Book 2:

Basically Edward leaves Bella because he thinks its the best thing for her; to keep her safe and stuff. Then Bella becomes best friends with Jacob and Jacob gets feelings for her. Bella saves Edwards life. Also she has to become a vampire soon or else this powerful group of vampires, the Volturi, will kill her. And of course Edward and Bella get back together.

Book 3:

Bella is forced to pretty much choose between Jacob and Edward. She gets engaged and Jacob sort of leaves in the end.

My old copy is good and looks brand new.
It's not even old yet, it just came out a month ago...
