards to the conversation about doing the christian book on Lestat I kind of had a feeling she wasnt too sure she even wanted to venture out there again...

So I finished The Host yesterday and I gotta say...I was a bit underwhelmed by the ending. I was expecting something very climactic and it was anything but. Not sure what I was expecting with it.

But don't get me wrong I loved the book. Though the description of how the souls take over your mind and stuff seemed a bit Stargate-ish to me. I got over that quick though.

Maybe I just need to read it again.

lint - I told Lisa and Ben about our twilight/disboards meet.
Ben said to tell you he thinks your name is sexy. :rotfl:
